Red Pozole. Delicious. Hot, lots of meat, and hominy, and lots of great flavor.
    Maya C.

I was craving pozole so checked out yelp for a good place on a weekday. It was a Wednesday - and once again- yelp came thru for the win. Delicious pozole! I was NOT disappointed. Generous portions of pork and hominy. Wife had the carne asada plate, also delicious. Cozy and warm atmosphere. Service was fast and efficient. We will be back!

We found this place through Yelp. It didn't matter if we had to drive off the beaten path in our way home on the 15 freeway. We wanted good Mexican food. This place did not disappoint. It seems it is runner by family. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. When we got there, many people were already leaving. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great people.

I would give this place a 5 star but man you wait about 1hr for the food to be ready be prepared to wait for 1hr for you food

    Al pastor grande taco.

One of the best tasting chile rellenos in town! I particularly enjoyed it as a burrito with rice and beans. The chile was flavorful, stuffed with melted cheese and had a tender fried batter coating. The al pastor grande taco was also tasty with a large meat portion size. The beef tacos dorados were very crispy with a plentiful filling and topping of lettuce, crema, and shredded cheese. One of the few places here serving chocoflan. This dessert is a mysterious thing which goes into an oven to bake all mixed together. The flan and chocolate then separates into each individual layer to make a delicious creamy cake dessert. I had ordered the food through DoorDash. Now I will need to return in person to dine in someday.

    Tacos de birria

We were driving down the 91 and I looked up some Mexican food nearby and ended up finding this place. I said let's give it a shot and I'm very glad we did. We ordered the Menudo, birria tacos and the chicken flautas. We also got the Horchata and a Michelada. Hands down some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time I come from a family that only eats home cooked meals, and their food at this restaurant reminded me of home. The menudo was actually one of the best menudos I've had, I ordered it without the hominy and it was 10/10 I'd really like to come back soon and try the gorditas I've heard they are bomb. The service was also 10/10 everyone in there is super friendly and helpful when it comes to getting things you need. I hope you give this spot a try as I will also being going again ! Gracias Juan todo estaba al 100% Keep up the good work!

On our way back from Death Valley National Park, searching for most popular Mexican eatery in Victorville..... Bingo! Great tasting, grandma's kitchen made items, homey deco and clean, warm & friendly service staffs; the champion stop for hungry travelers. Love to come back for another visit soooon.

Quesabirria tacos con consomé, arroz y frijoles.

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. We loved how the owner, Juan, took the time to greet everyone and came personally to our table to ask how everything was and even proceeded to get to know us a bit. It definitely gives a homely feeling. We were only in town for a wedding and found the restaurant on Yelp, but we'll definitely stop by every time we're in town. Their food menu is unbelievable. You don't know what to get because of the variety but the place gets pretty packed so you have to make sure you look at the menu before you get there. We ordered the quesabirria tacos that come with consomé, rice and beans and also the carne asada with huevos rancheros. Finger licking good!! We totally recommend it!!

