I've been coming to this Church's Chicken for a while, and normally things are pretty consistent. Recently, though, one thing has definitely changed -- the place has gotten much stricter about plates, sauces, and portions. I understand having policies, but the shift feels abrupt and a bit unfriendly compared to how they used to operate. On top of that, the restroom was out of order. I'm not sure how long it's been broken, but something like that should be addressed quickly. A functioning restroom is basic, especially for a restaurant. The part that really bothered me, though, was the situation with the soccer ball giveaway. The manager told me they only had one version available. Later, I saw him walk to his car and put the Mexico soccer ball in his trunk. So much for "only one version." It's disappointing to be told one thing and then see the exact opposite happen right in front of you. Overall, the food is still what you'd expect from Church's, but the customer experience has definitely taken a step backward. I hope they tighten up the restroom issue and bring back the more welcoming, straightforward service they used to have. read more

Bright and clean Monrovia location. Church's would have been my #1 go-to fried chicken if they had more locations and were closer to me. Drove 9 miles for the Tax Day 'Crunch' special, totally worth it - 8pcs spicy for $4.99 Juicy, meaty, well-seasoned breading, crunchy -- enough to covert me (and many others) to the 'Church of Chikin' read more

We were watching the World Cup and didn't feel like going out so we ordered fried chicken for delivery. It turned out to be a great idea. The chicken skin was crispy. The meat was juicy and not spicy at all, paired with a coke, that was perfect game night meal. Happily order it again especially for a night in watching sports.. read more

On a Saturday morning in late March, my sister and I came here to buy fried chicken deal. At 10:50am, there was a line to order fried chicken, The nice cashier told me "The two can dine $10 is order online-5 pieces leg and thigh, 2 sides, 2 biscuits " is order in the app. We wanted 30min because I requested spicy which took a long time to be made. Meanwhile, the dining room looked clean, but the restroom was out of order. They apologized for the delay. Finally I received and took it home. I took a bite and it was spicy and crunchy and not oily, The biscuits and 2 sides-Mac n. Geese and mash potatoes taste good. It's nice they open at 9am daily, I have 3 stars for the delay on the fried chicken read more

Tried Church's for the first time and was not impressed. Bought the Chicken Meal with 2 sides and the only thing I liked was their Corn (on the Cob). Their Mac & Cheese tasted like artificial cheese and the pasta was chewy like plastic. Chicken was a 6/10 because it was dry. To be fair, the bf was obsessed with their wings. I definitely will stick with Popeye's because not only they have a better deal, but their chicken is always crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. read more

We like Church's Chicken. In my opinion, it's better than the Colonel's place, but not as good as the Louisiana Kitchen chain founded in New Orleans. This location in Monrovia is consistent in quality and taste. Employees are efficient. They have a drive-thru. read more

Something about the fried chicken that turns humans into feral animals thirsting for meat. Just kidding. I ordered a 10 pack of spicy mix and shared it at work. Not only was it a hit, we continued to speak about how good it was after we are it. Church's has one of the best fast food fried chicken recipes in the market and you cannot deny this as fact. My one and only downside at this location was the slow service. I ordered ahead on the app but still needed to wait 15 minutes past the actual pickup time. Other than that, I would say the chicken is worth the wait. read more

This is hands-down my favorite Church's Chicken location. The service is exceptional--friendly, efficient, and always on point. They consistently offer great deals and specials, and the best part? You can pay upfront and wait for a fresh batch of chicken, which usually takes just 15-20 minutes. Trust me, the wait is 100% worth it for that piping-hot, perfectly crispy perfection. The interior features standard seating for dine-in, and it's kept clean and well-maintained. I honestly prefer Church's fresh fried chicken over any other spot in town. Pro tip: Grab the 8-piece spicy special with their legendary honey biscuits and opt for the fresh batch--you won't regret it! read more

The chicken is fresh and crispy, the slaw is crunchy and sweet, the biscuits are soft...mashed potatoes with no lumps....Church's is my preference among the fried chicken establishments. They are more on the least expensive side also. Other fried chicken chains have raised their prices, and very rarely have deals targeting single meals. I will travel for some Church's Fried Chicken! read more

Very greasy chicken, sadly the food looked very discolored. No sauces were offered I would give this spot a 2 not because of the service but because of its taste. read more

Church's Chicken - Check out the good deal on windows - Fast Food Near Me - Monrovia, California

