Bottom line: Service and ordering are great. On future visits, I'll stick to the silver tier unless I have money to burn. Different experience from other KBBQ spots, but adjust your expectations and you'll be fine. Context: Lunch on Christmas Eve with large party of six. My wife and I are no strangers to KBBQ, but this was our first time at Chubby Cattle which has a reputation in my friend group for being overpriced. We wanted to take our parents/in-laws somewhere new and perhaps a little nicer than your Iron Age, Thrill, 9292, Em Bop, etc. Service: Our server Trang was awesome. She was friendly, accommodating, and a grilling expert. Service here certainly felt nicer than our usual haunts, which I believe was helped by two things: The self-serve area (fountain drinks, sides, a smaller selection of meats), and the table iPad for ordering. We didn't have to wait for Trang to come around to refill our drinks or to order more meats. Ordering: Famously (or notoriously), Chubby Cattle has a 90 minute table limit that is actually enforced. Meat-to-table flow at other KBBQ restaurants is controlled by how often the server comes around and the portion sizes, e.g. if it's the end of dinner and one person wants brisket for dessert while everyone is in a food coma, the server brings a smaller amount. Chubby Cattle's approach is two-fold: Fixed portion sizes and time-gated orders. Our table could order up to 10 items every 7 minutes, and the orders arrive exactly as shown on the menu. Ex. The menu showed one wagyu meat as 2 slices, and so it came as 2 slices, and honestly, it felt kind of awkward in a party of six who are used to servers bringing a mountain of brisket for the your first order. But there's an easy solution: Order more portions. Next go-arounds, we would order 5-6 portions of the same meat. Our table had taken a communal approach to ordering from the menu (that is, "you pick, I'm fine with whatever"), but I could see this working well if everyone has different preferences. Food: As a baseline, the snacks and regular meats (silver tier) are good. (And although I've been comparing this place to KBBQ, don't expect bulgogi marinated meats or similar.) We went with the gold tier due to the special occasion, and ultimately, I can't say the price jump was worth it. The order limit on the special meats/dishes is nuts, and they're too small to share. We did order plenty of wagyu steak and short rib because they're unlimited. But with so much already included in the silver tier, I would rather pocket the $20+ for dessert. This took my rating from 5 stars to 4. read more

I wanted to take a moment to commend Kris, the general manager, for their outstanding leadership and dedication to customer satisfaction. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and valued. Chubby Cattle Dunwoody definitely exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food was excellent, especially for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. The Wagyu was easily the highlight. It was tender, flavorful, and tasted like a much more expensive meal. Every cut of meat we tried was fresh and well-seasoned. There was also a great variety of meats, sides, and desserts, so everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. Overall, it's a great value for the quality you get. The biggest reason I'm writing this review, though, is because of our server, Trang. We had a party of 12, and although we were told the restaurant is mostly self-serve, Trang went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. She helped cook our meat and always made sure it came off the grill at the right temperature instead of letting us overcook it. Somehow she always seemed to notice when we needed something before we even had to ask, whether it was clearing plates, bringing us more utensils, or checking if we needed anything else. We were celebrating a birthday, and she also helped bring out our cake, cut and serve it for us, and even went out of her way to find a knife when we couldn't locate one. None of those things were expected, but she was happy to help with all of it. What stood out the most was how patient, attentive, and genuinely kind she was throughout the entire meal. Even with a group as large as ours, she never seemed rushed and was always one step ahead. I've been to a lot of restaurants, and her service honestly ranks among the best I've experienced. Great food, amazing Wagyu, excellent value, and service that made an already great meal even better. read more

Chubby Cattle Dunwoody absolutely knocked it out of the park for Japanese BBQ AYCE! The food was outstanding--high-quality meats, incredible flavor, and everything came out fresh and perfectly prepared. You can really tell they care about quality, not just quantity. The ambience is awesome: modern, vibrant, and perfect whether you're out with friends or on a date. It adds to the whole experience and makes you want to take your time and enjoy the meal. The service was truly top-notch, and a special shoutout to our server, Tang. Tang was attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was running smoothly from start to finish. Easily one of the best service experiences I've had at a BBQ spot. If you're looking for AYCE Japanese BBQ in the Atlanta area, Chubby Cattle Dunwoody is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back! read more

We went here for the first time for Valentine's Day, and it was amazing! Ricky was our server and he did a great job explaining how everything worked, helping us cook the meal, and consistently checked on us to make sure we were okay. The food was delicious and there was plenty to choose from, the restaurant itself felt fancy without being too fancy- a place that's great for a date night without feeling like you need to dress up. The only (somewhat negative) thing I would say is that the self serve/buffet area is a little tight, our reservation was at 4:45 so there weren't many people, but as it got closer to 6 it became hard to move around with all the people. Still giving 5/5 stars because it was still a great experience and we ended up signing up for a membership! read more

