Chuck E Cheese This is a review for my experience at Chuck E Cheese located on Fontaine Road in San Jose, CA on a Friday afternoon. LOCATION: This CEC is two story and I didn't have trouble locating it. Their parking lot is pretty huge, but it may get packed on a weekend. FRONT ENTRANCE: They usually stamp everyone's wrists for safety, but now they ask that you take a selfie on your phone with everyone in your party. *I would have one person take the photo and just send it to everyone after. HOURS: Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm Friday 11am-10pm Saturday 10am-10pm FOOD SERVICE/TICKETS: They have a summer pass program that I purchased. I went for the gold member for $90. It lasts until August 29th. With the package on the FIRST day of activation, it comes with: one large one topping pizza two reusable drinks 120 minutes of games (wristband) one cotton candy 60 minutes free play card for a friend (you can redeem it on the same day or save it for another date) With the pass you have 120 minutes of game time ONCE a week till August 29th. *I recommend downloading their app. You can scan your receipts and get points to unlock specials or free game play, as well as free tickets. Food: Pizza is delicious! Came to our table hot and flavorful! Cotton candy is always a favorite too! Drinks: There is a person who will serve you. Just bring the cups and they'll refill it for you. There is no self service. SAFETY/GAMES: This CEC is always clean! Thank you! There are several sanitation stations around the game areas as well. I love all of their game selections! On the second level, it is geared towards the adults. They have Halo, water blaster adventure games, Mario go karts, Jurassic Park, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The ground level is more kid friendly games and games where you can earn tickets. So much fun! I love that this CEC is open! It's two story and there are so many tables available. I also love their prize area! They have awesome toys and cool prizes! *Some things they can work on: 1) Their lines to get to the cashier tend to get disorganized. Maybe have stands and arrows to help clear the confusion. 2) We tried to get some hand sanitizer at a station, but it was empty. 3) I didn't see CEC workers wiping down games or tables during the entire duration of my time there. The CEC was clean, but I think families would appreciate it if they saw a worker actively sanitizing games often. 4) Some games were temporarily out of order or there were some delay in the movements of the water blasters I used. For example for player 1 the shooter worked fine and hit the targets, but when I was using the player 2 blaster, I had to aim higher and move it more to get it to the right position. Food: YUMMERS! We loved it. It's good. Not sooo good but it's tasty. Pizza delicious. Can't go wrong with pizza. There's a lot of reviews with hair in the food but my logic is "outta sight outta mind" hahah it was bussin Price: uhhh for games and food I felt like I could get 4 lbs of shrimp and 2 lobsters market price for a seafood boil lol BUUUUUUUUT think about the kids! Being a San Jose native, I've gone to this CEC location since childhood. It's an SJ staple. However, my 5 stars is aimed not only to the establishment, but specifically to Francisco, a staff member. During tonight's school fundraiser, he was incredibly patient and kind to my family, being clear, concise and professional every time we interacted with him. He was clear with communication and was extremely polite when needing to work on specific machines we were using and all around made our experience tonight stand out. He even informed us of the different pass tiers to make coming here more worth it, where you can get different tiers for 2 month spans with free plays- something we weren't aware of until today. He deserves his flowers. We've had good experiences whenever we come, but this time was so great, I felt compelled to review. Great job, Francisco! Keep it up. read more

