I'm usually pretty generous when it comes to reviews, but this place is the pits. I mean, holy crap. I have read some of the reviews, and I guess Todd had a different manager than I. We just moved here, and the in-laws came in to help us unpack. They wanted something so we ordered online to pickup at 8:20pm. It said to pick up at 8:39pm, and it was relatively close. Nothing big, 12 piece, then an 8 piece boneless wings with buffalo sauce, and a few sides. I arrived a minute or so before 8:39 and they didn't even start my order. Didn't even know I had placed one. Should be easy, fried food right? No, they got everything ready relatively quickly beside the boneless wings which they started around 8:50. I know because they gave an eta of 9 more minutes. Even then, and I'm going to rant here. I'm including a picture of my wings. I kid you not, the manager told his employee to cut the chicken tender in half with a plastic fork to make 8 boneless wings. I watched this, 7/29/25. They should post the security camera of this. Holy hell. I asked the manager was he really going to give me cut chicken tenders with a knife and no sauce on them. Not even salt or pepper. He said it was hard, and he's busy. He apologize for the wait, but OMG. Could not believe this. This is an embarrassment, kind've like pooping your pants. You wish it never happens, but when it does. You kind've want to die inside. My specific rating is 3.5 stars. The 1.5 loss is because of the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese needs to be taken off the menu and redone. It tastes nothing like Mac and cheese! The chicken was good, the biscuits were ok. They were a little overcooked which made them a little hard. The pie and corn were good too. read more

I can say finally this location is looking up. There was a manager on duty making sure things done right and on time. He made sure my order was taken quickly and it was accurate, sorry but for this location that had been an issue. I hope y stays this way. Inside was clean and music was not blasting. I ordered the 5 piece tenders chicken comb on line on Sunday 4/20/25. I was very disappointed with the tenders which were very hard as if they had been sitting under the heat lamp for quite awhile. I ended up throwing them in the trash . I have no opinion on their service since I picked up my order thru the drive up. read more

I would say I really enjoy churches just other locations not this one . Poor management and they half ass everything here. So many employees quitting and food quality is not that great some days once in a blue moon it's good but overall bad here. we decided to go to this church is because it was closer to our house. What a mistake. They were waiting on the chicken tenders, and the boss was yelling at the guy to hurry up and make them. All of our other food was sitting there waiting for the tenders, so it all came cold, the tenders were barely cooked the was practically rancid and they didn't even give us our biscuits. Went to drive thru and asked to wait and it was 5 minutes before they took my order. Ordered 10 piece chickens and thighs and asked for spicy but they don't have any at this location so ordered regular and was told it would be a 15 minute wait at 452pm. Also ordered a 5 piece tender meal and first told out of cold and then she said they did have it and then didn't ask for my side and just assumed I wanted fries even know they have 3 sides to choose from. Pulled up to pay and she handed me a coke with a lot of soda on the outside of the cup and asked if she could clean it and she rolled her eyes. Second time coming here through drive through and was heavily disappointed both times. The first time they said they didn't have any tenders so we ended up leaving. The second time they didn't have any spicy tenders but had original. We ended up ordering the original tender combos. They didn't have fried okra either. We also ordered jalapeño bombers which never made it onto our ticket. Oh well. However, when we pulled up to the window we paid for our meal and was informed they didn't have biscuits ready and we would have to wait 6min. We were instructed to pull forward and wait. We did. 15 min later still no biscuits, so we ended up leaving without them. This experience was such a disappointment because we love churches so much. This place never has enough of their food prepared. They always run out of food and tell you that it'll be another 10-15 minutes before they can fill an order. I would never recommend this place. They are very unprofessional in customer serve. We just left after we were told our order would not be ready at the time of placing our order. Not recommend. Too bad nobody wants to work at this location. I waited in line at the drive through for over 10 minutes and never even got the order in. In fact, the line never even moved, it just go longer. After a while I decided to go inside the store and try to order. There wasn't a single person in line and I thought that this was the way to go. However, after waiting another 10 minutes with no one acknowledging that I was there, one of the ladies screamed, I'll be with you in a minute, like I was bothering her or something. 1st time we went to this location they said the wait would be close to an hour because they ran out of chicken so we decided not to get food, the second time we went it took 1hr to get our food, some of the chicken had clearly been out for quite a while, the more freshly cooked chicken was greasy and limp. I have tried to order numerous times over the last couple months in the evening and have repeatedly been told they don't have any biscuits or white meat or chicken strips and last night told no chicken fried steak. ordered chicken strips mashed potatoes and fried okra and extra biscuits and drinks. No napkins tools or sauces...half empty containers of okra and mashed potatoes and chicken strips which looked like shrimp Called and followed up with manager Robert today...and was extremely surprised and impressed with his response. I was told to come back to the store and they'd replace the dinners with what I originally came for at no cost!!! When I came back they prepared it fresh and everything was excellent ...only downfall was o think they forgot the biscuits-but I'll live. I hope Robert is able to fix night crew issues...day crew seems to have it together!!! read more

