I never thought I'd find myself reviewing Chuck E Cheese. I (thankfully) don't have kids and are therefore not invited to the kid parties. But, a good friend was taking her daughter there for a little fun, and I went along for the 'experience.' The place is smaller than I thought it would be, but the kids didn't seem to mind. A good thing, since the audience is young, is that the games are geared for really young kids. There was very little to interest any older kids (like me, haha!), so I was kinda bored. Pizza looked scary; beer was a little pricey. And, speaking of scary, what is up with Chuck E Cheese? He's a huge creeper rat! He cruised around, leering at kids, leading them, pied piper style, for free tickets. My friend's daughter was afraid of him and kept saying, 'He should get outta here!" I would never choose to go again, but I'm glad I went. It was definitely an experience. It's not too bad to let your kid run around for a while for ten bucks, but for me, there's a happy hour somewhere I'm missing =) read more

Based on years of visits... There is rarely someone at the register/prize area when we arrive or when it's time to cash out. You have to stand there and hope someone will emerge from the door that leads to "the back". They do know they exist so customers can pay for their services & goods, right? When they finally appear, no apology or explanation. The only employee dependably on the floor is the person stamping families (for security) as they enter. Many games are broken or out of tickets at any given time. Good luck finding anyone to assist. The women's bathroom is always a disgusting mess. The employees are nice if you can locate them. Well, it's better than the one in Thousand Oaks, is the best thing I can say. I went to a kid's birthday party here. The birthday kid's mom complained that they basically do not answer the phone ever here. I can see why. It is crazy busy. Someone has got to open up another place like this and try to do it right, unlike so much of what is wrong with this place. They do the birthday parties like a factory. You sit at long lunchroom style tables near the front, which used to be cute animatronic shows when I was a kid, but now it's pretty much screens with music videos, and occasionally the things sing, but it's all movie studio-esque, and I hate it. The fact that they only sing for parties sucks. Not only that, but they don't do each kid's birthday separately, they bring them all up, and rush through them. Each party gets a two hour window and it is like an assembly line. In, pizza, tokens, song, cake, leave. They will make sure you don't overstay your two hours, as they will be immediately prepping for the next party before it is even time. It isn't particularly clean, but it's cleaner than the last one I went to, and it's just so loud. At least most of the games were working. read more

My sister chose this place to celebrate her son's 3rd birthday. And I must say, it was a very disappointing experience. First of all, there was a really foul smell when u walked in. When was he last time they cleaned the carpet? Let's talk about the menu. My husband and I ordered iced tea and the rest of the party wanted a soda. The menu said that iced is $1.89 and adult soft drinks are $2.49 each, that's if you're paying close attention to the menu board and your receipt. Because no matter what the menu said, they will charge you $2.49 for iced tea as opposed to the $1.99 that's posted in their menu. When we brought that up to Mario, the order taker, he said that they don't even have a separate key for iced tea on their register. Thy only have adult soda for $2.49. My husband said they need to remove that from their menu and To that, Mario replied; "the menu has fries on it and they don't even sell fries!" Parents love this place for their kid's birthday!!! And often their kids are freaked out seeing the big gynormous mouse for the first time in their lives. I know mine did, I celebrated my son's birthday at CEC when he's 3, now he's 15. I was just there and definitely same set up, a few more interesting games and a rocket ride. Oh I do like the Fruit Ninja on a 48' TV. I only have one complaint, the restroom was filthy and atrocious. Papers everywhere, toilets weren't flushed. I recommend as busy as they are, they should keep the restroom monitor every hour. Besides that, keep the party going!! read more