My beautiful cutiepatootspie said she was bored staying at this establishment. She also mentioned the food was "alright" and "ain't allat" so i highly recommend making the food options available better or expand your menu. Now since she is always right i highly advise you fix these issues and make this chuck e cheese less boring. Id start off by giving out free crunch bars and dr peppers. I'd also recommend decorating this place with lilies roses and tulips to make it seem more modern and pleasing to the eyes. This is hands-down the only Chuck E. Cheese in the bay area worth visiting. I honestly don't know how they are able to maintain this place so well but it's obvious that their team is committed to providing top notch customer service, delicious pizza, and a plentiful salad bar. Also want to comment that the restrooms are clean and I observed the person bussing the tables in the seating areas. She would literally pull out each table to clean behind and under it after each guest. This is better service than even Disneyland (at least as of late)! Being a single mother, a teacher, and just being HUMAN is a freakin' struggle sometimes. Especially in the month of August!!!! Not only was it the month where I was still trying to figure sh*t out with our new life, I also had to move to a different second grade classroom, then I found out the week before school started, I had to move to a fifth grade classroom and learn a whole new different curriculum. Can you imagine all the packing and unpacking I had to do?!?! AND it was also my daughter's 6th birthday. YIKES!!! I bet my blood pressure was going bonkers! I'm surprised I didn't have a stroke! Fortunately, my daughter wanted to celebrate at Chuck E. Cheese. It was pricey since we had something like forty adults and about twenty kids, but I was willing to pay cuz I DID NOT want to have to organize anything!!! It was easy to make a reservation on their website. FYI, deposit is required. Cake was also taken care of, as well as party favors! Pizza and drinks for kids were already included in the package. I could've ordered appetizers with food and drinks for the adults, but I waited 'til the day of the event to order since I wasn't sure how many people were really coming. Big props and a loud shoutout to our party organizer, Josue! Or Josh? Joshua? I am truly sorry for not remembering his name!!!! But he took care of everything! Food and drinks arrived on time! The appetizers were pretty good. I think it was a combo of wings, bread sticks, and other fried stuff. Pizza was oily and salty... but, hey, it was edible! I was too busy socializing to take pics. Oh and my phone was trippin'!!!! Kids and adults had fun playing! He also let us stay at our table for one more hour since our guests were still having fun after two hours. Even worse, after reloading my kids cards twice I was wondering if I should have just shelled out the $150. If you want a once in a lifetime kids experience of going here sure, but it's not worth it for everyday, and I just felt ripped off. I just had my 4 yo daughter's birthday here and i had a great experience. It was easy to book online. Easy to call to get customer service. On the morning of everything went smoothly and our server was on top of everything. All of our guests had a blast with unlimited play for 2 hours. The games were updated and impressive for all ages. My kids have been asking to go to Chuck E. Cheese. I haven't been in years. Decided to come on a Wednesday it was just our luck that 60 min of all you can play is $19. You can pause your card if you need to eat or take a break. We played for an hour this location is big but majority of it is eating areas. Most of the games we tried to play were not working which was a bummer because there were quite a lot of people there. They have two VR rides there. No wipes to wipe them off before the next child. When using the card it would say tapped too soon even if the prior game you played was finished which stalled the timing. The gifts are typical of course you need a lot of tickets for the bigger prices but it seemed like only one game gave plenty of tickets but everytime we walked by it was busy. Probably won't be back but not the worse experience. Definitely would have to be on Wednesday when it's cheaper don't think it would've been worth $34/hr play. read more

This was the second time in a row we celebrated our son's birthday in this location. We love it, it's 2 stories and has tons of room for big families to order food and celebrate while kiddos play games. There was a gentleman (which I didn't catch his name not sure if his a manager there) he was tall and had a blue shirt on held our cakes in the fridge for us as it was around 100 degrees out! I recent went to this location and it is by far the largest / hugest Chuck E. Cheese in the bay area! It looks like they have added new make over or kept it well. This is the best Chuck E. Cheese we've been to. I'll start by saying that we never eat at Chuck E Cheese so I cannot speak to that. However, the entire place appeared to be clean and well kept. We went on a Friday evening and it was busy, but there are plenty of games. Most of them were in well working condition. My daughter was obsessed with the virtual reality game. The best thing about this location is that it still does paper tickets. I get streamlining the ticketless tickets at Chuck E. Cheese.. but it's so much more enjoyable for the kids to be able to see the tickets their getting.. even if it means us parents end up loading them around. This location is about an hour from us but we will drive the distance to go back! read more

