New all you can eat restaurant that opened in chicago's chinatown square. There are two options a gold tier and a silver tier. My party opted for the gold tier that upgrades the menu. We ordered a variety of meats and ended up not knowing what we ordered. Everything that we ordered kinda blended together. some highlights were beef tartar, the hand rolls, and the iberico pork belly. For the premium cuts, the ootoro was def the best piece. The food came quickly and the service was good. There is additional seating in the upstairs area. There are self serve drinks including milk tea and assorted sodas. There's also ice cream machine located on the main floor. This place is a bit pricey, but it's worth it for the quality of food that you can get. I enjoyed my experience, and I will be back again. read more

Another yummy meal at Chubby Cattle! Our server Whitney was the best!!! She also helped us grill some of our meat since it wasn't too busy in our section. I've noticed that the last time and this time, the ipads were glitching so that wasn't too fun. Last time our first order that we sent and got confirmation that it sent didn't actually go through so we sat for 10 min with nothing. This time, it seemed to take 2-3 minutes after sending for it to confirm that the kitchen accepted the order so not sure if that's new. I would double check your order submissions to make sure its working correctly! If you come here often like me, sign up for the membership. I was told it's $28 for $10 off silver and $20 off gold and a free birthday meal! read more

Wide selection and good cuts of meat. Amy was super awesome and attentive. She even coordinated a nice cake cutting surprise for a birthday we were celebrating. Really nice AYCE option in Chinatown area. While the price may appear steep at first it really is worth it (gold). read more

We got recommended this spot for a birthday dinner. The Wagyu variety and food was incredible. The self serve ice cream machine was a nice added touch too! The only downside is that while service was great, we often had to wait a while to get service (ie: ask for a grill change, general Q's, ask for the check). There's a call button on the iPad you can use to call the server but they were too busy to check! Not their fault at all though :) Also want to note this restaurant doesn't have a bar or alcohol available! After we ate, we went to a bar in little Italy. read more

Wow, what an experience. I was on instagram scrolling and was lucky enough to have found a Chubby Cattle video, after that - it was game on. Went to Chinatown around 4pm and was lucky to be seated quickly, introduced to our waitress Ashley. She was very quick to get us situated, was extremely patient with explaining the menu and all of its offering, and was also great with assisting us with cooking a couple different things. Her staff was also great with giving us food quick and taking away our empty plates. We decided to do the Gold Tier and that did not disappoint/was well worth the 75$ price. The meat here is outstanding, extremely flavorful, and overall the best quality of meat I had at a KBBQ restaurant like this. The Australian wagyu was absolutely incredible, must try. The presentation for the scallops was also beautiful too! Not only is the meat here great, aesthically it's on par too! The sides were great too, highly suggest trying a little bit of everything. The main takeaway is the service, Ashley was so kind/helpful and she truly gave us an above and beyond experience. I'm looking forward to coming back just to be served her again, when you have not only great food/but good people, you have a customer for life in myself. read more

Ryan served us today. He is very responsive and offers lots of help with cooking the meat on the table. We have been this bbq restaurant several times and really enjoyed the food and VIBE here. We are meat lovers and silver plan is the most favored one for us, because in silver plan we already enjoyed lots of good dishes with wagyu. Definitely will try higher level plans next time with memberships options. read more

We love XPot and since this is a sister restaurant, we had to check it out! Went to Japan recently and was missing Yakiniku. Went on a Friday evening and thankfully we didn't have to wait! We were seated on the second floor which was a con since drinks were on the 1st floor. However, server offered to help me bring drinks upstairs. Ambiance: Space felt rather small and I felt crowded sitting so close to a table next to us. It felt like they tried to pack as many tables as they can between the 2 floors. 1st floor had some tables along with drink station: milk tea, pop, and soft service. I asked ice from a server. I didn't like that drinks were available in disposable plastic cups but I suppose it's easier for the restaurant to deal with people falling on the stairs and spilling/breaking. Food: Food was very similar to Xpot. I was familiar with the menu. We had different cuts of wagyu, soup, scallop sashimi, bibimbap, hand rolls. We were disappointed to find out we cannot grill scallops as they were taken out of the menu. Service: Samuel was super friendly and helpful. He also helped cooked some wagyu and showed us how long we should cook the meat, depending on the cuts. He made the experience much more fun. Between XPot and Chubby Cattle, Xpot wins. read more

Staff are so helpful ( sometimes helping with the grilling if there a lot of fire) and sooo yummy. Definitely came here a few times for special occasions, since it is on the pricier side. read more

