Super hidden seafood spot in the back of car stereo place and tire place. Walked in and was seated right away, the place looks like a typical mariscos spot with the booths and spot for live music. Ordered the fish taco, shrimp taco, tostada Kaliman, kids quesadilla and fries, Jamaica. Starting off with the eh the Jamaica did not taste homemade not a biggie, the fish and shrimp taco were okayyy nothing crazy. Surprisingly the quesadilla was really good full of cheese, the fries were nice and crisp and fresh and the tostada kaliman was the best in the high desert. It was full of raw shrimp, cooked shrimp and octopus, it was enough for two people. Definitely recommend you try the tostadas! read more

The food I tried, the aguachiles 1/5 they were very spicy and the flavor of the shrimp taste a bit like dirt, Camarones a la diabla 3/5, michelada 4/5 , the tacos meat was hard 1/5, the cóctel 3/5 well portioned. The camarón empanizado 4/5 they were crispy. The rice was a bit undercooked. The service, the cleaning table lady was nice, the waiter had no customer service, looked mad. The music is so loud you can't even order or hear the waitress. It's not party loud where you're having a great time it's so LOUD that you can't think. The place is too small to be that loud. The food was not great. We ordered the mocajete and it was for two people but they give you one single scoop of rice and a singular scoop of beans in a little cup. That is not for two. That is two bites. But if you want a drink. That bartender was amazing. His drinks were delicious ! It's defiantly worth going if you just want to load up on greatly made drinks and escape your thoughts cause you won't be able to hear them with how loud it is. I guess people come here for the live music and the big portions but absolutely not for the flavor. The aguas frescas are not even authentic either. Flavorless. The service is not all that great. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Hands down one of the worst experiences I've ever had at any restaurant. I placed a simple order for ceviche -- and they completely messed it up. No big deal, mistakes happen, right? But what followed was an absolute circus of unprofessionalism, rudeness, and outright disrespect. When I called to let them know the order was wrong, a staff member named Daisy told me over the phone not to worry -- we could KEEP the incorrect ceviche since it had already been touched, and they had our correct order waiting. Seems reasonable. But when we arrived, the story flipped faster than a tortilla on a hot comal. Suddenly, we were being told by a rude woman at the counter that we had to return the ceviche we were previously told to keep -- the same one we had already sampled. Excuse me, what? You want us to bring back food that's already been eaten? Gross and unsanitary! Then came the gaslighting. They flat-out refused to give us our correct order. No refund. No solution. Just attitude. As if we were the problem. To make things worse, I'm Hispanic -- but I initially spoke to them in English out of habit. They must've assumed I didn't speak Spanish, because the manager, Yennica, turned to another staff member and said -- clear as day -- "Déjalo en paz, a lo mejor se aburre y se va." ("Leave him alone, maybe he'll get bored and leave.") Are you kidding me?! I was stunned. This wasn't just bad service -- it was deceptive, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. You don't treat customers this way -- especially when YOU made the mistake. If you care about good food, respectful service, and basic human decency, stay far away from this place. I would like to preface this by saying this has been a favorite for my family, most food served here is great however, when it comes to staff and management they need to work on their hospitality and integrity. We placed a to go order and upon arriving home and eating we notice two errors. 1. there was a bitter and sour taste coming from one of the shrimp cocktails like an old lime that has developed a bitter taste from going bad! Completely inedible! 2. There was no octopus in the shrimp cocktails. We specifically order them this way with shrimp and octopus and there was no octopus in either one. So we did what any customer would do and called the restaurant. We spoke to a lady who didn't state her name, and we proceeded to tell her about the dilemma with our order. She states that there is no way it could've trastes bitter or sour since people have been eating the cocktails without complaints, she was not apologetic and was rather rude and worse, she didn't believe us! She said to come back another day to get the cocktails remade. Which we did the next day and once there (a 30min drive) the staff said they were unable to fulfill what THEY had told us they would do and there was nothing they could do. So now we drove there for nothing! These cocktails are not cheap either $26 so as a restaurant you would think it would be to their best interested to keep their integrity and their customers satisfied. Instead we were made out to be liars, and that is never ok! Mariscos El Kaliman, do better! Been coming to Mariscos El Kaliman ever since quarantine ended and wow they never disappoint. Definitely the best mariscos in the High Desert. They just get better by the minute!!! Recently renovated and now serving Mexican Sushi. The Guamuchilito roll is my favorite Extremely flavorful/fresh food like always and attentive staff. On the other hand, the restaurant itself is very clean. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a night out with friends or family, this is the place to be. Great food and music. Decided on some seafood and chose this restaurant to have our regular Sunday dinner. Horrible mistake!!!! I thought it was a restaurant but turns out it's a bar/restaurant!!!! Do not take your kids ! Unless you want them to witness a guy throw up! A guy fall over drunk!! Extremely loud music that you can't have a conversation! Service is non existent! Our waitress was too busy listening to the live band I had to get the guy cleaning tables to go let her know we were ready to order after sitting there for an hour. No water service. She brought the wrong order then called us liars until she checked her order slip then she said ok I will change it. The food is ok at best. Be prepared to spend $50-75 just on food. For ok? Fantastic food. We tried the mariscos tostadas and the hot molcajete. The meat in the molcajete was generous, the salsa was spicy but not too spicy and it was all high quality. The mariscos was fresh and delicious, we got oysters on a half shell and shrimp tostadas.The service was great on a Saturday but when we returned on a slower evening our drinks went empty and some items were forgotten. I think the staff was short that day so it's possible she was the only waitress that evening. We will definitely be returning. read more
