The scale of this place is massive, but the scent of wood smoke makes it feel instantly welcoming. Located right across from Broadway at the Beach, it's a unique spot that nails both coastal seafood and high-quality, in-house BBQ. Since it was Ash Wednesday, we went the meatless route and ordered the fried catfish and their famous fried pickles. Both were stellar--crispy, fresh, and flavorful. Our server, Summer, was an absolute standout; true to her name, she was a total ray of sunshine and provided the kind of attentive service that makes a meal memorable. First of all this is my 3rd review ever so you know it's something going on. This place wasn't packed when we came in nor when leaving. We came after going to the aquarium due to the reviews. It started off very well, our server was giving us options for what to get and what tastes better and working with switching out sides , so great customer service on that one! After we ordered ....ghost town. We waited over 30 mins to get our order and once it came cool again. The menu stated the "seasoned fries" no season, the shrimp was battered shrimp fried. The collard greens tasted like straight vinegar and hot sauce. My son said his burger tasted like dirt but they forgot the cheese on his burger. After we ate my husband asked for a refill and our server went MIA. The table behind us even asked if there was a shift change due to no one coming by to help. After a few more minutes went but I stopped the nearest server to ask for a check and a box and she looked as if I asked her an off the wall question , shrugging her shoulders saying "idk , idk where your server is" ughhhh ok lol I guess they don't just help as they go along. Then our server came and we checked out. Overall it's just a tourist spot I think it would be better off going to mellow mushroom next door or hitting up WaWa on the road back home. Food was nothing above "cooked food" the chicken didn't taste smoked, all the burgers should be labeled off as coal Pattie's due to them being so dry. The hush puppies were like dry mattress balls. Last year when we went here we had a much better experience. Their prices have gone up a significant amount. The all you can eat fish used to be $18 now is $24. We were seated at a table where 2 of the seats were right by a garbage can which wasnt thrilling. The food was good just like last time but it just didnt feel like it was good enough for how much it cost. The brisket was a lot fattier this year, not just fatty but bits you dont want to actually eat. Our server was nice but not present very often. I didn't think our group was too big (11 two of which were babies who cant eat yet so really 9 that needed to be served) yet it was hard to get drink refills and I think our tip got auto applied which normally Im ok with a big tip if the service is great it just wasn't. Visited here for dinner while on a short vacation. Hubby ordered flounder platter and I had their Piggy Smalls platter. The service was great. She kept checking on us even and offered her suggestions when we had questions about certain things on the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant is very casual and family friendly. Small groups to larger groups are welcomed. Large mounted TVs can be found by the bar and throughout and they offer a variety of viewing selections. We'll definitely return next time. read more

I had the smoked club with soup. The sandwich was good. It would have been better with a meat that they smoked instead of just regular cold cuts. If you're willing to wait an hour and a half for average food, this would be be the option. The wait time for a walk in was pretty average for a tourist area, around 50 minutes for a table of 5. Once we were seated, it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to come and ask about drinks and another 10 to get them. When we finally got the chance to order, the table ordered a side salad and fried pickles for our appetizers along with our entrees. We were then barely checked on for the next hour as we waited for at least the appetizers to arrive, being offered no explanation for it. Of course it was a busy night, but waiting an hour for subpar pickles and a salad is a bit much. The food thankfully arrived 15 minutes after we got our appetizers. Last night I went to dinner at Bubba's fish, camp and smokehouse with a bunch of friends. We all had wonderful service. The waitress came to our table all the time to make sure that we had all we needed and how our food was and if we needed more refreshments. The ambience was delightful, and the manager asked us afterwards our experience was. My food was delicious. I ordered the grilled mahi-mahi mini tacos, which were an appetizer, but they filled me up for a meal. I would definitely recommend this place for a large group of people. Absolutely horrible, we paid nearly $70 for a to go order. My husband's oyster plate consisted of a few little pieces of oysters and the rest oil soaked breading. His fried okra was way undercooked. My shrimp plate was saturated in oil and all hush puppies were full of grease. I think this crap was passed off to us because it was a to go order. They figure that a lot of people are tourists and eat there passing through. The company really needs to return our money because we had to throw away $70 of crap. We were hopeful about this spot since we like the other Myrtle Beach chains owned by this restaurant. This one will be a "skip" for us in the future. Our server Jordan was super nice, but everyone else we encountered was cold and annoyed. 45 minute wait at 6;30 on a Saturday which is to be expected. But once we sat down we had an additional 35 minutes for appetizers and 45 minutes after that for food. Crazy long wait, we were incredibly irritated as others around us were getting their food and leaving when they sat down after us. We were there for almost 2 hours just to eat dinner. This is a pretty solid local "chain" spot. Good bbq and the seafood is prepared well. I loved my oyster poboy. The fried shrimp was tasty too and great creamy coleslaw. If you're there for dinner a photographer will try to take pictures of you and your party. If you're not put off by this type of thing it's fine. But it's a little much. Our server Danny was good and the food came out quickly. This was my 2nd visit and won't be my last. We stopped for lunch on our way out of town. We sat down right away, and the menu was huge, including a lunch menu addition. Our server was not the best (seemed nervous, quiet, and not attentive). Other than that, the food was tasty. I came in for lunch on a weekday afternoon, just after opening. I was seated at a booth parallel to the bar and the bartender was my server. I appreciated that they weren't lazy in the sense that they walked to my table instead of shouting over the bar (happens a lot with me). I had the clam chowder to start. It was very different, but good and chock full of clams. It reminded me a lot of Tony's clam chowder, if you've had it. I had the brisket grilled cheese. It was fantastic and filling. The bread was toasted perfectly and didn't get soggy. I don't eat brisket but it was tender and smoky. The sauces complimented the brisket perfectly. The sandwich was rather messy but I enjoyed eating it. The bartender/server was new and let me know but wasn't obnoxious about it. They had a few questions to clarify which was great to ensure I got what I ordered. In fact, I was tempted by them to pick what I ordered. It was slow and they made nice chit chat and overall was a very wonderful experience. I plan on coming back or visiting one of their sister restaurants in the future. read more
