Mom and I stopped in here for happy hour recently. As many times as I frequent downtown Mesa, this was my first time into Chupacabra. The bartender was super friendly and came out to our table to take our order instead of waiting for us to come to the bar. Visiting Mesa, and went out with some friends. So I personally hated the sour beer I had, and nothing else on the menu looked appealing but I'm picky. Being DD tho, all for the better. ANYWAYS, staff was super friendly and remembers names quick lol. All my friends loved their beers, the atmosphere was super chill even though it was very busy. You can drink inside which is a bit small, or go out and drink on the huge patio with lots of seating. Also had a food vendor outside who had some great food. Even tho "I" didn't like the selection, I'd still highly recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys craft beers (just not sours lol) read more

You don't want to go here. Trey and team are really not that amazing. The beer options are few. The environment is quiet and full. You don't want to go and eat from the food truck or other nearby places. See, if I convince people not to go I can keep this place all to myself--me and the friends who have made this a home away from home. One of coolest places in DT Mesa. It's a great little brick house taproom. They have a sweet selection of brews! Everyone their is beyond nice and more than knowledgeable about their products. My favorite spot in Mesa to relax and enjoy a beer! However, they really need to get their AMI music system working. I'm used to the alternative music and ambiance, but during my last couple of visits, it has been out of service. As a result, they seem to be relying on some random pop music that's okay but actually makes me want to leave sooner than I normally would. I wish they would bring back that old aesthetic--grungy yet with the ability to choose your own music on the updated jukebox. We love this place, but we really miss the old music vibes! read more

Such a rad new taproom! We don't usually come over to this area due to it being far from home but we were wandering around for a beer and happened upon this place. Boy, it is SMALL! There isn't much seating inside but luckily you have the outside as well. There was a food truck available which we loved the idea, I wasn't very impressed with a couple of the beers I had, they tasted watered down and kind of like nothing. Chupacabra doesn't brew their own I don't think, so I'm assuming it's just the keg they got (hopefully). The staff are super friendly, I loved the decorations inside and the logo. They have a ton of beers so there's something for every one. The best one we had when coming here was an 11% from a brewery in Auburn (we're actually from this area). We met a couple people and enjoyed the environment. However the music was extremely loud, and it was hard to carry a conversation without repeating yourself. Would definitely return and recommend trying out! I think they said they've only been open for two or three months. Would highly recommend! read more

It was my first time out in downtown Mesa and did a little bit of bar hopping on a Sunday evening. Although most places closed early, this one stayed opened longer. Our bartender was very friendly and helpful when choosing a beer. They have a wide selection to choose from and an indoor/outdoor seating area. This taproom is a nice new addition to downtown Mesa. There are a couple breweries and a cider place nearby but these guys have beer on tap and cans from a variety of breweries both in state and out of state. There's a relatively small bar and a few tables. Also plenty of TVs. I got a seat at the bar and the service was friendly. I enjoyed my Hoof Hearted IPA although I wish the can was slightly colder. On Tuesday they were also having a trivia contest which was kind of fun. read more

I finally walked in on a Sunday evening, after seeing their signs out for months. They have a great variety of beers, clearly described on a large screen above the tap row and in print. The interior uses the exposed brick walls and old wood ceiling effectively for a very clean, minimalist look. The bar seats about 16, with two hightops and a couple other tables inside. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, with sturdy wood picnic benches. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. read more

Having moved from Washington state and lived in Arizona for about a year, this is the first taproom I've gone to out of many that felt like home! Even down to the numerous IPA choices and lumberjack facial hair. The drive out to Mesa and limited parking is definitely worth it for this place. They've had about 28 rotating beers on tap the few times I've gone and they've all been solid choices. The hardest part is deciding which ones (or three) that you want to drink. Happy hour pricing is great and I love the small events they put on, like pint glass giveaways for IPA Day and watercolor painting. There's usually a food truck outside too, if you're hungry. This place is amazing! All 3 owners- Gary, Eric, & Trent were behind the bar & each one was very helpful & knowledgeable. Atmosphere is inviting & it looks like these guys put a lot of effort into making this place look great & feel comfortable. Jukebox available as well as complementary water dispenser! They have 28 beers on tap as well as a great selection of red & white wines. You can Rose all day here inside or outside on the patio! Bathrooms are the cleanest & coolest looking in Mesa They also have awesome Chupacabra shirts to purchase as well as stickers, & come on who doesn't love a great sticker. This place is going to be a hit. Apparently this was just their soft opening Week so looking forward to seeing what becomes of this awesome place. Looking for food? Well they don't make any here but they had @chinoz_grill out & per the owners they will usually have food trucks on the weekends. Arguably the best taproom in Mesa. 28 constantly rotating taps as well as a few cans. As of this review, they also have an extremely generous happy hour all days of the week, something I havent seen anywhere else. If you've been to angles trumpet (which in my travels is the best taproom around) in downtown Phoenix, this is basically a mini version of that minus the food. If you find yourself anywhere in the valley this place is worth the trip, just be prepared for a tight squeeze if you come during peak hours. Just make sure you dont get too attached to anything on tap, because once it runs out you may not see it back up for a while. A perfect way to find a new favorite. read more

This is such a great little brew pub and we've been going there since shortly after they opened. Lots of great microbrews on tap and we frequently dash around the corner and get food from Worth takeaway which is awesome! Tonight, they had a food truck "Goat and Ram" with craft pizzas and we decided to give it a go....WOWZA! I never imagined that food truck pizza could be this good! It was truly amazing.