Food is always freshly cooked as they are always sold out. Space is not that big but I assume it can sit 15-20 people. Service is fast and chicken is always cooked to perfection. They have always day deals for chicken or in buckets. Service is always fast and staff are always nice, courteous and hard working ( everybody is busy cooking or arranging something in the kitchen). This is a very good and delicious chicken that you should try... original or spicy or their texas style it doesn't matter they are all worthy ! Oh dont forget their delicious Biscuit! read more

Went to buy lunch Fast service Great customer service by Kevin Got my food fast it was very hot and tasty no complaints

Chicken is seasoned well and the biscuits are fresh. I like this location better than the other ones because the chicken has more flavor! The French fries are a little bit overcooked, I hope next time the fries will be better. read more

Always great tasting chicken. It was piping hot and flavor was perfect The biscuit are the best, light & flaky with a nice honey butter on top. Apple pie also delish! Great manager and staff! read more

The employees are phenomenal , food was hot and fresh, couldn't have asked for a better experience!

The best service you could get at any fast food joint. If you want fried chicken paired with amazing biscuits, you should definitely come here. The food is fresh and the staff is incredibly helpful. Honestly a lot of fast food chicken places have meh service, which is understandable since chicken takes a long time to cook, but this Church's is the exception. A truly wonderful staff. As someone who eats a ton of fast food chicken, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. read more

I have been here many years ago and was really put off by their terrible chicken. I just keep remembering how bad it was to the point of no return. Literally. Feeling rather brave again and, honestly, I have exhausted the search for great chicken at the other places, I took the gamble to come back. The reviews still aren't great, but some are based on the service. Importantly, the chicken has to be super awesome to make me return for more as I can forgive a little bad service. Since about six months ago, and multiple visits later, I can say that the chicken has remained consistently awesome. They are super crispy and tasty, and moist with the flavor penetrating to the bone which means the marinate time is long enough. Important. There is some seating inside, but I have never eaten there, looks pretty clean. Definitely deserves more stars. read more

Great customer service! Very helpful with ordering my meal. Clean dining area. Delicious, juicy chicken!

Nobody does it like Churches Chicken. Man, i miss just walking up here back in the days when i wanted some fried chicken. We do not have any locations as far as i know in Orange County, but i stopped here recently, and had some chicken with a friend of mine. My girlfriend does not like or eat fried chicken much, so i had to enjoy it with a friend of mine. He eats chicken as much as i do. They still have good Tuesday specials here. New items on the menu. chicken was on point. Parking is crooked, and it can be tricky in space. Drive thru is really bad. But i figure a way to get my food. read more

I went to this location on April 17th at around 8:15 PM. I am very disappointed with this experience. First of all, I don't appreciate hearing from the one of the two female workers there at the time, minutes before being handed my order, "Gross, we need to change our oil, it's so disgusting!" This is so unprofessional. They should monitor that more carefully. This "disgusting" oil lead to our chicken tasting like cardboard mixed with dirty socks. Yes, that oil is disgusting. Thank you so much for thinking about your customers and actually changing the oil ahead of time to give us an amazing experience. That last sentence is sarcasm by the way, just in case you all don't get it. I guess people just don't care about customer service anymore. This chicken was gross and cold. Not that you all even care, but I won't be going back to this location any longer. You all will soon be replaced by AI because you all just don't care about service. read more

Haven't even left the store yet.... I went up to the cashier, after having wait in for what seemed like a while. They were busy but nonetheless. Walked up to the cashier and ordered the 10pc with TENDERS with 2 large sides and a half gallon. Pamela, cashier, said they don't do it with tenders only legs & thighs. I processed to show her the website where it clearly states that 10pc TENDERS are an option. Still declined.... Said ok and ordered my order.... As I'm waiting for my order I noticed a big poster outside on the window that also clear states that 10pc TENDERS were an option. When I collected my order I brought it to the attention of Pamela. She straight up told me that the owner is the one that made the decision not to honor the advertisement..... Not trying to be a huge asshole here. However, last I checked false advertisement is a crime. I think it just makes me upset at the fact that it is 100% clear that that option is available but the owner clearly doesn't care. read more

