I was honestly amazed by the new vibe and atmosphere. They've made it into a really nice place to sit down, relax, and enjoy your food. We were originally planning to just get takeout, but after seeing the new setup, we decided to stay and have dinner there. We ordered the grilled chicken tacos with everything and Jarritos, which was a great combo. Both of my kids and I really enjoyed the food! The staff were friendly and the service was great. My only small complaint is that their phone line gets really busy. I was trying to order ahead and had to call several times because it would say the line was busy and hang up. Overall, great experience and a huge improvement from the last time I visited. We'll definitely be back!

I gave up and opted for a plain cheese quesadilla instead just to end the interaction. We also ordered the Hot Cheeto burrito. When the food arrived, there was no sauce or salsa included on the side and after looking around the entire dining area, there wasn't a salsa bar or a single bottle to grab anywhere. Serving dry quesadillas and heavy burritos without salsa is sad. Honestly, Taco Bell tastes better and at least gives you sauce. Completely disappointing experience, and we won't be coming back.

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. went with my boyfriend but we didn't take a picture as it wasnt really "picture worthy" food…read moreotherwise i would add it here but we ordered tacos for their taco tuesday deal.. and suffice to say, was pretty disappointed. we ordered the asada, pollo asado, birria, al pastor, and carnitas. they forgot my boyfriends asada and gave him their pollo in salsa instead. whatever, we didnt want to make a fuss so we decided to give it a try. very bland version of marinated chicken. their pollo asado was also extremely bland with virtually only salt and pepper as the seasoning. carnitas were ok. al pastor tasted off.. maybe it was the way they marinated it, but it tasted a little old. the birria tacos were the best out of the bunch but, again, they weren't very flavorful or juicy which is rare for birria. all the tacos were pretty dry tbh. for as many tacos as we ordered (7/plate), there was no grease left behind on the plates at all. not that i want greasy tacos but if you eat tacos, you know a little grease is fine.. adds flavor and is normal when meat is JUICY. the tortillas werent even heated up all the way.. they were white as can be and a little cold. now, the salsas werent any better. they had three options: red, green, and orange. none were spicy nor mild. red was a very tomato forward salsa, sorta tex-mex style. green was watered down but had a more lemony flavor to it. not terrible but shouldn't have been so watered down. the orange sauce is considered their "spiciest" sauce but it wasnt spicy at all. if anything, all it had was a chipotle flavor to it. tasted like it was more of a seafood salsa, didnt pair well with some of the meats we got. im sorry but you cant call yourself "mr. taco" or have "taqueria" advertised at your door and serve such mediocre tacos. i will say, the music was great and the restaurant itself was inviting and very clean. the bathroom was also well kept. service was ok. lady at the front didnt seem too knowledgeable about the different meats they offer but was nice. i contemplated leaving this review bc i don't want to hurt the business however, i hope as the owner, you see this and start making some adjustments. focus on one thing and make it something people come back to you for. my advice would be to perfect your salsa recipes so they make up for the quality of your tacos/taco meat and it would give people a reason to come back. or make the meat really good and leave your salsas as is. wish you the best.

I have only ever left 5-star reviews because I love supporting small businesses, but after tonight,…read morewe will no longer be supporting this spot. We have been loyal regulars here for a long time, coming at least once a week. Honestly, the main reason I kept coming back and always tipped well, even when the staff was sometimes just whatever, is because the guy who owns it is always so nice, friendly, and works incredibly hard. Unfortunately, his wife handled things tonight, and the service was absolutely horrible. We ordered a steak burrito, and let me tell you, the meat was completely inedible. It was just pure gristle in every single bite, to the point where we couldn't even chew it and only ate about a fourth of it. They also forgot to give us salsa with our chips. When we called to let them know about the meat, his wife started chopping up meat on her end, arguing with me, and insisting the food was perfectly fine and fresh. My wife, who is visibly 8 months pregnant, actually walked the burrito back into the restaurant just to show her the gristle. Because the lady said to bring it back show her. Instead of making it right or offering a simple switch for a chicken burrito like my wife had asked, she completely lacked empathy and flat-out said, "I can't remake your burrito." I called back to ask what could be done to fix this, and she started telling me to stop yelling at her. I wasn't yelling at all, my other baby was screaming in the background because my wife left the house to try and get the food fixed. She then hung up the phone on me. Apparently, she told my wife she even consulted her husband before refusing to fix it. It is so unfortunate that a business we supported weekly would treat regulars this way, but they have officially lost customers for life. The owner also said she was going to reply to me on here. Waiting for an explanation of how you turned away an 8 month pregnant lady?