This is my first visit to this Church's Chicken. I must have passed the store 50 times since it was built. I believe I have eaten at all the Church's Chicken stores in the Albuquerque area over the past 15 years. Decided to try it this store. My wife went in to get a take-out order. We got the 10 piece Chicken mixed dinner. The Jalapeño Cheese Bombers and Honey-Butter Biscuits were excellent! The Cole Slaw was excellent, and I am not a Cole Slaw fan. The Chicken was very good. It was fresh, still hot when we got home, the pieces were larger than I expected them to be. The meat was completely cooked without any excess grease/oil. I would have preferred the chicken to be crunchier, however it was still very good. We plan on returning to this store. read more

I got to the window only to have the woman whose hands were completely covered in flour (I'm guessing that's what that was) open the window and just grunt out the price. Am I to assume she is handling both money AND food. I'm sure that's sanitary. There was no hello, no greeting. I had to then ask if that was my food because there were 3 small containers of food, where I ordered a large. I guess they subbed 3 little for a large? Again, nothing was said. The worst experience of my drive through life. Took 30 minutes from the time I ordered to get my 2entrees. There were only two cars in front of me at 7:25 pm on a Friday night, 6/12. To top it off once I got home the chicken had obviously been sitting for more than hour as it was dry and burned. I waited by the window for 10 minutes and they almost forgot my drinks. My drink tasted like it had cleaning fluid in it. The worst during the 10 minutes I waited they yelled at each other inside the restaurant angrily. This was the worst example of customer service and fast food I've ever had. Ordered fish platter and shrimp platter. First there is no listing with price for either of these items anywhere inside. Receipt said "drink". When I asked for cups was told they weren't included. Showed receipt - they didn't care. Great customer service. Neither myself or my husband could eat the food. It was awful. We ordered chicken at the drive-thru yesterday, and everything was great. The chicken was hot and delicious, the wait in line and the pick-up window was about 10 min., but it was right at 5:30, and there were four cars at the order box ahead of us. Less than 10 min. wioud have been nice, but all in all, it wasn't bad. The three of us ate our fill, had food left over, and it was all for less than $25, even with the extra sides we ordered. Reading the other, negative reviews, I can only assume that they've been able to turn this place around, becuase I'd go there again in a heartbeat. read more

