Thanks for not properly straining and serving me soup.

Just ordered a bowl there. I watched the worker scoop out spoonfuls of black bean juice and drown the rice in it all because she didn't want to open another container. She proceeded to do the exact same thing with the pico de gallo after I asked her for a fresh batch because she was literally only able to scoop two tomatoes in her spoon. Thanks for the soup. Don't be lazy.

Cold hard dry rice no flavor beans, small pieces of fish Over priced. Won't eat here again, save your money!!

Don't spend your hard earned money. Cold, hard dry rice, no flavor beans, small portion for the money. Will never eat here again. Save your money!!

I always enjoy getting their bowls for lunch. My favorite is the chicken bowl with Spanish rice and to top it off, I get all the side dishes. It's definitely one of my favorite places to go to whenever I'm craving Mexican food, but the lines are always long! There are only two workers, or if you're lucky enough, 3. Not fast enough, doesn't have any urgency, and it takes at least half an hour to get my bowl. Compared to other restaurants, they are the slowest ones. Not only that but sometimes they don't give out a lot of toppings either, it's only a tiny portion. It's disappointing to me knowing that the work efficiency hasn't changed and continues to be as slow. Honestly, disappointing.

Wanna-be Chipotle with bad customer service. My first time here & will be my last. I asked for light red sauce& they put WAY too much! I tried eating it anyways, but my mouth was on fire! I asked them to remake it & everyone, including the manger, gave me so much attitude. It was not my fault that they messed up my order. The food was nowhere near my expectations, aka disgusting. I've never seen Fajita veggies so horribly cut. Do you even use a knife? They should replace this place with something better.

The rice was extremely uncooked and was uneasy on my stomach. The rice needs to be cooked as it is the biggest portion in a burrito/bowl.

The meat choices have so much salt and the rice is undercooked. Habanero was better (bigger portions, cheaper, good seasoning).

The meal was very tasty/savory. We skipped dessert this time. Atmosphere and service were great. The prices reasonable as it is a fairly complete dining experience. Lovely place to meet friends, family or date. It is first come first served so I'd recommend getting there early as it is relatively small yet worth the wait. Once you're seated, you really don't want to leave. Beautifully decorated! Provecho!!

We were accommodated readily and had no wait time as a phone call a few days ahead had been made and remembered. Even though reservations are not taken, they were set up for us and ready to get the dinner party started. This is wonderfully thoughtful service. Once in, our waitress explained that she could do partial group checks for four. That was also a thoughtful way to handle a larger group. It would have been awkward for us to split all of the variety of items on the receipt amongst us, being that we ordered so many different dishes. And wow! Did we order a lot of dishes! That's part of the fun of coming to Viva Madrid: there's such a wide variety of tapas and/or entrees to share. The more we tried, the more we wanted to continue to try! From the pitchers of both red and white sangrias, tapas, entrées, and desserts, we really made our way around the menu. Our delectable dishes came out little by little. And that's rather important here, as those small plates have a sneaky way of filling you up, with a little bit of this and a little bit of that. The pacing gave us an opportunity to enjoy each dish at a leisurely pace, while we chatted, laughed, and in general, got to enjoy the night in an unhurried and relaxed environment. Our plates were delicious! Such a variety of unique flavors that you wouldn't find in another kind of dining experience. Creamy, salty, aged, rich, spiced but not spicy, meaty, veggie, sautéed, simmered, roasted..... there's something here for every palate. Be open to the adventure! Our waitress and other staff that checked in on us were fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable - incredibly talented at keeping all the numbers and dishes straight - and attentive to each guest. Which again, is appreciated when part of a larger group. When you come here, be prepared to spend some time. Bring someone whose company you enjoy, then sit back, relax in the ambience of Spain, and be taken care of as if you'd been invited to dine in someone's home.

The whole experience is what makes it special--the ambiance, the Latin flavors, the service, everything is on point. But what really sets it apart is the folklórico dance performance. You don't just eat here, you get a full experience. It feels like a beautiful little piece of Spain brought to Costa Mesa. The dinner is like a full three-course experience while you watch the dancers, and it's just so memorable and unique. If you're in Orange County, this is a must-visit spot--you really should treat yourself at least once. Also, if you stay after dinner, it opens up into a club and you don't have to pay entrance into the club. They have a nice bar outside, so the ambience is flowing Ali he with drinks. The evenings that I've stayed after they have two rooms OK they have a DJ room and then they have the band room, I don't know if they have a band every single night but the times I've been there they do and I like that you one room is very club vibe and then you can go into the band room and it's more like salsa lit up vibing. I myself still have a gift card for their café side that I'm excited to use soon and check out. Can't wait to go back this week.

People are actively moving therefore they breathe that disgusting stuff twice as much. And don't let me start on breathing that while eating! For me personally...I already ended up in the hospital, because of second hand smoking, once. And I really don't want to do it again. Also what would be handy...is another LIVE bartender. Whoever is there so far looks like he's there as a punishment. Wanted to order a drink at the bar and the guy totally overlooked me. and that's not the first time. So yes...if the place can fix these two things, it would be a way more pleasant experience for, as I believe, many. Thank you.

I was disappointed in the patatas bravas, however, which I felt lacked much flavor. The cocktails were exceptional. I enjoyed a classic dirty martini, their specialty vaca tonic (A+ cocktail), and had their non-alcoholic drink called Starry Night (very delicious, but not worth $16). The setting is quite breath-taking, with the restaurant decorated with elaborate cuts of meat and wine bottles. The lighting is very warm-toned and elegant. Overall, we had a delicious meal and cocktails before heading to the Segerstrom (just a quick walk away). The service was excellent and the meal great, but I think the whole experience was heavily overpriced for what you get.

First off, my friends had sat at the bar for a good 20 min before the bartender finally acknowledged them and took our drink order. Even then she was not very nice and totally made other patrons orders who had sat down after us before even trying to deliver our drinks to us. Once the drinks were delivered, they were pretty much slammed onto the bar counter rather than being delivered with care. Yikes. I had asked for a bar napkin because the rim was sticky and she completely ignored me. So rude. Our reservation on a Friday night with a show happening at Segerstrom was at 7:45pm which means the show crowd should have already left by this point. We easily didn't get seated until 8:15-8:20pm for a 7:45pm reservation because our table was lingering. Seems like poor table management on the restaurant's part to be that far behind schedule. Once we sat down, we did our best to order right away as we were starving and was pretty sure it would take awhile for the food to come out. Our server greeted us within a few min of sitting down and since we were ready to order by the time she showed up, we ordered everything from appetizers to full meal. Started with the croquetas and gambas. Both were good but honestly I've had better. The sauce for the gambas felt like the ratio of the sherry was a bit much and not enough spice. Ended up with the Paella Valenciana which was okay, but the flavors felt kind of bland and the scallops and shrimp inside seemed like they could have been cooked more thoroughly. I believe we got the 12oz New York Steak to share, and it felt the meat itself was super tender but lacked a bit of flavor for my liking. We wanted the broccolini but they ran out so ended up with the Brussel sprouts instead which were very good. Overall the ambiance inside the restaurant is a bit tight and chaotic for my liking. I definitely like the bar area better than the tables which were very close together, so may have to try dining at the bar next time.
