Wow I really wanted to like this place because other Yelp Elite like it :( Oh well, I got a rosemary chicken Katsu and fried it was great besides the fried they gave me stale fries.. at 4pm sucks.
I ordered the chicken Katsu sandwich with waffle fries a mango margarita drink, and the strawberry katsu. My favorite was definitely the strawberry sandwich. The bread was soft and fluffy. The strawberries were fresh and the cream was rich and creamy without being too sweet. It was light and delicious . The chicken Katsu sandwich was just okay. It didn't taste like it was made fresh, and it wasn't served very hot, so it wasn't as impressive as I expected. I did enjoy the waffle fries. They were crispy and tasty the mango margarita drink was also very refreshing and paired well with the meal. The restaurant is located in a plaza with valet barking, but since I ordered takeout, I simply parked on the street for a few minutes to pick up my food. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. I called to place my order and everything was ready when I arrived making the pick up process quick and easy.
omg this place was pretty goodd! I got the black garlic udon with chicken katsu. the soup was very flavorful and the katsu was very tender and crispy! I devoured
I've had Katsu Bar a few times since it's been open now and enjoy it. it's close, quick, easy, cheap, and solidly. What more could a girl ask for?! Katsu Bar has a small parking lot which valet will let you park for a few minutes for carry out or you'll need to use the valet to park. xxxx My favorite items I've had from the restaurant: ~the katsu sandos ofc! I like the egg salad. ~along with that, the egg salad yubu is really great. I actually love all of their yubus and find them to be well packed with tasty flavors. Also love the spicy tuna, bulgogi, and cheese buldaks. ~i loveeeeeeee the cauliflower tempura! so lightly battered and they give it just enough air when not dining in to keep the crisp. Love the veggie dish with the accompanying garlic dipping sauce. i'm obsessed! ~still need to try some of their cool sauces like berry katsu~! Katsu Bar is a great option in KTown when I need something fast and reliable!
I like the katsu bowls here. I get my haircut down the street and the place i used to go to is closed. They do have curry but I'm not into spicy food so hesitant to try it. The katsu bowl is a little different in that the katsu is separate from the egg. One interesting thing is they put cabbage in the egg mixture. They have a large order your own touch screen. They DO NOT take cash so be aware. It is a pretty bright place and they valet park. I park in street for $2.
We stopped by Katsu Bar's Ktown location and tried a bunch of stuff: curry katsu plate with cheese, rosemary katsu sando, black garlic ramen with katsu, dill egg salad sando, strawberry sando, and the shrimp curry plate. The rosemary katsu sando and shrimp curry plate were definitely my favorites--both hit just right. The strawberry sando ended up being the surprise of the day, really good and a nice way to finish the meal. Everything else was solid too, especially if you're into katsu. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the staff is friendly. It's a reliable spot for Korean-Japanese comfort food, and I'll definitely be coming back.
My wife loved the fried mushrooms. I had a chicken Katsu Sandwich. I did not like the cheese. It was ok. We shared the fried squid. Too chewy.. decent flavor.
Katsu Bar Koreatown - Quick & Tasty Spot for Sando Lovers! I visited Katsu Bar in K-Town for a quick lunch and loved how convenient and delicious it was! Their Rosemary Katsu Sando was perfectly crispy and paired so well with the waffle fries and house sauce. The Shrimp Sando was also packed with fried shrimp and had a great texture. One thing to note--the Spicy Chicken Udon is mala-based, not the typical Korean gochujang flavor, so if you're not into mala spice, just keep that in mind! My personal favorite was the Strawberry Sando -- soft bread, fresh strawberries, and cream -- so light and satisfying! Plus sandos were a bit salty for me so also recommend trying their Strawberry Ade or Lemon Ginger Ade for a refreshing drink that pairs perfectly with the savory dishes. The space is clean, the service was friendly, and it's a great spot for a quick bite, especially during lunch. Plus, parking is relatively easy with valet, metered, and even some free street parking nearby.
Oishi? Was looking for a prescription to overcome FOMO from not going to Japan this year. Did this place do it right? Nearly but not quite! The curry pork cutlet and the chicken rose sando were about a 3.75 star meal. Service was good so its about a 4 star experience. Its fast casual so you won't wait long for your food, which is great. The meat was a bit overcooked and not as juicy as one would hope. The curry sauce was rich and creamy but the star of the show needed to be a well cooked and juicy meat entree which was almost there, but just not quite there with all the hopes and dreams of Toyko on the line.

Need to try the strawberry sando next time. Service was great and I love that it's causal and a different take to fast food. Everything felt quality and was delicious!