This place gets a 1 star mainly because of their rude staff. I was standing in line with my 2 year old in my arms and my daughter in front of me for over 20 minutes. Only one cashier was helping with redeeming prizes. Line kept getting longer and people started to cut in line. Finally another cashier walks over and asks the people behind me for their tickets. I never thought I would experience this. I saw the manager Liz, putting the vegetables back in the bowls with her bare hands. So I then call her out , how disgusting she is, and she responded with catching her off guard. I then asked for the manager, and she happen to be the manager. Omg! Then when few minutes later I see her spraying some yellow liquid on the fruits and vegetables, so then I get closer and saw she was spraying a disinfecting all purpose cleaner. Second, I order an endless salad bar and receive a a flimsy paper plate that I could probably get at the dollar store- if I am paying for a $10 salad I'd hope to get a better plate which they used to have and now serving a stupid plate that ADDITIONALLY gets soggy after eating a salad! What angers me is that he came to us with an attitude like if we were in the hood. Claiming we are free loaders. After he collected the plates and cups from table. Demanding one of his coworkers to collect the salad claiming we were freeloaders. I'll accept that we were wrong as well. I'm sad what's been happening to this place that used to be so fun for the kids. Had back to back 'one star' experiences after numerous five star experiences. It seems like new management or something because it's changed... a LOT and it's just not fun here anymore. Okay... ORDERING I took one of my kids here as a 'treat'. They are always SEVERELY understaffed at the ordering station... have been for YEARS. It was one girl there... a mob of kids waiting for someone at the prizes case to the left of that. I had a coupon for two drinks, a pizza, and some tokens. I eventually got to the front of the crazy line, was handed two cups and two plates. **Why do they not put out the plastic silverware!? You have to always ask them for that, which becomes impossible with having to remember to do that while ordering, since you assume it's out somewhere, then trying to awkwardly work your way ahead of the line to simple get a word in to ask for it. Just put it out somewhere like every other restaurant! TABLES The tables were about half-filled with people, the other were half-filled with trashed "on" the table... and below it. No joke. I've been there so many times before and this was new. It was a disaster of pizza goo, old plates, trash, etc... and because they don't have enough people working these days, it was a mess and I couldn't use any of the open tables. The ONE worker at the register was mobbed with a bigger line, but I needed to ask someone about getting a table cleaned/wiped... and, I realized they gave me a regular cut then a tiny kids cup... when I paid for two regular cups. I found... RUDE MANAGER TYPE I saw the lady who looked like a manager, since she had one various lanyards. She was stocking the salad bar herself, I asked her, "Is there anyone to clean one of these tables out here?" Instead of being embarrassed, she got snappy at me, "I JUST got here, what do you need!?" "Um, a clean table would be great." (Meanwhile, my six year old is standing around still, not playing games.) "Fine, I'll get someone to clean it." I then asked, "And I paid for two regular drinks, can I get this small cup as a regular one?" Again, she's pissed, "Let me see your coupon." Sure enough, all it says are two drinks, pizza, etc. She says, "No, that's one adult, one child drink." Um, no it doesn't! So, if two adults came in, they would randomly just give the second adult a kids drink? She wouldn't exchange it... which then means I, as a parent, having to leave my child alone at the table or our stuff/food at the table to take her with me, to simply get refills. Wow, some management at a kids place. That was also new to see. RUDE WORKER #2 I was about to get our drinks and this worker literally bumps into me, cuts me off, reaches his arm across me and refills his drink, then heads back to the kitchen area with not so much as an "excuse me" or "sorry." TABLES PT 2 Nobody came to clean so I arm-barred off the top into a pile, took that to the trash, then leaned over and picked up the old pizza ends and debris under it, then asked for a rag to clean one of the 12 open tables. It was exhausting, when it's supposed to be a "fun" time with your kid. In fairness, about 15 minutes after that, someone came out and started cleaning the other tables. FOOD The pizza came out on time, tasted great... personally, I looooove the pizza here more than I should admit. So that was fine. Then we washed our hands and got to playing games. GAMES First of all, what happened to the actual "video games"!!!? They GUTTED this place. No more jungle gym for the kids and the few video games they "had" are now replaced with all ticket games... and they have a new points system like Dave and Busters. What sucks is that, it used to be such a great value having all of the games at a token each... but now they're getting greedy. The games they have left are Transformers, Terminator, a wave racing game, and a car racing game. The rest are all ticket games. Our first game we played... we won however many tickets but the dispenser was empty. WTF guys, really? We had to tell a worker at the front. Then again, we put money in another game and it had a malfunction where it looked like it was about to start... then hung... then game over. Again, WTF? Then this "new" trend continued... another game took our credits then rebooted. A skeeball game was about to kick out tickets but that was jammed and nothing came out. Then another skeeball game took the credits but wouldn't let the balls out. Fortunately, I kept telling the guy, which got annoying for us both, but he credited us the credits on our card, so that's nice... but my God, who's maintaining these games!? The same people in charge of cleaning the tables!? BATHROOM Totally a mess. And, why isn't there a kids' level sink or at least a step for the kids? OVERALL I just isn't fun anymore, clearly horrible management now. I hope they fix this asap. read more