He took the time to explain the different options, made great recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments without ever feeling intrusive. His energy was welcoming and professional, and he genuinely made us feel taken care of throughout the entire meal. Service like this elevates the whole dining experience, especially at a place like Chubby Cattle where pacing and attention to detail really matter. Ricky absolutely nailed it and turned a great meal into a memorable one. If you're dining here, ask for Ricky--you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be back! read more

We had an incredible first-time experience at Chubby Cattle, and I highly recommend asking for Angel if you visit. He went above and beyond the entire night -- not only answering all our first-timer questions, but also staying on top of all the cooking at the table, which we genuinely appreciated. His timing, attention, and guidance made everything effortless. The food was amazing, but the service made it unforgettable. Angel kept our table perfectly maintained, and the whole team worked together so smoothly -- cleaning, dropping items, assisting, and making sure we never had to lift a finger. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday, and Angel played a huge part in making it special. If you're dining at Chubby Cattle, ask for Angel -- he's incredible! read more

We had an amazing experience at K-BBQ tonight, and a huge part of that was thanks to Kailani. She was genuinely one of the best servers we've ever had -- warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She anticipated everything we needed before we even had to ask, checked in at the perfect moments, and made the whole meal feel relaxed and fun. Kailani explained the cuts of meat, gave great recommendations, and even helped us get the perfect grill on everything. Her energy was so positive that it felt like we were being hosted by a friend rather than a server. You can tell she takes real pride in delivering a great experience. If you come here, ask for Kailani -- she's a star and turned a good dinner into an unforgettable one. We'll definitely be back! read more

I had an incredible dining experience at Chubby Cattle, and a big part of that was thanks to my server, Andrew. From start to finish, he was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. He took the time to explain how everything worked and made great recommendations that turned out to be spot on! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented -- especially the meats and broths, which were top-quality. The atmosphere was lively but comfortable, and everything came out quickly and perfectly prepared. Andrew really went above and beyond to make sure my table was well taken care of. It's rare to find service this genuine and professional at the same time. I'll definitely be coming back soon and will be asking for Andrew again! read more

This was our first time having lunch at this Chubby Cattle location and it was beyond anything I could have imagined! We had the perfect portions, timely and prompt service and top tier quality meats! We can not thank John enough for his patience and accommodating our table - he has the best personality for this. He walked us through all the types of meats , special recommendations and a thorough breakdown of the menu, tier offerings and the map around the back of the restaurant! We also inquired on the membership details, to which he was super knowledgeable and helpful! We also downloaded the app and look forward to earning our points. Thanks, John! You really made our lunch visit special! We can not wait for our next visit! read more

We had a great dinner! Ricky was a great server and was very helpful with the menu. We've been to other locations in the restaurant group and Ricky asked so he gave us space when he saw we were doing fine cooking our own meats. The wagyu was good and the ribeye was our favorite. The toro qas good as well but very fatty, which wagyu is so its expected. Overall up to par with the other locations. I will say the layout of the self service section was a bit better than other locations we've been to. One tip - The membership is a good if you get it it at a discounted price and come at least 2x. You have to come on your bday to make it worth it but you can go to any restaurant thats part of the group. read more

The best Chubby Cattle (Wagyu House included) by far!!! Ambience, value for money, cleanliness, most especially the staff!!! Our server was Tran and she's adorable! Constantly checking in on us, very attentive and friendly. We also saw a familiar face, Fara! The food selection I feel like is more Comprehensive than other branches. They don't have the tier system here and you need not to wait for the lock out period in the ipad so it's more self paced. The selection of seafood and the tomyum Soup are my favorites too! The place is very clean. Floor is not stick, and the ventilation of the grill is also better. You wouldn't smell too smokey when you leave. I hope they get more customers! read more

Great food, great experience, and an amazing server! I had a really great time at Chubby Cattle! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was fun, and the whole experience was made even better by our server, Jenny. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. One of the little things that made me smile was the cute rabbit toy clipped next to her name tag. It was such a fun little personal touch and definitely made her stand out! Jenny provided excellent service and really helped make our visit memorable. I'd definitely come back to Chubby Cattle again--and hopefully get Jenny as our server read more

Chubby Cattle in Sandy Springs is an absolute must-try! The Wagyu BBQ is the star of the show incredibly well-marbled, fresh, and cooked right at your table exactly how you like it. The self-serve buffet and dessert station are a great bonus, with plenty of variety to keep everyone happy between rounds of grilling. The atmosphere is modern, lively, and just plain fun -- the kind of place that makes for a memorable night out. On top of all that, our server John was fantastic. I had a wonderful experience at this Japanese BBQ restaurant. The grilled dishes were incredibly delicious, fresh, and full of authentic flavor.