My oldest had an appointment in Southern CA and we were looking for a place to grab lunch afterwards. We both love Katsu and eggs so we decided this would be the spot. When we visited I noticed a good amount of tables, but there was only a couple dining in other than us. I know this is a popular spot because I kept hearing the DoorDash sound go off. The inside of the restaurant looked pretty clean, you're also able to see most of the kitchen so you know food is being prepped in a clean environment. There was a gentleman helping us with our order and he was very friendly. The katsu I ordered was delicious. My son opted for the vegetarian route and his protein was a mushroom. I actually liked everything we got, but the boy was disappointed with the mushroom. He was not a fan of the slightly sweet taste. My favorite item was definitely the strawberry creme sandwich. The sandwich was not overly sweet, but it was still memorable. I would love to come back to have it again. The egg sando was a little bit of a let down for me, my son thought the same. It's actually surprising that we were not fans because both of us LOVE eggs. Definitely think you need to check this place out because that strawberry sandwich is delicious. read more
Stopped by with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is pretty casual, medium-sized, and clean. It was empty when we got there. It was my first time here. I was still pretty full from breakfast, so I ordered an appetizer. I got the Korean Gang Jung (Tender bites) Honey Garlic flavor. The meat was extremely juicy and flavorful. It was pretty affordable as well. Overall, I would highly recommend. Not the BEST chicken I've ever had but still very delicious. It is my friend's favorite spot in K-Town. Good food, good service. Interior is small but clean and comfortable. You order at the kiosk and your food is brought out to you, and you leave your dishes at the table to be cleaned up. Quick and easy, fast casual food. We ordered the shrimp katsu sando and egg sando. Both were delicious and put together well, so nothing was falling apart after a bite. Shrimp was fresh and nicely fried. It came with waffle fries, and these didn't taste too fresh, like they had been fried before and then reheated in an oven or something--the crunch wasn't quite there. Not a big deal, but noteworthy in comparison to how good everything else was. Tempura cauliflower was the highlight! read more

What an awesome experience! Super cute clean restaurant with so many options. The servers were nice too. We got the pork katsu plate and the chicken katsu sandwich. So good. I was amazed at how crispy and flavorful the chicken and pork were. The plate came with a huge portion of rice too! The miso soup was better than I would have expected as well! Great valued Katsu Sando! Order up as you walk inside and find a seat to dine. They have amazing waffle fries that goes along with the burger meal. I ordered the Chicken and Pork Katsu, both were tender and juicy. I do recommend giving a try for their mayo sauce. Staff were quick and friendly. Great little option, new to the neighborhood... inexpensive lunch specials, which is appreciated (as someone whose office is three blocks away). There are lots of great expensive options in Koreatown, fewer great mid-range options, and very very few cheap eats type places, but their lunch specials qualify them. Spotlessly clean fast-food restaurant vibe, and efficient, if not overly doting, service (counter service not table service, only). Worth checking out! read more

New place in ktown that's inside the Serrano plaza. Parking spot is plenty you can valet or park on street which I suggest just find a parking on the street. Came during lunch time it's pretty empty here. The ordering system is pretty quick and easy. The menu is simple has variety of items with katsu sandwich to katsu plate. Had to try both to see how delicious it is. The portions are decent and the dill egg Sando is amazing!!! It smells buttery and it's so fluffy like clouds! Ha! If you haven't checked this place out I say run here and order the dill sando! So good words can't express how delicious it is!!!!!! I would eat it everyday! read more

Omg so terrible place i paid $62 : 2 katsu tekbokki and 2 strawberriy sandos and gave them $10 tip but i got this katsu tebokki - This black dots on the photo is not black pepper - it is nasty fried pan residue so i throw away $16tebbokki also I don't know what big nasty gelatin stuff ?? Nobody put gelatin on tebbokki & strawberry sando 's cream almost started fermenting ( taste sour) ?? Horrible place - i used to lived Torrance so katsu bar is originally fr Lomita/ Torrance but both branch are not good - i am half Japanese & half Korean but this is disgraced!! I was craving katsu curry while i was back in LA and Katsu Bar kept popping up. I'm so glad it did because it hit the mark perfectly. Everything was great from the curry to the strawberry sando to the yubu pocket and the strawberry sparkling drink. The curry had a nice kick to it (I went with spicy one day and extra spicy another day -- extra spicy was definitely hot but good). The yubu pocket was something I had never had, but it was great especially dipped in the curry. Delivery was very fast, food was good, and I can't wait to dine in next time I'm back. read more