OK OK, so my sisters and I are freaks and we go to this Chuck E. Cheese at least once a year for one of our birthdays even though we are all over 18. BUT don't knock it till you try it! The pizza is fantabulous here! The crust has a touch of sweetness to it, is not too thick, and the toppings are just delectable. A combo is what I usually get, but simple pepperoni is great too. Look in the Sunday paper before you go to get a coupon for $19.99 for a large pizza, 4 drinks, and tokens! This particular one just got remodeled so it's a little more fun for the kids. We like to play the games where you can get the most tickets so that we can trade it in for stuff like cool plastic rings. I suggest that you go with a bunch of friends (FUN friends) and try it out. It's hard to really review Chuck E. Cheese fairly - or if anything - for everything. I don't play the games, know the prizes, or even the salad bar - but I've been to this particular Chuck E. Cheese at least 3 times, and generally we get fairly good service. Every instance in which I've been to this particular Chuck E. Cheese has been for birthday parties. The food is typical for the restaurant and is pretty consistent. Despite the constant crowd, being part of a birthday party, I was pretty disappointed with this last trip to Chuck E. Cheese. Granted, you are allotted 2 hours for your party, but it felt like they were rushing us out just about right after we sat down and ate. They had the table cleaned and set up for the next party before the 2 hours were up. If anything, they were even giving us a guilt trip for sitting in the tables surrounding the "party tables". The place is definitely over priced and under serviced. Not a place I would frequent aside from birthday parties. read more

I was at Chuck E Cheese in West Hills for a birthday party last weekend. My three year old son climbed into a large maze that travels along the ceiling, and then I noticed that there was AN ADULT MAN inside the maze. I freaked out and asked the prize girl to get a manager or security, and for 7 agonizing minutes I screamed for him to come out, and I couldn't see my son through the largely opaque maze. No one ever came over. Finally my son came out, and I asked to see a manager. The girl manager (had to be 20 years old) told me that adults are allowed in the maze (!!!!) and that they could only help me if he was MOLESTING my son. I'll bet parents don't realize that Chuck E Cheese is OK with ADULT MEN hanging out inside of a maze that you cannot see inside of with a bunch of three and four year olds. NEVER again. A dangerous policy for a place that attempts to deliver a feeling of safety inside of its walls with the hand stamping at the door. Horrifying. read more

This place is getting more and more dirty every time we visit. CEC is a necessary evil when you have kids but seriously they need to step up their game here. When we come in the evenings the bathrooms are filthy, unflushed toilets etc. we've been here over an hour and the tables that were dirty when we got here are still dirty. Floors are gross. Half the games don't work properly. We came a week ago rather late in the evening and I gave the benefit of the doubt but then tonite during prime time.. Same problem. I get it, kids can be dirty little beings, but come on you cater to them! KEEP IT CLEAN. Even though this is close to home looks like we have to find a new CEC. read more

I cannot believe what just happened!!!! I went to this location for both of my sons good friends birthdays. I have been to this location before for other birthdays even my younger sons birthday. Today will be the last time I step foot into this location ever again!!!! While we were at the birthday party we had the employee, Gerald, pause our game cards so we could all go eat and celebrate the kids birthdays. After we were done eating we tried to use our game cards again. Unfortunately the game cards did not work. When I asked Gerald what happened he said the game cards could not be paused. HE WAS THE ONE WHO PAUSED THE CARDS!!!! He called over his general manager and proceeded to tell her that he never told me we could pause the cards. I asked the general manager how that could be true if he was the one who paused the cards. He said I was a liar and none of what I was saying was true. To make matters even worse he called me a liar in front of my kids. After this horrible experience was over, I asked the general manager for the corporate number. She said she was on break and continued to eat. What ever happened to the days of customer service???? Please do not have your childs birthday parties here!!! I am not happy with this location. I purchased $35 worth of play cards. On my second transaction, my third card was empty and inactive yet it should have had 18 min of play time. I wasn't upset until I asked the general manager for help and she blamed me for not getting a receipt. Their machines give you the option to get a receipt and I hadn't noticed. The guy who works on the machines could tell I purchased the card and that I hadn't gotten my full credit but he still didn't help. The general manager Nalleli was rude and blamed me instead of assisting. Their machine is not working properly and you should never blame the customer. I called their customer service number but their offices are closed. I would give them zero stars if I could. I do not recommend this location. read more

Normally, I try to avoid Chuck E. Cheese as much as possible. It's loud, crowded, messy and kind of annoying. But I have a 2 and a 4 year old who love the place. My youngest son was turning 2 and I figured I'd have his birthday party here. My mom suggested that I do the party on a Monday night, so avoid the annoying things mentioned above. I scheduled the party from 6-8 on a Monday night (Rockstar package) for 11 kids and 15 adults. It was great. It wasn't crowded, messy or annoying. It was perfect and the kids had a great time. Since it was the only birthday party there that night, they got a lot of attention from Chuck-E. and my little guy was thrilled. The party hostess assigned to us was so helpful and checked in with us often. The manager on duty was also very attentive. I was a little nervous about having a party here based on having attended birthday parties here in the past. But doing it on a Monday night really made it a different kind of experience. read more

We had a large size party and he was just on top of every thing! If we needed more plates, he brought them, if we needed more cups he was on top of it! On the weekends this place is pretty hectic, but he made our birthday celebration the best!!! Towards the end of the party, Chuck E. Cheese sang my son happy birthday and moved on to the next party.
