Let's just say this, this might be some of the best curry I have had in a while since I got back from Japan. The curry's flavor is quite unique so I asked the store associate and was told they use onion to extract the flavor instead of soy sauce, the natural flavor of the curry does taste more flavorful and is seasoned just perfect. I can tell that the chicken and pork they used are obviously high grade meat, they are juicy and tender, not dry at all. The crispy shell with the sauce just made the combination much more flavorful. I also love how they combine the wagyu with different curry dishes and I was told that they have their own ranch and has multiple other restaurants in LA and Vegas that uses the same premium wagyu. That is just incredible, I mean I'm spending just 20 something dollars for wagyu? The service is amazing. All friendly and hustle free service style really gets me, water refills are pretty timely, they would also bus my table frequently just so I have more rooms. You don't get this a lot in other fast paced restaurants (yeah, they are packed during peak hours and the service is still spot on with only 2 servers, that's something worth mentioning). Last, I'm not a big fan of anime and I can only name a few of the characters they have on the shelf and wall, but I can tell that the store owner put the effort in to design the store, loved the personal touch. The restaurant is small but clean and neat, I think it's something worth mentioning, and I've been here a couple times, the hygiene and service standards have not gone down at all. Will be coming back regularly and would love to see they have more locations in the city so I faint have to drive 20+ minutes to be here (sometimes wait in line to just get a table). TRY THE WAGYU BURGER! AND ADD CHEESE! I have never been here after they reopened (previously string ramen), but I have been seeing some social media posts recently and seems like they are pretty popular in the area so I decided to drive down here from DTLA to give it a try. Tonight was not busy, must have something to do with the weather today and it might be after rush hours, but the server Wassol (forgive me if I got it wrong lol) did gave a pretty detailed intro to the menu, and I got the Wagyu burger with mozzarella cheese crisps, and made it a combo with some fries and miso soup. Gotta say the portions size is very decent and generous, the meat patty is made with Wagyu and cooked to medium rare (don't ask for well done ppls, that's Wagyu!) and it tastes just spot on, not chewy not too raw, and it's very flavorful, not sure if they pre marinated the meat or not. The dipping sauce for the fries is nothing out of the ordinary either, it's curry Aioli sauce. It's a lot of food and I could not finish them so asked for to go box for the rest do the food, Wassol was nice enough to get me some extra sauce. FYI, keep the bag, use it for your work lunch box or some, it's pretty nice looking and you can seal it. They also have the duck curry but it's a portion for two so I'll have to wait for the next time and come with my fam or friends I guess. After seeing their burger featured on Eater LA, I had to come try this place. Run by a Michelin star chef, this curry spot is definitely one of the most unique places that I've ever been. Walking in, you are able to see the unique interior that is filled with lots of anime figures and posters. It has an open kitchen concept, so you can see the chefs diligently working right in front of you. I tried a few of their items: Stone Pot Wagyu Hambagu - A Hamburg Steak with a sweeter curry with rice and veggies underneath. This one is quite delicious as the rice gets crunchy while the hot stone is actively cooking it. Wagyu Burger - A wagyu patty with a light curry sauce. I can see why this was featured, as all the ingredients put into this were just top quality. The curry was a very nice compliment to the fattiness of the wagyu patty. Roasted Duck Curry - IF THEY HAVE THIS AVAILABLE, GET IT. This is probably one of the best ducks that I've had in LA. I believe it is dry aged for 10 days, so it is only available on certain days. The curry used for this dish is slightly different than the other dishes, and I think it is absolutely perfect. Value wise, I think this place is probably one of the best especially located in a place like Beverly Hills. All the ingredient used are top notch, and the service and interaction with the chefs are great. However, when I inquired about it, the waiter dismissed it as outdated, claiming they just hadn't removed it and it was valid only for the "soft opening." This felt misleading and unprofessional. The staff overall lacked training and professionalism. The food quality was subpar, with dishes tasting reheated rather than freshly prepared. The service was slow and unresponsive, adding to the frustration. I ordered curry and pork cutlet from this place, and it was quite disappointing. The cutlet was cold at the core and only heated on the surface, like from uneven microwaving. The curry tasted sour, suggesting it wasn't fresh. The carrots and potatoes were overcooked and mushy, as if the dish had been reheated multiple times. Overall, the meal did not seem fresh at all. I won't be ordering from here again. To top it all off, a minimum of 18% tip for a party two was automatically added as default in credit card bill tablet, which seemed audacious given the poor service and food quality. Yet another restaurant lying about offering Japanese wagyu. I ordered the wagyu udon (Udon know me) and the wagyu curry (chubby curry). The udon meat is dry and tough which is very unlike wagyu even if it's overcooked. It is most likely just regular beef brisket. The wagyu curry is better in terms of tenderness but for the price you're better off going to a place that is not false advertising.