This Church's Chicken is located on a corner, across Shell gas station and right in front of Something Healthy Cafe and 24 Hour Fitness, with it's own parking lot and drive thru. My husband was craving some fried chicken so we ended up coming here about 30 minutes before closing. We saw a sign for the 3 piece chicken meal for $3.99 (prior to tax, or $4.37 after) and decided to get that. Since the intercom was not working (with a sign informing customers), we pulled forward to the window to order. The employee taking our order asked my husband if he could please put on a mask to order. Figured I would make mention in case you wish to order to go (and may not have a mask on hand and may not have been expecting to wear one while ordering through the drive thru). The employee had apologized that he only had original and did not have any spicy ready at this time and it was still cooking. This was fine and so the wait time for our order was minimal. Our 3 piece meal came with 1 thigh, 2 drum sticks and a honey biscuit. One drum stick was smaller than the other. I thought the drum stick I had was juicy and I liked the biscuit with the honey glaze on top. Just wished both items I ate were bigger. My husband enjoyed his fried chicken (especially since we very rarely eat it) and wished he had more. Overall, had a good experience. read more

What happened to the wings that churches used to sell with that extra hunk of breast attached??? It's one of the things that separated them from KFC and Popeyes. The flavor is still good, but my incentive to drive those few extra miles and pass up the other chicken establishments has been taken away. And as always, they forgot to put my jalapeño in the bag. read more

Church's Chicken - Tiny wing and a biscuit - Fast Food Near Me - Monrovia, California

July 2022 - Yes I'm reviewing fast food fried chicken, lol. Went on a Saturday around 3pm. Was greeted by a seemingly impatient male supervisor. Didn't hear our order correctly at first and kept talking over us when we tried to clarify. Alright fine. Then while he was gathering our order into a box, we noticed he left out a biscuit (was supposed to get 2). As soon as we opened the box, the man said "Yea the biscuits are in there."... hmm we didn't say anything to him before about missing items so it seemed like an odd comment the make right away. We brought it to his attention that there's one in there but we were supposed to get two. He reluctantly gave us another plus an extra with a "there you go". The extra was nice. I don't want to assume anything but with the odd comment plus the attitude, it did cross my mind that the 'mistake' was intentional. I didn't expect an apology (and didn't get one) but if it was intentional, maybe next time save yourself the trouble and just try to be patient with a customer? Thanks. read more

First time to order. I placed an online order on 6/30/2025. When I went to pick, I was told that 3/4 items were out of order. I told her to cancel the entire order so I didn't get anything. However my order was not canceled, I came again on 7/6/2025, I was told that I needed to cancel it myself online, they couldn't do it. Why didn't you tell me earlier? When the girl told this to her supervisor, she was laughing. I don't understand what the funny point is. Bad service! There was another girl, she's pretty nice. read more

I came here for a deal. I got the 3 piece spicy fried chicken and a biscuit and it's only 5 dollars. My chicken was tasty and the skin was crispy. The biscuit though was a bit bland and didn't have the honey flavor that church is known for. Btw this location is only drive thru right now. They aren't taking walk ins. Also the manager was really nice and helpful in explaining their deals. Now my friend had the 3 piece regular fried chicken and that one was terrible. The chicken wasn't crispy at all so she was dissapointed. That's the reason I'm giving 3 stars. read more

This place doesn't provide itemized receipts and will charge you for whatever to get extra money from you. Be careful and ask for itemized receipt. I ordered 1 three strips chicken spicy and a small mashed potato and was told total of $11 finding out they charged me 2 three strips spicy chicken. I felt it was overpriced for what I ordered then asked for the itemized after they had charged me. She quickly then refund me in cash without correctly cancel the order and re-ring it up. Bad way to do business!!! Not ethical at all. Wonder how many customers have over paid day in and day out. Also, when I return home, the chicken strips is not even spicy what we had ordered. . I am a long time customer of this location and have been coming here for years. I ordered the 16-pc family meal which includes 3 large sides and 8 biscuits. When I got home, I realized that not only was the order missing all of the biscuits, the cole slaw was a small size hidden in a large sized container. With the smaller inner container, it only contained half the amount of the large size. This is extremely misleading and maliciously trying to cheat me out of what I paid for. read more

3.5 starts...Ordered a 3 piece mixed combo via drive through. The guy manning the drive through basically can't hear what I ordered and I had to repeat the same thing at the window... but they were very nice... But what I came here for is the chicken. Waiting 20 min for 6 tender wraps is actually insane. And this is 20 minutes of nobody even coming to the drive thru window to let me know there's going to be any delay.