The atmosphere is cozy it has that warm, comfort-food vibe that just makes you relax and enjoy your time. The food definitely delivers on that "home-style" promise. We ordered a variety of dishes: the country fried steak skillet, the hobo skillet, and the chicken fried steak--all hearty, flavorful, and satisfying. I went with the cinnamon French toast, and for just $4.49 extra, it came with eggs and a choice of sausage or bacon (I picked sausage). Everything was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes are generous--we couldn't finish everything and ended up taking boxes home, which honestly just means we get to enjoy it again later for brunch! When people talk about great restaurants, they often mention fancy places with tiny portions,…read moreexpensive prices, and menus written in words no one can pronounce. But sometimes, the best food in the world doesn't come from a celebrity chef or a five-star building. Sometimes, it comes from a place that feels warm, familiar, and welcoming the moment you step inside. Down Home Grill is one of those places. It may not look like a luxury restaurant from the outside, but everything about it--its atmosphere, its food, its people, and the experience it gives customers--makes it stand out above anywhere else. For many people, including me, Down Home Grill isn't just a restaurant; it's a place that feels like home. That's why it deserves the title of the best restaurant in the world. One of the biggest reasons Down Home Grill is unmatched is the atmosphere it creates. From the second you walk in, you feel like you're entering a place where you belong. Unlike restaurants that try to impress you with overly fancy decorations, Down Home Grill uses simple familiarity to make you feel comfortable. The lighting is warm rather than harsh, the booths and tables feel sturdy and lived-in, and the walls might be decorated with local photos or old signs that bring a sense of history. There's always a low, friendly buzz of conversation, the clinking of silverware, and maybe a radio playing songs that everyone somehow knows. It feels like you've stepped into a living room for the whole community. Whether you're coming in with family, visiting with friends, or even going in alone, it always feels like there's a place for you. Not every restaurant is able to create that sense of belonging, but Down Home Grill does it effortlessly, and that's the first thing that sets it apart from the rest. Of course, atmosphere alone isn't enough to make a restaurant the best in the world. The food has to deliver--and at Down Home Grill, the food doesn't just deliver, it exceeds expectations every time. The dishes are built on recipes that taste like they've been perfected over decades. You don't get frozen, reheated meals or plates that look good but lack flavor. Everything tastes real and comforting. The pancakes are fluffy, the burgers are juicy, the sides are seasoned perfectly, and even simple items like toast or hash browns come out tasting like someone took actual care in making them. Down Home Grill specializes in the kind of food people don't just eat--they remember. It's the kind of cooking where every bite feels like a reminder of something familiar, even if you're trying it for the first time. And unlike many restaurants where quality changes depending on who's in the kitchen, Down Home Grill is consistent. Whether it's your first visit or your hundredth, the food always has the same homemade, comforting taste. Another thing that makes Down Home Grill exceptional is the variety it offers. It's not a restaurant that tries to overextend itself with a giant menu full of dishes no one orders, but it absolutely knows how to offer something for everyone. Whether you want a classic breakfast, a hearty lunch, or a satisfying dinner, there's always a dependable option waiting. Kids, adults, picky eaters, and adventurous eaters can all find something they'll enjoy. And everything feels balanced--nothing is too greasy, too bland, or too over-the-top. It's the kind of food that leaves you full in the best way, not uncomfortably stuffed or disappointed. Many restaurants struggle to get this balance right, but Down Home Grill handles it perfectly. But even great food and great atmosphere aren't enough to make a restaurant truly legendary. What makes Down Home Grill stand out even more is the people who work there. The service isn't just fast or efficient; it's genuinely kind. The staff treat customers like actual human beings instead of table numbers. They ask how your day is going, they remember regulars' usual orders, and they treat everyone with respect, no matter how busy the restaurant gets. Good service is something many restaurants claim to have, but at Down Home Grill, you don't just receive service--you experience hospitality. There's a difference between someone doing their job and someone making you feel cared for, and the employees at Down Home Grill understand that difference. They play a huge role in making every visit memorable. Another important reason Down Home Grill deserves the title of best restaurant in the world is its affordability. Great food doesn't have to empty your wallet, and this place proves that. While many restaurants charge extremely high prices for food that doesn't necessarily taste better, Down Home Grill keeps its prices fair. Families can go out to eat without stressing over the bill, and people who might not be able to afford expensive restaurants can still enjoy an incredible meal. Being affordable doesn't mean the restaurant lowers its quality; instead, it shows that they care.

We could not finish the cinnamon roll because the omelette was so good and hot. The cinnamon roll was not my style, a little on the dry side, and I prefer it without the whole pecans (or walnuts)? Good, I just would rather have more gooey, buttery cinnamon weaving throughout. I would definitely come back here and recommend it for easy parking, quick service and good ole diner food.
