Very cool little spot in downtown Mesa with an open patio. Great place to go for a chill beer before or after a meal. Not really a food spot and also no great wine options, but this is truly a taproom! Lots of beer options with a knowledgeable staff to help point you in the right direction if you're just looking for a solid pale ale, but don't know much about beer beyond that (me!!).

I was pumped to checkout Chupacabra Taproom doing my Mesa race weekend. Friend at work goes down to Mesa all the time and loves it. I asked her give me one place need to check out for first timer. She like need check out Chupacabra Taproom. Ironic. Post race party one of the coaches decided on Chupacabra!! Hell yay!! It really was perfect spot post party celebrate everyone crushing it on race day. It not very big inside but they have big outdoor seating area. Inside tough big groups we had over ten so split it up at one point. We moved it outside more closer as group chat with everyone. The inside small love fact taproom vibe. Main bar area center most part, all taps lined up, and bar area plus few tables around. The menu is HUGE beers. It hard to choose but ask bartender picked good one. I love the vibe! They don't really serve food. We went across the street someone got pizza and brought it over not problem. Later that night taco truck opens up get food. Someone got nachos. Tried bite and it was good. Highly recommend looking place to drink, hang out with friends, and weather perfect (it was spot on that night) sit outside they music playing hear inside or outside. Cool place to be!!

This place is one of the best taproom I have ever visited in the entire US. A lot of options, *interesting* options from ale to porter. We first tried the mead from Redstone Meadery and imperial porter, Beachwood Mocha Machine. We then got a taste of old stock ale from The Bruery Cire and oh my... I fell in love. Its a high percentage, 18.9%, but not harsh at all. Sweet, if anything. I really fell for it and now I am looking if I could get the whole pack of those. Really friendly people, nice environment, perfect for people to enjoy a nice beer.

Neat atmosphere, very chill and laid back. Great beer. Great customer service. Very helpful bartenders

What a great place to grab a drink! Chupa always has the best IPAs on tap. The vibe is always super chill. There is limited seating indoors, but plenty more outside. They have heaters for the winter, and misters for the summer. There is no food served, but they typically have food trucks parked right outside, or you can go right around the corner to Phantom Fox to grab a delicious pizza to go with your beer. Bartenders are all very friendly! Check it out next time your in Mesa and have a hankering for a drink!

My friends and I LOVE Chupacabra Taproom - It is such a welcomed an awesome addition to downtown Mesa. The space is intimate, with a U shape bar inside, a few tables and standing space, in addition they have a comfortable outdoor patio. The vibe is on point, as the taproom is an older house, with exposed brick, the outdoor patio sports hanging lights and ample picnic tables. We typically sit outside with our doggos and play board games while enjoying a brew. The service is friendly and though there is usually only one or two bar tenders behind the bar, they are on top of it. Now to the beer - They have a great selection, from cans to 20+ beers on tap (guesstimate), the always have a great sour selection, which is my go-to, so I am grateful for that! As far as food, they do not have any in-house food, but offer rotating food trucks and of course, seem to have no issues if you bring any of your own from the other local DT Mesa options. It's a great spot to hang with friends at the beginning, middle or end of your nights, anytime of the week! Check them out!

I LOVE chupa. Downtown Mesa sta Really amazing beer selection. Super chill vibes. Indoor/outdoor seating. Food trucks.

I love Chupacabra! I don't drink alcohol so it's so nice to have a local spot that has a decent selection of NA beers. I'm able to get the Athletic IPA and sit on the nice patio out front and enjoy the quiet side street and nice weather. It's usually quieter on the weeknights and can get pretty hopping on the weekends, with music and occasionally events. The bartenders are knowledgeable and great at giving recommendations. I always bring my out of town friends here as part of the best spots. While they don't have food, they usually have a food truck out front or you can bring your food from one of the local places round the corner.

We stopped in for one drink. Beer was good. Inside is very small. There is an outside sitting area. Friendly staff. Not much else to say.

Fun fact it wasn't until about 8 years ago that I got into crafted beers/breweries, I was never one who liked IPA's and that's what most friends/fam would be into so I never got into until a friend told me that since I like black coffee I need to give a stout a try and I haven't looked back since then. I was out walking the area and found Chupacabra Taproom, thought it looked interesting and went to give it a try. They have about 32 beers rotating at any given time from crafted breweries from Arizona and across the states, but what got my eye was at any given time there is a handful of stouts to try, so I have been on a stout discovery, I really haven't found one I disliked and have found many I love! Chupacabra has become my goto spot to bring friends to grab a beer and catch up. Looking for a cool taproom go give them a try!

