Formerly Ansamn, Big Dog Eats is a local bagel café and bakery offering fresh bagels, bakery items,…read morebreakfast sandwiches, subs, soups, salads, Choo Choo cheesecakes, cooler drinks, hot & iced coffee, tea, beer, wine, cocktails & mocktails. Like before (Ansamn), the place is cozy with seating up at the counter and a few booths & high top table seating towards the back. They also serve brunch on Sundays. Recently, I've been seeing Facebook posts of Big Dog Eats including their Sunday brunch, which selections change each week and is priced $35 plus tax per person, which is self serve buffet style, choice of mimosa (or non-alcoholic) & a single dessert. I decided to try it out over this weekend since they were offering chicken parm as the featured dish for brunch. I headed over to Milford and strolled in here just after 1 pm. I went with a cranberry mockmosa, took a seat at a booth, then helped myself to the buffet setup in the front area, which offered ciabatta bread pieces, Caesar salad, dressing, Italian wedding soup, breaded chicken parm, red sauce, and fettuccine noodles. The hand breaded chicken parm topped with light sauce and browned melted mozzarella cheese was tender and good. The pasta was cooked al dente, but a bit cold. The salad with crisp romaine greens, shaved parmesan cheese & crostini and creamy dressing was very fresh. The Italian wedding soup had orzo, greens, seasonings, turkey meatballs in a hearty chicken broth. Since the hot soup was in the pot a while, the orzo was very mushy. The ciabatta bread pieces were soft & chewy, great for dipping in the hot soup. After finishing my food. I went back for a second round of tasty eats. I was given a choice of egg nog or cranberry individual cheesecake for dessert and went with the cranberry individual cheesecake cup. The chilled cheesecake cup was dense and semi rich, topped with a cranberry drizzle sauce. After I was done, I paid the check at the register and all good afterwards.