Less fun fact: Out of 12 fast food pizza joints my housemate and I hit up on our quest to find the best fast food pizza, this is at the bottom of the list. It wasn't so much that I was expecting better from this pizza, as much as I wasn't expecting it to be as bad as it was. I mean, this place is known for pizza and play. We were originally going to get the cheese pizza, because like, it's in the name, but then we came across many advertisements that claimed Chuck E Cheese's pepperoni pizza beat out Pizza Hut's in a random taste test. We found that to be almost unbelievable, so we got the pepperoni instead. Our skepticism proved to be valid, as it was not only much worse than Pizza Hut (which we had a few days prior), it was literally the worst pizza we had during this quest. The crust is much thinner than I remember, and the quality of pepperoni seems to be pretty low. The cheese is chewy, and has a taste that brings nostalgia, but isn't very good otherwise. To add insult to injury, this medium, one-topping pizza was ~$20. This review goes out to pizza lovers, or anyone who thinks, "hey, I haven't had Chuck E. Cheese pizza in a while." Think what you want of the Chuck E Cheese brand, but if you enjoy them and have no issues with Chuck E Cheese like myself, I'm here to say that THIS LOCATION IS THE BEST LOCATION. Many pretentious people who like to think they live in superior areas such as those pretty much anywhere other than East Side San Jose--where this Chuck E Cheese is located, like to discredit how great this one is just because where it's located. I have personally heard people from Milpitas call this location ghetto without any merit but simply where it's located. They probably don't put a Chuck E Cheese in Milpitas because it smells over there anyways. But anyways, I've been to many locations throughout California, and this one still is the best. Right off the bat it doesn't look like any ol' strip mall building that Chuck E Cheese decided to open up in. This location actually makes you feel like you are about to enter something great. This might be the only 2 story location ever. It has that gigantic Chuck E displayed outside. The nice 2 story wide open space just makes for a superior experience compared to the rest. The bigger space also allows for more seating, more games and more arcades. Unless it is super busy you can always find a seat somewhere quiet if you don't want to be in the mix of crazy. Food is what you expect if you been to another location. Again, when compared to all the other locations this is the BEST location bar none. read more

We've been coming here since 2005 and have never had an issue with the wings or pizza. We were enjoying our pizza and wings until we noticed that the wings looked a bit off and tasted weird. I smelled the wing I had just taken a bite of and it legit smelled like rotten chicken. We opened up the rest of our wings with our hands and smelled them and some of them had such a horrible smell that it made us gag from how nauseous we got. We took the wings back immediately to the kitchen staff and we spoke with the manager. He did not apologize and even complained about having to give us a refund. This is my favorite Chuck E Cheese in the Bay Area, and I have visited various locations. This one is 2 stories, so there are plenty of games for the kids to enjoy. At this location, Chuck E Cheese comes out every hour on the :30 mark (10:30, 11:30, 12:30, etc). Its great to see all the kids waiting for Chuck E cheese outside the employee door. When he comes out, all the kids are constantly running and chasing after him. Sometimes Chuck E Cheese will throw tickets or he may do a dance in the stage area. If you have a young toddler, this may be a bit dangerous since the toddler may get trampled over. I like how there is a kiddie ride section and they all cost one point. There are also other arcade games like water gun, whack a mole, skee ball, etc. You will need at least 1000 tickets to get a decent prize at Chuck E Cheese. This location can get packed and crowded very fast. By noon, there is definitely no parking, so I would recommend parents to come early if possible. There are always birthday parties being thrown here every weekend, too. read more

I had a pretty decent time today! They switched to cards that you swipe to access games instead of tokens- which I don't mind but will miss dearly as it was present throughoutthe times I went as a child. The games themselves are okay- just your run of the mill skeeball machines and coin droppers with a couple of unique ones tossed in for variety (piano tiles, crossy road-esque games). The only issue I have (that isn't too big) is that the card scanner is a bit flawed in that you don't swipe; you have to hold your card against the scanner for a good chunk of time and even so, your scan mught not load and you have to repeat the whole process of frustratingly holding your card against whatever machine you chose to play. Tickets are kind of iffy, you don't get that much from a game if you don't know what and how to play it. Prizes are unfortunately "expensive", and you have to rack up a GOOD amount of tickets if you want something nice (I'm talking the higher end of 2000), which also means more money spent (usually) at the parent's expense- but hey, that's how they make money. Overall my trip was alright, the staff were kind and I especially appreciate them letting me take home a good chunk of their Airheads candies- I might just come back soon! read more