First time here today. Been to their other restaurant The X Pot few times. I wanted to see if there's any difference. Here, the drinks are self service. They have Pepsis, milk teas which is delicious, lemonade and orange juice and hot water. The X pot, you do have to order with waiter. Here, you order on the iPad. Which is much easier. But I do feel like The X pot is more delicious and cleaner. It's more cramp here too. Meat wise? Not totally the same. For ex. They have Iberico pork here that I've never seen at The X Pot. Xiao long bao are fried and I did enjoy but hubby didn't like it. The X Pot have a self service veggy well though with rice and Wagyu curry, brown eggs, kimchi, salad are all there AYCE. At chubby cattle, no well just the drink bar. I think it's $10 cheaper here vs The X Pot. I would never come back here honestly. I do love their iPad ordering because you get to see what you're ordering but they do not look exactly the same when you get it. Different drinks is a plus but they're good refilling at The X pot no problem. :) read more

Zaid is the greatest server. Thank you so much for a great experience. So helpful and great recommendations

Everyone has been talking about Chubby Cattle, so I finally tried it with some friends for a birthday celebration. We waited an hour in line because it was so popular, but the food didn't disappoint! The meat was fatty and delicious, with a wide variety of options. They served more than just Wagyu, including fried foods, sushi, soup, vegetables, and many side dishes. We tried the gold tier, which had some limited quantity special items. Our server, Jason, was attentive and friendly despite the busyness. All the staff were personable, and I would definitely go back. read more

We came in to dine under the silver tier and it was amazing. We were offered more than enough steak dishes along with sushi and appetizers. Everything was amazing and I would definitely come back. this is my third time coming to chubby cattle and i always have a good experience!! today we were served by isabelle and she was so sweet and knowledgeable about the entire menu! she explained everything really well to my friend, who was a first timer here. of course the price is high, but i do appreciate the quality of meat. just kind of wish that for around ~$80 for gold tier you had access to a bit more of the wagyu! but i'll probably be back anyway haha read more

Food was great. Excellent service from Justin. Highly recommended. Make sure to make a reservation.

Second time here and just as amazing as the first. Service is quick, food is delicious, and our server Jay was so accommodating. We came with a 2 year old and the Pokémon cards he gave us were just she needed to stay entertained. Leaving here with full bellies and happy hearts! read more

My friend and I have heard nothing but great things about Chubby Cattle so we were excited to try. We were seated upstairs so we had to go back down to get any drinks we wanted which we found a little weird. We got the $55 package and that was plenty of options. We really enjoyed most of the food we got but our table flame continued to go out. We asked for help multiple times and a manager just happened to walk by. The manager was extremely nice, he took the entire grill out at our table with food on it and "cleaned" where the gas came out of. This helped for about a minute. By the 3rd time asked our waitress for help she then told us we can just fix the flame ourself. The flame went out about 30 times while seated. They did add time to our table. Later offered for us to move but we were basically done with our meal. They did give us 10% off our meal but we felt it wasnt enough for how annoying and expensive our meal was. read more

We wanted to try Chicago's Chubby Cattle after hearing about it on the west coast. The wait was pretty long, but the food and service were definitely worth it. The inside wasn't too big but decorated pretty nice. We got the gold tier and the a5 brisket and australian wagyu chuck eye with egg stood out. I had a fantastic time here. Danny was super nice and everyone was willing to help or explain to me how it worked. We really liked the Australian strips the most. Sushi takes a little longer to arrive so I recommend placing more orders as you're eating. They changed the grill pretty frequently and they have milk tea and soft serve on tap although they only had chocolate. The milk teas have a sort of gummy flavor. It gets loud and smoky here but I found 90 minutes to be enough time for 2 people. read more

We came as a group of 7, running just 10 minutes late, and right away we were warned about the strict time limit on our table. I get that rules are rules, but the way it was presented set a negative tone right from the start. Then we found out you can only order 10 items at a time, and you have to wait 7 minutes for the system to "reset" before ordering again. For 7 people, this made it painfully slow to get enough food, especially since the kitchen was clearly backed up. The server kept reminding us about the time limit, but how is that fair when the food is delayed? By the time some of our dishes arrived, we were already past our limit. The front desk lady even came over with an attitude to tell us we had "10 minutes left to order" and "10 minutes to cook and eat" -- while we were still waiting for food that hadn't even come out yet. When the time was up, suddenly all the backed-up food arrived at once. We cooked what we could, but the grill is so tiny it was impossible to get through it all. Then the check came with a $37 "wasted food" fee -- for food we literally didn't have time to cook because of their own delays and restrictions. The manager eventually removed the fee after we explained, but by then the whole experience was already ruined. Between the slow ordering system, backed-up kitchen, strict time policing, and small cooking space, this was easily one of the most overpriced and frustrating meals I've had. I won't be returning, and I'll be telling friends, family, and honestly anyone reading this to just avoid this place altogether. There are far better restaurants in the area that actually make you feel welcome and serve you in a way that respects your time and money. read more

