yesterday, I tried Chronic Tacos for the very first time. There was an adult woman working there, and the food was so great that I decided to come back again today. Well, the difference between the 2 visits is night and day. Today, there was a guy with a beard hanging down, working over the food. There was no hair nets or anything like that. I feel this is very bad hygiene, and when working with food, beards and facial hair should be kept away from food preparation. Then, I had ordered a shrimp taco today and could not eat it because the shrimp wasn't cooked thoroughly. Thought I had found a great taco spot, but today I was extremely disappointed to see what I saw. It just was not appetizing. What a shame. I'd like to post the following information for the owner, so they can take appropriate steps to protect food: "Beards must be covered during food preparation to prevent physical, biological, and chemical contamination. As a critical hygienic measure, covering facial hair with a net keeps hair out of food, lowers the risk of spreading foodborne pathogens, complies with health regulations, and enhances customer trust." read more

After picking up my daughters from school, we decided to go check out Chronic Tacos. It's located inside Extramiles at Ranchero Chevron station near the 15 Fwy. We've actually been here twice now. First time, we got the Taco Plate. It comes with two tacos, rice, and beans. I went with chicken tacos, spanish rice, and refried beans. Everything was delicious except the beans... I mean it was okay, but I would get another type of beans next time. Second time, we got the Taco Plate again, but this time we went with pulled pork tacos, spanish rice, and black beans. Fantastic! No complaints here. Also got 2 small burritos... BOGO deal... one chicken and one shrimp with all the toppings (you get to choose your toppings). With so many toppings, the person making them couldn't roll them into a burrito. They ended up in a bowl. They became a bowl-rito LOL. I liked the spice in the chicken, but there was lack of chicken in the burrito IMHO. The shrimp burrito was very good... it came with 7 shrimps... wished there were 10 shrimps... I love my shrimps! Btw, they'll let you taste test the meats if you would like... just ask them. Glad we did because we were going to go with carne asada and unfortunately, it was a little tough or chewy per my daughter, hence, we went with pulled pork that was a lot more moist. Staff was friendly and provided excellent service. Thank you for making us feel welcomed! Prices are reasonable. There are some tables and chairs for dining inside. I used to like to come here every now and then. The food can be pretty good at times. But I'm definitely not coming back. It's like flipping a coin. You might get a good order or a messed up order. So I came in the other day and it's the second time they didn't put meat in my burrito. Like how do you forget the main ingredient? I wasn't even mad but rather disappointed. I paid like $11 for a breakfast burrito and it wasn't even good. And it's happened before where I order the baja shrimp tacos and it's undercooked. I tried giving them multiple chances but they can't even get anything right. I blame the management. There's constantly new people so how do you expect the food to be good when people are literally being trained every time. Plus it's hot inside the "dining area" which is tiny. I love Chronic Tacos! Simple food, made right, and hits the spot every time. I usually stop here between LV and LA. *I would change two things. I would run it like Chipotle (how all the other Chronic Tacos locations run it: base, rice, beans, meat, etc.) It's annoying how I order, and say what I want, and the cashier always circles back to what meat, what toppings, etc, like they aren't listening (especially the new cashiers) Happens every time. It slows everyone down. *Also, the "pick a style" is annoying, and they always try to force me to pick a style. Came here kinda late at night after a very long day with a very whiney toddler and I was surprised at how nice the staff was!! The woman who started our order chatted with my son and kept his attention so that my husband and I could actually read the menu and decide what to order. We were a little confused about the menu at first and how it works but I love how they're willing to give you samples of the meat if you're unsure. Sadly the Carnitas were really dry so I chose something else but better that way than to get home and be disappointed! If you're comparing them, the set-up is similar to Chipotle... You choose your item, then rice, beans, meat and toppings. But the best part.... They don't charge $1 for guacamole!!!!! In fact... If you want a little bit more cheese.... You get exactly that and you don't have to argue about being charged more for a pinch of cheese!! Don't knock the place just because they're inside of a gas station.. try it. We will definitely be coming back! Hopefully next time I can catch the Carnitas at their peak of flavor.. read more

I love chronic taco's but the 2 big employees need a personality check, when you get someone's order wrong, you don't give attitude for being corrected. And the big young man doesn't like fix proper portions for the customers, I watched you hardly put any meat on others taco's, glad you didn't make mine. Long line at times , but because of the name that it has made for itself, it keeps people coming back . The food is really good here , the portions " Pre-Covid " use to be a little bit more than what they are today . I ordered the Chronic Fries with Asada , cheese, cilantro and onions added a side of beans that I poured over everything and it was good . The Asada was a little dry, and tough , but overall the flavors are good. Don't forget some hot sauce or hot salsa . read more

In 2020, I placed an online order to minimize contact with other patrons inside. (Not because I was scared of people; they were scared of me because I refused to wear a mask.) I showed up 30 mins after I placed the order and it was not ready. Their excuse was that they had not received my order and were actually not equipped to handle online orders. It was a newer location, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I walked back in 20 mins later to pick up my order and they refused to give it to me because I still would not wear a mask. The order was ready and waiting behind the counter and they still refused to give it to me. I said okay, I'll take a refund then, and walked out. Months later, after writing their main social media pages, calling a corporate number that only led me to a voicemail, and calling the store manager, I received an email that they were "aware of the situation" and would handle the refund. I never received it. For some reason I decided to give them another shot in 2023 since Covid was a thing of the past and the food has been good at every other location I've visited. The employees looked bored, acted rude, and handled the food roughly. Lesson learned. read more

Ordered three tacos. 1-Carne Asada, 1-Mahi Mahi, and 1-Al Pastor at a cost of $12.50. Steak was dry and hade very little flavor. Al Pastor smelled old and tasted spoiled, inedible. Mahi Mahi was way too salty and absolutely swimming in some kind of seasoning. Definitely not worth coming back at any price, and especially not at $12.50. read more

I was skeptical of freshness being that it is in a gas station but once I saw the homemade beans I knew it was going to be delicious...and it was!
