The steak was hands down the best I've ever had, and the baked potato was cooked to perfection. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his chicken as well. The atmosphere was outstanding--warm, inviting, and full of character. It reminded us of a place Gaston from Beauty and the Beast would love, complete with a charming library that Bella would appreciate! I gave Chuck's Steak House 3 out of 5 stars because there were definitely some positives, but also some disappointments. The decor was nice, the salad bar had a good variety of fresh options, and our service was excellent. Those were the highlights of our visit. Unfortunately, the food was very inconsistent. I ordered the filet mignon cooked medium rare, but it came out closer to rare and was barely cooked. It was also surprisingly chewy and lacked any real flavor. Considering a filet mignon is one of the highest-quality cuts of beef, this was honestly the worst filet I've ever had. The hamburger was also very bland and didn't have much flavor. On the positive side, the grilled chicken and shrimp were both delicious, and we really enjoyed the salad bar. Overall, I wouldn't return for the steak or burgers, but if you're interested in the salad bar, chicken, or shrimp, those were much better choices. read more

Chuck's is a nice restaurant but the food didn't quite live up to expectations. We were seated quickly and were served quickly as well. I had a mojito which was made with a strong amount of mint. They offer an old-fashioned salad bar which was stocked well. The steaks were great but the sides were not. The baked potatoes were dry and my wife had an add-on of crab meat with bearnaise sauce. The bearnaise was mostly mustard and did not go well with the crab or the steak. The restaurant is nice with a great atmosphere. I just wish the food was as good. My husband has been on a mission to find the place with the best steak. This was our first time at Chuck's. It had a very relaxed, hunting lodge kind of vibe. I loved the corner area lined with book shelves. Our waitress Bree was wonderful with great recommendations. They have areas set up with blocks of cheese, cheddar and pepper jack, and crackers for guests. I had the Salmon Filet with salad and baked potato. The filet was seasoned and cook perfectly. They have two salad bars setup for making your salad. Lots of options for salad items. The rolls were hot and delicious. My husband had the New York Strip. He asked for their blackening. He said it was good, but could not really taste the blackening. Debated 4 stars because of that. Everything else was really good. We got the Sea Salt Carmel Cheesecake to go. Located off of main drag in the resort area. Not a ton of parking for the crowd this place brings in. Get there early. They do have several dining room areas and a bar, but it gets packed. They do have an outdoor bench area to wait and extremely limited space inside to wait. Nobody wants to wait outside in the heat so the inside area is very crammed and you are constantly moving to get out of the way of the salad bar and the servers. Service was good. Hostesses were friendly. Server very efficient and friendly. Didn't wait long for food at all. Got several drinks from the bar - beers, pomegranate martini (okay), and Luna coladas (delicious). Didn't order any apps and there's no bread service for the table, but it is included on the salad bar for those entrees that come with that option. Ordered steaks (filet & rib eye), prime rib, and several pork chops. Steaks were great and very tasty. Come with all the sides you can think of as add ons. They have several salad bars throughout the dining rooms. There's also fresh rolls and butter. Don't care what you do, order the pork chop. If you are scratching your head wondering why go to a steak place and order a chop... you can question that, but once you taste it you will understand. Had the brownie, strawberry cake (skip this - lacks strawberry flavor), and key lime pie. Key lime pie was great, and brownie was good. Great place that takes the time and effort to make their offerings delicious while providing terrific service. Update: We visited Chuck's twice this week. The first time I ordered their delicious ALL YOU CAN EAT salad bar. My husband ordered the Senior 8 ounce sirloin cooked rare with a baked potato. The steak was perfectly cooked. Service was good and ambiance was great as always. On our second visit, we we celebrating our anniversary. We helped ourselves to the salad bar, and as soon as we returned to the table, our dinner was out. They did apologize for bringing the food so early and offered us a dessert on the house. (Seems that they had a BUS LOAD of people and they put our order in front of theirs.) I ordered the Senior 8 ounce sirloin cooked rare. My husband ordered the Senior 1/3 of ribs. The BBQ sauce was very good but the ribs had a burnt taste.... I would not order ribs again. Our dessert was strawberry shortcake, and very good. Service was excellent during our meal. When presented with the check, it was over double what it should have been. Obviously, the wrong check but was corrected when it was brought to our waiter's attention. Came for dinner with friends, it was Kim and my first time here. It looked pretty standard and hoped it was not a fast food steak place like Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse. Once we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. It was a large bright open multilevel dining area. Rustic cabin like with huge wood beams. The section we sat in also had the walls decked out with books like a cozy home library. The service was relatively quick despite the place being packed and a line waiting to get in. I got a pulled pork sandwich and Kim got the salad bar and a bowl of lobster bisque (we were in a hurry to attend a local comedy club) Everything was very good and portions just right first us. Chuck's did not disappoint this evening! My first time, and having read the reviews, we took a chance at 5pm and the four of us were seated immediately, with a smile. My friends had given us the low-down and we were sat upstairs. There was a cheese and crackers, dinner roll table upstairs to help ourselves! Once the server provided our beverages and took our order, we all went downstairs to the "one trip to the salad bar included with your meal" and a nacho and popcorn bar off to the side! Seriously!?!?! Warm chips, hot nacho cheese with salsa and jalapeños! DIY nacho bar!! Yes, please! The salad bar fixings were cold and fresh and the plate was not as small as the palm of your hand, like another Yelp-er said! It was 5in long and 3-1/2" wide. Plenty of room for a small salad with your dinner. Our server kept our beverages filled. The steaks came out perfectly! I had a well done ribeye that was tender and delicious. I didn't need it, but I expected the baked potato to be bigger and have more butter and sour cream on it. Totally fine, but it seemed small and lacking. Two of my friends had prime rib one rare and the other medium-well, and another had rack of ribs. Everything looked and tasted great! We were all too full for dessert but so content. Worst steak I have ever had, unfortunately. 