I have been to this church's 4 times. The first 3 the chicken was under cooked. So I haven't been back for about a year. I recently saw the new ads for " the chicken and shrimp platters " and decided I would get lunch for me and my 90 year old neighbor. The food was terrible. I would be ashamed and embarrased to serve food like this to people. The communication with the employees was very poor. The wait time in the drive thru was long ( i was the only one in line ). During the last 3 visits to Church's in Bernalillo, NM the service has been really terrible. 1st visit they messed up my order and argued with me that they were right. 2nd visit, I was told that it would be 45 minutes before any chicken would be ready. The warming tray was full, but I was told it was already sold, we went to KFC instead. 3rd visit was today. I went with 2 friends and we all ordered the same $5.00 special. We each were charged three different amounts. When I took the receipts back to the cashier she said it was because our drinks were each different. Really? Coke is more expensive than Sprite? Plus they were totally out of change and could not access the safe, so everyone had to pay with a credit card (our orders were small). The customer ahead of us asked the worker on the register if she was new because she kept ringing up his order wrong. Just left this place extremely dissatisfied!!! I have never had church's chicken before and i was excited for it. Upon arrival there were three people behind the counter. Two customers in the lobby and I noticed one car in the drive through. I stood at the counter for 15 minutes before the one employee finally greeted us and asked what we wanted. They were SO disorganized, none of the employees knew what they were doing and the manager was yelling at them. After witnessing all that they still took 20 minutes to get my food out to me. There is a new Church's Chicken in Bernalillo - yay! Right? Not so much... I went there shortly after they opened to try their food (I'd never been to Church's before). I'll start by saying that the chicken and sides were fantastic - fresh, still hot by the time I got them home - I have few complaints about the food (except the fries were mushy and not crispy). It's the customer service I received. Twice! I had ordered the 20 piece strip meal. The price for this meal, on the menu, was $32.99. When I looked at my receipt, I saw that it had actually rung up at $33.99. Now I know it's only a dollar difference, but I thought they might like to know that their menu and register prices are off. They were new, and I know mistakes can happen. So I pointed it out to the cashier. It went something like this: Me: "I'm not sure why, but my meal rang up at a dollar more than the posted price." Her: "What do you mean?" Me: "You charged me $33.99, but the menu says $32.99." She turned, looked up at the menu price, then at my receipt, then put her hand out for my credit card and said, "Well, that's the right price." Me: "What is the right price?" Her: "Whatever your receipt says. It's only a dollar." Hmmmm...only a dollar? Okay. Whatever. I was in a hurry, there were 3 people behind me in line, and I just wanted to get out of there. Fast forward to this past Thursday night. Again, I decided to stop to pick up dinner again. Again, I went inside and placed an identical order. Only this time, I wanted the fries well done. Me: "Could I get the fries well done, please." Her (might even be the same "her" as the first visit): "Okay." Me: "Do you need to tell the cook?" (I only asked because she had been hollering our order back to him, item by item, as I placed it. While still facing me. 'EIGHT SPICY STRIPS'...'TWO LARGE FRIES'...) Her: "No, there will be fresh ones up by the time your chicken is done." Me: "They will be well done?" Her: "Uh-huh." Me: "All of your fries are well done?" Her: "Uh-huh." Me: "I'd like them more done than your normal fries, please." (Which earned me an eye-roll worthy of any teenage girl.) So she walked to the back counter, got the attention of the cook, pointed to my order on the monitor, and said "This lady wants her fries well done, I guess." This lady? Anyway, the cashier rings up my order, and it rings up at, you guessed it, $33.99. So I checked the menu again and it still says $32.99. Note to self: Pick your battles, pick your battles! Me: "You overcharged me by a dollar." Her: "Why?" Note to self: Keep your sarcastic answer to yourself. Me: "I would like to pay the posted price." Her: "I don't know how to do that." Me: "Is there a manager on duty?" Her: "Yeah." And she glanced at a woman running the drive-thru, who happened to look up right then. Manager: "What's the problem?" The cashier explained about the price difference by saying "This lady (seriously?) is complaining about the price difference between the menu and her receipt and is only a dollar different and she wants to pay the lower price." Which earned me ANOTHER eye-roll, but this time it was from the MANAGER! But, when she saw that I was not going to just go away, she came over and looked at the register and said, to the cashier, "Did you already hit the #!@$ button?" (I couldn't understand what button she asked about.) Cashier: "Yeah." Manager: (Keep in mind that they are standing right in front of me) "Just give her the dollar she's complaining about out of the till and I'll put one back in there after SHE leaves." And, walking away, adds under her breath, "It's only a dollar!" Only a dollar. I told the manager to keep her dollar. This is not about the stupid dollar. It's the fact that not once, during either visit, did I receive an explanation as to why they can charge more than their posted prices. I never received an apology. I was made fun of, between employees, right in front of my face. Flat-out fact - I was bullied! They had two weeks between my visits to fix the register (or the menu), and didn't. Both times I was made out to be the bad guy...the "lady" who kept complaining about ONE DOLLAR. So, even though I happen to love their chicken, I will not be returning to this store. I went a few months ago and I had to repeat the order many times. One combo and 2 sides (small order). She didn't understand. Then the manager came and she took the order. I tried again today. The was a sign torn off. I had to get out of the car to read it and see the machine was broken. I drove to the window like the torn sign said and they never came to the window. Four cars left while I was waiting. I eventually drove off too. Another sign at the window said they are out of fries, corn and fried okra. Place is falling apart. read more
