I came in here today with my STARVING, indecisive ass & wow they are SO GOOD! The man at the register was so patient and understanding with me & I appreciate him and his customer service so much. I would have been annoyed to help someone like me today but he treated me nicely. First time trying this place and I ordered 2 fish tacos (not a normal order for myself) but they were the best fish tacos I've ever had. We went into Monica's tacos and stood at the counter for 4-5 minutes. We were the only customers waiting to order. A woman working in the kitchen looked out at us after about two minutes but didn't give us any acknowledgment. No nod or I'll be with you in a moment. Nothing. Blank stare and then she went on with what she was doing. We are reasonable people. All she would have to of said was I'll be with you asap. We would have waited longer. We left about 3 minutes after she ignored us. We have gone to Monica's many many times over the years and the service has just gone downhill. The attitude of the workers just isn't like it used to be. Unfortunately this was the last straw for us. There are plenty of good little Mexican joints in the HD. so Monica's is crossed off our list. Really torn between 3 and 4 stars but giving room for improvement. The crunchy taco was delicious and filled with meat. I also took home Taquitos which were but not the best taquitos I've had. Al pastor is usually my favorite and was good! The shredded beef in the Taquitos was good as well but the asada was fatty and chewy. Rice and beans was perfect. read more

So I decided to give this place a chance I've been hearing some okay things about it. I probably driven by it maybe 1 million times but I should've went with my gut instinct when I first walked up there was a Hiring sign stating they needed a cook and a prep cook that should've been my indication to leave But I didn't. I tried to give it a chance. So This is what happened The service from the server was the only thing I can honestly say was great other than that everything else was well to be nice, horrible I Ordered three what they call soft tacos(a.k.a street tacos) one asada, carnitas and al pastor. I can say enough of anything good came out of trying all three types of meat. Well will start with the Asada typical lower cut of meat seem like it was on the steam table maybe all day. I went there. It's probably about 2:30pm in the afternoon so they probably cooked it early in the morning. Just had it sitting in the steam table. It's been sitting there for a long time. No flavor, overcooked and dry Carnitas, you can't mess up Carnitas it looked like they scraped from the bottom of the pan they've been sitting there for like three days has a little raunchy, that old meat taste. Last but not least Al Pastor, nothing to talk about, expected chunks literally chunks of low lacking favor, of course I had a guess with me they tried the Carne Asada fries, or should I say nacho cheese, Carne Asada fries, The fries were swimming and cheese sauce. The same dry old sitting on the Steam Line Carne Asada meat trying to revive it with nacho cheese sauce The presentation didn't even look good overall don't waste your time or your money. So as I'm trying to finish up this review up, just FYI I got food borne illness, so yeah a BIG NO THANK YOU!!! Good luck keep driving. read more

It's absolutely absurd that you pay 20 bucks for 2 burritos and they can't give out more than 2 salsas per burrito when the salsas are TINY. But you can buy the salsa for 2 bucks for the smallest container. I will not be returning or recommending. The food also sucks, especially for the price. read more