2 of our 5 steaks came out cold after a lengthy wait. I'm positive these steaks sat in the window and went bad since our server said he had eyes on it roughly 15 minutes prior to receiving it. After this, the manager visited our table and was very pushy about trying to take them back to the kitchen and warm up the 30+ dollar steaks. Absolutely not. I don't want my overpriced steak taken back and thrown in the microwave. Manager ultimately took off only 1 of the steaks and made a point to say that the salad bar for either meal would not be comped. Really negative experience for the price point and clearly the management does not care if your first time here is positive or not. This place definitely capitalizes on visitors from out of town, the drunk, and the drunk visitors from out of town. Promise you can find any number of better steak houses on the same road. OK - so we went for dinner today. Remember the salad bar at Pizza Hut - this was about the same - maybe a touch nicer. Good rolls. I had a steak with the 'crab bearnaise'. That sauce was just awful - it was not bearnaise at all - but rather tasted like yellow tartar sauce with cold crab with way too much salt. Just gross. We went there for my Dads birthday last Friday April 10 and my fiancés steak was tough and over cooked, my lobster tail was charred and really tough and difficult to get off the shell and my Dads prime rib had no flavor. Food was terrible and way over priced. Maybe they were having an off night but the first impression was a bad one especially at $184! Went here on Tuesday August 12 2025 with my mom, aunt and friend. We actually got there at 4:00 when they opened for Happy Hour that day. There was this big long line and then they opened. We sat ourselves at the bar, where the bartender Kim took care of us. First off Happy hour is 4-6 and they offer special drinks and food for a price, and it's all in the happy hour book they give you! I started with a blue hawaiian, my mom got a titos with sprite, my aunt got a whisky, and not sure what my aunt's friend got. Loved the small talk with kim, and she was very pleasant and friendly. highly recommend her! For food, I ordered a burger that was on the happy hour menu, cooked M. MY aunt, mom, and friend shared steak tips, wings, and another appetizer. Food came out in a timely manner, and I enjoyed my burger! Oh, and they also have a salad bar, but i don't think it's part of the happy hour. My mom, aunt and friend also seemed to enjoy their food. My wife and I both got the special. 55.00 for a 10oz steak and 3 scallops. It was clear the steak was cooked on a grill. However, cooking on a grill adds char, but you have to also season. These steaks did not have any flavor at all. My wife': steak had great char because it was really overcooked! She ordered her steak med rare-it was almost done. I ordered a rare steak and it had no char and no flavor. We were never asked how is the food. When you pay 75.00 per person that is the least a waiter can ask. We ordered loaded potatoes. When they came the toppings were way under portion for the size of the potato. Overall this dining experience was very disappointing. The meal cost 150.00 for two people. We had the special and 1 appetizer. We paid for top shelf service and received a bottom shelf product. I was hoping for a good dining experience and I was willing to pay for it. Arrived at 4pm, when they open, due to the reviews regarding the lack of parking and long lines to get in. That was not an issue last night, most likely because school opened this week. We sat ourselves at the bar to enjoy Happy Hour deals. They had free, self serve popcorn and nachos and a nice happy hour menu to choose from. The salad bar is the way to go and is $11 by itself or $5 with a sandwich, burger, ribs, etc. We enjoyed the drinks and food. The atmosphere is just OK and could use a makeover, but it was clean. This was a place that took us completely by surprise. When driving by, it looks like an old Chinese buffet place. However, when you get inside, you get that log cabin feeling with all of the hunted and stuffed animals all across the walls. it kind of reminded me of the older days when you had to get your own salad, such as a ruby Tuesday's or Tony Romas, but this was a little more classier than that. I was very satisified with the meal that I ordered - a 24 oz boneless cut of prime rib served with hot au jus sauce. They provided plenty of horseradish as well (as i love my spice). It was cooked to perfection (i asked for the rarest piece that was available, and got a very tender piece of meat). The salad bar was nothing special, however was kept clean and replenished most of the time. there was a great selection of different types of lettuce, as well as many fixin's. They also made some amazing homemade rolls that were readily available at the salad bar. My friends ordered a filet mignon cooked to med rare, and it came out a little overdone, but the flavors were perfect, so it didn't taste like you were eating a steak that was cooked to medium / medium well. My other friend ate the NY Strip and that came out cooked just as well. Our server was wonderful and kept an eye out for us as we were consuming a lot of water (we just played 18 holes of golf). Overall, the ambience was very appealing (if you are okay with seeing all of those mounted animals), and the food was very tasty as well.