I have been so excited to experience Chubby Cattle since before it opened. I held off going because the lines around the time it opened were ridiculous. Waitlist is available on yelp if you time your commute to the time your table is ready. As I finally got to try the food and see the variety of options on the menu, man... Am I amazed!! The beef slices melts in your mouth like they should. Unlimited milk tea if you are a milk tea fan, so many appetizers to choose from, and so much more. This brings such a fun experience with high quality meat especially if you are someone who enjoys kbbq, jbbq, or any type of grilled meats. The wagyu nigiri is also mouth watering! If this is your first time, I'd suggest to get the premium so you can get the full experience of the A5, but if you are someone like me who don't want to break the bank during each visit, the regular course will do just fine. You won't miss out much. Definitely will keep coming back for more! read more

Sooo disappointing. I have been to several Kbbq places around the country and this one was the least memorable. Wait staff rushed us from the beginning ... giving us a timetable for ordering and eating and then kept trying to clear food we were still eating. The iPad for ordering kept freezing up. Plastic cups, canned drinks and paper napkins!? Basically cafeteria style. Only one sauce (teriyaki) and no marinades. We've been to other places that cost less and provided more. Chili powder is left uncovered, for who knows how long. Orders came slower and slower as our meal went on, and by the end of the night we were waiting on several items from our final order for over 15 minutes. Grill was not changed once during our dining experience, which ultimately made the later meats taste charred and made our entire table smell burnt for the last 40 minutes of our meal. Waitstaff also did not respond to requests for service via the iPad. Would not recommend read more

This place was okay, the meat was really good and if you're coming here just for that I mean it's a great price. There's only 2 options for sauce: yuzu and a Japanese bbq kind of sauce which was so good and then there's chili powder. The meat would've been sooo much better with a sauce bar but there's none of that here. The thicker cuts of meat and the brisket were our favorite. The sushi was not very good, it was straight out of the freezer and the rice was cold. It wasn't a melt in your mouth kind of salmon which was disappointing. The dumplings, shrimp, corn cheese, garlic enoki mushrooms were so good!! Tip: dip the meat in the garlic sauce from the enoki mushrooms when you're done so you can get some flavor on it. I wouldn't come here again but it was a fun experience! Candy the hostess was awesome read more

Whitney was the best and she recommended a lot of great cuts of meet for our first visit

The opening of Chubby Cattle is definitely a win for Chicago since we only have CC and Wagyu House. I've dined at the Rowland Heights location once before and it is pretty much the same. We opted for the gold tier because we wanted to try the special dishes. The Wagyu ootoro and short ribs were so tender and delicious! I wish we could get it unlimited! The other two special dishes we tried were the Wagyu with foie gras and scallop with Uni. Both were very mid and not sure why they are considered special. Besides the special Wagyu meat, we only enjoyed the australian wagyu chuck eye with egg. It was very thin and has a light marinade on it. The egg made it more creamy. It reminded me of a dish at Yazawa in Beverly Hills. We ended up getting 3 plates of this. We also tried the wagyu brisket which was a thicker cut than the australian wagyu but marinated similarly. Because we were content with the australian wagyu, we didn't try any other meat. Other dishes we tried were the cheese corn (nothing great), creamy Tom yum soup (way too creamy literally just jar or powder soup with heavy whipping cream), zucchini (great to cut through the wagyu fat), and salmon nigiri (not bad but nothing ordinary as expected). There is also a drink bar downstairs which included two types of milk tea (powder milk tea), orange juice + lemonade, and cans of soda. We passed up on the dessert whatever it was.. maybe it was soft serve. Have a strong feeling it woild have tasted icy. Service though is top tier. Whitney was very attentive and helpful in explaining the tiers/menu and helping to cook the special wagyu meats. It was nice to get to experience CC in Chicago, but I think we have concluded we are not AYCE people. Besides the two special meats and the australian wagyu, we were quite bored and didn't know what else to order. I swear I looked at the tablet 10 times trying to force myself to order something. I wish there were more tasty and interesting options so the experience could be better and complement the meats more. It is a great place to dine with a group though so you can try more.. just not for me! I think I prefer a non AYCE bbq but always happy to try. read more