This place is basically like any other Mediocre taco place. It is a hole in the wall spot, so I had higher expectations. I had their Tacos ($1.99ea). My husband ordered 2 of their queso barbacoa Tacos ($4.30 ea), which are fried. They were pretty good. Out of the Carne asada Tacos and carnitas, the carnitas were the best; they had really good flavor, and the asada was eh. Honestly, the food is overpriced for quality of food, in my opinion.i don't mind paying for good food, but this was not it. I've really had to consider this review before posting as this was for my daughter's Sweet 16 Birthday and really dislike that we were treated the way we were, time wise for her special event. We went into the restaurant and had lunch. We decided to schedule for her event. Left a couple messages for the owner to return my call as he is the one who makes catering reservations. Upon hearing from him, I confirmed with him date and time, 6 to 730-8:00pm. We went to the restaurant to make the 3 meat choices etc. The minimum is for for 50 people, we knew we had 40-42 people, so I had no problem paying for the 50 people as we could do breakfast burritos for morning. Owner arrived with 2 workers asked where they would set up, asked me for plates and payment. I gave him plates and the money as he was promptly gone as workers setup, ready to serve at 6. They were prompt and ready to go. Our Birthday girls started the dinner line around 6:10 and I sat down to eat at 6:40, along with her father. At 6:45, final call was shouted out to us and our guest. I promptly said I believe Eddie said you all would be here at least til 7:30. The worker called Eddie in front of everyone and then politely told me across the room, yeah Eddie said 7:30 is fine. I told both workers they were welcome to step inside and warm up as it was the coldest night we had seen this season, they said no, they were over the grill and steamer and warm enough. I then had family come out and say they were wrapping everything up and grill was off. I walked out at 6:53, mind you that was directly after worker just said he confirmed 7:30. I told the worker, all our guest haven't eaten yet, I have people who have not arrived and are about 15 minutes out. My food is now cold as I have been dealing with this and not sitting down eating. He said grill was already off, so I asked for the left overs to be put in buffet containers so I could feed my guest. He tells me he can't, that's a Eddie thing. Eddie comes walking up clapping hands saying let's go let's go, it's cold out here and we gotta go. That was at 6:58. Workers tells him, I was asking for leftovers as they only served 35. Eddie says give her the 15 dishes, as worker counts out 15 scoops of beans, 15 scoops of rice etc. They were GONE!!! Our final guest arrive and guest are wanting 2nd, go in and we were left no taco shells. So now I'm left breaking out breakfast burrito shells that I had for the next day and trying to heat them up for new arrivals. All 3 meats were great, beans and rice were bland. Customer service was completely unfair. It's been 9 days and I'm still fretting as it simply was not right. What a damper for such a beautiful evening, for such a beautiful girl and all the hard work we all put into her night. Fretting is a kind word here as I'm really angry. A phone call would be more then appreciated as we are a hard working family with honesty and integrity, and this really bothers me that a local hometown establishment would act in such a manner. read more

I live in Victorville and was craving lengua tacos. Not everyone does them good, so I'm picky about them.(usually get them down the hill) I just googled and picked a place up here. So I ended up here. It's a small place but it was packed. The food they were bringing out looked so good. So I ordered my tacos to go. It took a while cause I think there's only 1 cook. the tacos were small...I'm used to the bigger tortilla lol but overall, they were so good. I love this place....to start I love how clean it is....the decor....is not the typical " julio-" look..it feels cozy. Every single meal I've had was excellent. Prize is right. The location is strange on I Ave, but the truck with Monicas cartoon was what lurred us in. The kids working are really nice, the place is spotless as well. It actually smelled clean and we saw them cleaning tables as soon as others left, bathrooms were clean, also a nice change for the area. No salsa bar, minus one star for that. In fact when I asked for salsa I got two squirtbottles, one with green, one with hot sauce. Yuck! The guac, also not special. Pico and salsa on the food nonexistant. The prices are low, so low that we got alot. Burritos under $4 but therefor small. Carne Asada fries also just under $4 tiny and plain. Tacos salad at $6 double what I pay elsewhere here and not bigger, but tasted fine. The rice and beans are good as is the fish. Fajitas for $6 we thought also a steal but it was a few strips of meat, enough for two small tacos. In all, the food was fine and the place nice but not worth going back to. read more

GREAT food, really weird atmosphere. It's a tiny little place tucked off of I Avenue in Hesperia, and it can be kind of hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for. They usually have the van with Monica's face on the side of it parked in the parking lot, so look for that. Inside is.. well.. weird. It's a very small place, and seating is limited. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. I usually get the Carne Asada Tacos, and they are definitely good. The food is consistently good, and fairly priced. We used to drop by regularly, as my band practiced right up the street. Worth the visit if you're in the area! read more

I Love Monica's tacos. They also do catering. It was a huge hit at our reception. The food was cooked to order as the guests went buffet style. It was priced right and they service was fast and friendly. They cleaned up and left as timely as they set up and arrived. We got to keep the left overs. Everyone loved it. read more