I'm a big fan of their portobello mushroom sandwich--fresh, huge, incredibly juicy and flavorful. The best veggie sandwich I've ever had! The Katsu Ramen soup is rich, flavorful, with perfect noodles and spot-on katsu chicken. The curry is creamy and rich, bursting with flavor. The strawberry Sando, has a lot of cream! Super creamy, just the right sweetness for fellow cream lovers and it tastes incredibly fresh. Katsubar mixes Japanese and Korean flavors with a modern twist. They use fancy breadcrumbs with rosemary salt to make tastier, healthier katsu. Hand-breaded and cooked perfectly, crispy outside and juicy inside. I was super satisfied with my meal. Can't believe how good they are still. Service is super sweet, friendly and fast. The decor is very modern, large glass window brought a lot of sunlight in, feels super relaxing dining in. Solid 5 stars, can't wait to come back for their amazing sando again! read more

Amazing katsu items! Almost everything we got was super tasty. The katsu was really crispy and nicely cooked. They have a great range of items on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. The portion sizes are also appropriate for the price we paid. They have additional side items that are available that I'd highly recommend! The workers there were also very friendly and nice. * Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich: 9/10 - so delicious and comes with waffle fries * Korean Gang Jung (Tender Bites): 10/10 - super crunchy and well-cooked * Dill Egg Salad Sando: 2/10 - needs more mayo and egg salad * Black Garlic Ramen with Katsu: 7/10 - pretty good, but nothing special * Crisscut Rosé Tteokbokki: 10/10 - really good and flavorful * Mushroom Tempura: 7/10 - tempura breading was good and item itself is unique * Sausage Rice Cake: 8/10 - really tasty rice cakes The shop was quite small, but actually has a decent amount of tables and seats. They have mobile kiosks to order from and the wait isn't too long. However, the parking might get annoying if it gets busy and they charge for valet on the weekdays. i looove katsus and so i was very excited to come try katsu bar! to give you the laydown, there is a parking lot although I believe they do have valet at times. there is some metered street parking as well. the restaurant is fast casual with plenty of seating inside. place an order at the counter or kiosk and they bring the food to you. they also have a daily $10 special (dine-in only) i got the yubu pockets (spicy cali roll and buldak spicy chicken) and my friend ordered the caprese katsu sandwich. the portions were decent and fair for the price. the sandwich also came with a side of fries. i really want to try the dill egg and strawberry sandos as well as their katsu curry! we'll just have to be back read more
A great quick lunch destination in K-town with a nice variety of noodles, small bites, katsu and fries at an a reasonable price. I went with my friends on a weekday during lunch so there were a few tables full, but there was no wait. It's casual enough inside to have conversations and catch-up with friends. We all really enjoyed the Yubu pockets and nice that they let you choose different toppings. Definitely enjoyed those over the katsu sando. There's a valet service in the parking lot, but on a weekday during lunch time you might be lucky to find street parking! You can order on the computer screens, so it's super easy. read more

Went on a Thursday night and no wait. Most of the menu items are based on Katsu (obviously), but they do have other options such as ttokpokki, yubu pockets, and udon. I tried their signature sandwich, curry katsu plate, and rose spicy chicken udon. You have the option to choose the protein for your katsu in the sandwich and plate, I went with pork on the sandwich and chicken for the plate, and the type of sauce in the sandwich. I would recommend going for the pork, the chicken was a bit dry. Wasn't too impressed by any of these unfortunately. I liked the bread on the sandwich and the udon noodles. My favorite item was actually their dessert, their strawberry sando. The bread, again, was great, and the cream delicious! Parking: valet $5. Street parking is tough, it's Ktown. They didn't accept cash when I went.. apparently they got robbed recently, so they're only accepting card payments. read more
TL;DR impressive katsu sando that wasn't too soft/hard to bite into while their yubu pockets were probably more impressive I would recommend this place and come back in a heartbeat. It hits all the right spots, not too oily, and heavy while also having very few people so a great place to enjoy a meal. Came here on a weekend morning and was surprised there was nobody at noon Ktown usually is a little sleepy in the mornings but this allowed a more enjoyable sit-down experience You order through a "kiosk" at the counter and all the items are clearly defined. My friend and I got a set of yubu pockets and the katsu sando combo which turned out to be around $32 post-tax. It was more than enough for two people and what impressed me the most was the yubu pockets which are basically a bean curd skin (think tofu) stuffed with various fillings (spicy tuna, spicy chicken, etc) If the yubu pockets were cheaper, around $10 for a set of 4 I would come back but for around $14 I would probably come a little less regularly given the ease of making it. That isn't to detract from the deliciousness of it just a general opinion on the cost. That said, their katsu sando has to be one of the best outside of Japan I've tried. It's not particularly interesting but the main point was the chicken katsu was crispy enough to have a crunch sound while also being soft and juicy enough to not require more force to bite into compared to the very pillowy milk bread. Additionally, the slaw was not heavy like other places or even Western-style cole slaw which can be overly heavy and weigh down the porous milk bread This place is great, just beware that their service model is more tailored towards takeout since they didn't have staff to bus any of the leftovers from previous customers, and the utensils are all takeout plastics read more