We made our way on a Monday night and had no trouble parking in their complimentary lot. Ambiance (4/5): I've always been a fan of breweries and this is no different. Typical brewery feel. The only difference? It's more spacious than most. There's plenty of room, which is always a good thing. Service (4/5): They weren't busy, but the bartender did a pretty good job taking care of us. I was able to order and close out without any trouble. Food (N/A): We had dinner prior, and regardless, Monday is the one night of the week they don't offer food. The rest of the week, they have various food trucks. Drinks (4/5): Whenever I'm at a brewery, I always get a flight. This visit was no difference. They have their beer listed on the wall, along with the style of beer, and the alcohol content. The beers are listed in terms of light on the left, and darker and darker as you go right. Which makes it easy to make a selection. I picked out my flight and enjoyed all of them. Goldwater Crossings has more of the IPA and dark beer varieties than my personal taste prefers, but I still had some good options. Outside of Chandler, they have another location in South Scottsdale.

The meat was tough, not cooked long enough, hard to cut and chew. They put a braised beef au jus gravy on it that was sour and absolutely did not suit. A foreign flavor. One bite and you say, "What's this? It's not corned beef!" No corned/pickling flavor whatsoever. That the gravy may have been rancid is one issue, the fat had that taste, but it was bitter, and simply did not belong on corned beef and cabbage. I'm thinking they might be trying for a Guinness beef broth sauce? But it was not good, way too acidic and off, no Guinness taste, which would add sweetness, just grease. Corned beef requires no gravy, just some corned beef pot liquid, or mustard and real Irish butter will do. The mashed potatoes and cabbage were devoid of butter. Just awash in the unpalatable braised beef grease, simply the wrong taste. I took it home and washed it off and reheated it in a pan of water on the stove to which I added pickling spice, fresh garlic and salt. It did not help. Their 'corned beef' is a brisket that's lost its way. So if you plan to order this dish, insist on 'no gravy', else you'll be sending it back.

What an unexpectedly fun night!…read more I honestly had no idea what I was walking into when a friend told me I had to check out Bikini Lounge because they know I'm drawn to all things eclectic. They were absolutely right. From the moment the friendly bouncer smiled and said, "Step right on in," I was hooked. Yoooow!! The first DJ was incredible. He was spinning all kinds of trip-hop, indie, electronic, and remix-style tracks that had everybody partyin'. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! The best part of the night wasn't the music or even the drinks. It was the people. Every generation was represented. Every fashion style imaginable. Every personality. And somehow it all worked. There was this genuine sense of joy and community that you just don't find everywhere. If you're looking for polished and upscale, this probably isn't your spot. But if you want great music, a welcoming crowd, zero pretension, and one of those nights where you leave happier than you arrived... give Bikini Lounge a shot. I went in not knowing what to expect. I left wondering why I'd waited so long to go.

I ordered the Downtowner Burger because the guacamole and chipotle ranch toppings drew my attention more than anything. Instead of fries, I went with a house salad. It was a busy weekday lunch window, but it felt like our group of 4 kept getting overlooked... I was looking for our server, trying to get iced tea or drink refills, and when we placed our order, all the fries with everyone's orders seemed light and were not hot. When my burger came out, I asked about my salad, and that didn't show up until I finished my burger... again we felt forgotten for all the little things that go a long way. The guac for my burger was bland and I could barely taste the chipotle ranch. For $20, the burger & salads didn't hit as expected. Everyone else had fries, and they felt like 1 order was split amongst all 3. Disappointing experience with the food and service, but it was an ideal location/setting to meet up with friends to catch up. We tried to get in a round of drinks, but service was slow, and we ended up leaving for another spot just for drinks. Given the group of fellas, I'll return to meet up with them here. I will just hope for a better food and service experience than the one we got.

Our server, which I'll loosely use as a way to describe him, was lackluster and we felt as if we were a nuisance to him just being here. Yes it is busy for a football Sunday but the experience that HE could make a difference in he didn't. We'll start with my drink order. I asked for a simple Arnold Palmer with raspberry flavor. I received a red cup with ice and some liquid concoction that left my stomach feeling gross from the first small sip. He seemed confused by my drink order, here is his opportunity to confirm with me my want or to ask another coworker how to make it if he was unaware. But what he chose to bring back was a drink "with 17 pumps of raspberry", his words not mine. We let him know the drink was unacceptable, he changed his tone and service experience after that. Finally I asked for a water instead and that too took almost 5 mins to bring back to me. We ordered the nachos appetizer and onion rings as a starter as we planned on spending a couple of hours to watch the game. We asked for some extra salsa and sour cream for our nachos. It arrived sloppy and dripping into the other. We have one person who doesn't like salsa but likes sour cream. It ruined that for us. He even dropped the plate quickly on the table without saying excuse me or here you go. We chose to immediately cut our visit short asap. We asked for the check and boxes, he didn't ask one thing. Didn't ask if the food was good or if we needed something after saying we planned on being here a while. Our visit was less than 30 mins. What a major shame.
