Expensive and very small portions for price, but they are striving for that upscale feel. Quality over quantity which is fine, just don't expect huge portions. I was fine with my portion, others in my party were not. The reason my family will probably never return is as follows and I ate their last Monday and I'm still very upset about it and feel cheated. Waiter asked me several times about trying a new drink on menue. I declined twice as my husband and son each ordered a flight. The third time he brought it up my husband said bring her one, she likes mimosas. . Yes, I should of asked a price right then. It was a champagne drink with strawberry puree. I'm thinking $15 bucks max. It was ok. Nothing special honestly. My son ordered himself and my husband two house shots at end of meal. Waiter tried twice to get an upgrade. They declined. Long story short $40 for my 1 drink and almost $35 for 2 cheap jimador shots. Our bill for 4 was $320 before gratuity. I've never spent that on lunch, even in SD where I live. I feel they push the expensive alcohol on you and purposely do not give prices, so BEWARE! Ask prices! Last, it was a Monday and we were given a brunch menue and then also given a regular dinner menue. Thought that was odd for a non weekend and way too many selections. Overwhelming. I hope it does well, but I don't think it's the right demographic honestly and doubt it will last a year. Old and cold fries, none of the garnishes (onions, tomatoes, sour cream, or avocado was included) The salad description was Fresh greens, with variety of vegetables, fresh dressing. NONE OF THE ABOVE. The "salad" was old and smelly cut up pieces of watermelon with blue berries, and red onions. This is a FRUIT SALAD. Being new to the area and missing LA's dining scene, I was excited to try this restaurant because the decor and ambiance were beautiful. We visited during brunch, and the live music created a pleasant atmosphere. What surprised me, however, was that the restaurant was almost empty at noon on a weekend. Nevertheless, I thought this would be a nice spot to take my team for our Christmas lunch. Unfortunately, the dining experience did not live up to our expectations. My Mexican mother-in-law was not impressed with her chilaquiles that she refused to take left-overs home. We specifically requested that our dishes be prepared without onions, yet our queso fundido was topped with green onions, and my Carne en su Jugo had fresh white onions at the bottom of the bowl. My husband also asked if he could have cilantro with his quesabirria, but we were told the restaurant didn't have just cilantro available, which was surprising for a Mexican restaurant, especially at this restaurants price point. Another thing that stood out was that I overheard the table next to us being offered the dinner menu, while our table was never given that option. I don't know why the experience was different, but it left us feeling overlooked. Service also fell short. Our used plates remained on the table throughout the meal, even though the waitstaff came by multiple times to refill my son's horchata. The table became crowded with dirty dishes, yet no one made an effort to clear them. Overall, it felt like there was a lack of attention to detail and genuine hospitality. It's unfortunate because the restaurant has a lot of potential with its attractive setting and live music. The food was, as my son would describe, "mid" but it was the service or lack thereof that really made a lasting impression to me and my family. My partner and I stopped by as we stumbled to this place on Yelp . The decor is trendy and the ambiance is great , perfect for happy hour or a celebration. We came for dinner, and the lighting was very dim, making it hard to read the menu (they also use QR codes, but I prefer a physical menu). We started with the ceviche verde limon, which had very little shrimp, lots of onion, and it needed more lemon. Our bartender, Carlos, was friendly and made excellent cantaritos (10/10). Unfortunately, the entrées didn't impress. The Camarones de Don Lupe were chewy and tasted previously frozen, however the salsa they came with was very tasty and the carne en su jugo was just okay. Overall, great vibe but overpriced for the food quality. I might return for brunch since I've heard they have live mariachi. read more

We called a day ahead for a party of 25 and made it clear that we were gathering during a very difficult time of mourning. Unfortunately, we were seated directly in front of a live karaoke performer, which was not appropriate for the type of gathering we had explained to them. The food was good, but the service was very slow. While waiting, we received very small portions of salsa and stale chips for such a large group. We were even offered pan dulce for purchase, but it would have meant much more to see some thought put into accommodating our group with fresh chips and plenty of salsa while we waited. For large parties, please be more mindful of the circumstances, have enough staff available, and make sure fresh chips and salsa are provided. We've had much better experiences with large groups at Pancho Villas, where they are more attentive to these details. The food has potential, but the service and consideration for our group could have been much better. read more

Chips were tasteless and were likely from a bag, not fresh. Drinks are small as well. The Blue Moon tasted old, trust me, I know. I'm just overall very unimpressed. Absolutely no way to justify $250 for 6 people. It is likely the reason the place was empty at dinner time. There are many very good Mexican restaurants at about half the price. What an absolutely gorgeous, upscale place! It truly feels like a restaurant you'd find at a high-end Mexican resort. The tables were stunning & the décor was incredible, and the overall vibe was awesome. Service was excellent, and the music was the perfect touch! I hadn't heard Mexican pop hits from the '80s and '90s in such a long time!! The ambiance here is great. We had breakfast here during the week and we enjoyed it. It wasn't very busy which was a good thing because I'm certain this place gets busy in the evening and weekends. We purposely stoped in at the day and time to avoid busy service. I loved the decor. I loved the quality and portion of food served. Prices are a bit high but that's the state we live in at the moment. Service was excellent. One thing I would recommend is a check presenter with a receipt of what is due when checking out after our meal. Decor is always the first thing you see, and this place is beautiful! Very inviting and open. Their menu was this cute wooden heart - I'm old school and love paper menus but I loved this concept and was offered paper if I wanted/needed so that was nice but the QR worked perfectly and was organized very well to find what you were looking for. The food was so delicious, I felt like we had a feast, but I wanted to try everything I could. We had the queso fundido (soooo delicious & with fresh tortillas), the aquachili verde Limon (spicy but delicious) Enmoladas (were good but felt like it needed something, just couldn't put my finger on it) & the Mar y tierra (can never go wrong with steak and lobster - the presentation was awesome with this dish, I love that the plater it comes on says Pinche Caliente that made me laugh & it had a drawer to pull out more fresh tortillas) The service is very friendly and attentive, always making sure drinks are never empty, like not even close to empty they will have a fresh drink before you even finished. Wow! What a great experience. We found this place on accident, and we are so glad that we did. We have had a lot of Mexican food from various places. But this was unique and worth the stop. First off- We had wonderful service. Marisela and Diego were our servers and they were so accommodating. They made sure every detail was covered. Second- The food was outstanding. It was unlike anything we have had. I didn't get a photo of the carnitas, but it was on the bone, and it was perfectly crispy and wonderful. The shrimp were some of the best I've ever had. The sauce was incredible. It's worth noting, the shells were still on. I am not sure if I was supposed to eat them, I know some people do. I chose to remove them. We also got the sopes con pollo. They were very good. We got the margarita flight. That was a great choice. It gave us the chance to see what we loved. The margaritas have a great presentation- they come with dry ice bubbling up. It was a very cool touch. I would say that this place is authentic, unique, and they have thought of every detail. The decor is modern and beautiful. The lighting was perfect. It took 25 minutes to get a glass of water and 45 for them to take our orders. The attitude from our waiter, Danny was very rude. She would not have eye contact and 3 times, "Telling" us we were not ready to order when we were ready. We just stared at each other in disbelief of her attitude. Then, I order a Margarita, and right away I changed my mind and told her never mind I'll take a coffee, I mean I changed my mind right away and her reply was, I already ordered it and if I cancel it my boss will yell at me. Really? If her boss was really going to yell at her, then I do not wan to go there any more. If she was making it up then I don't wan to go there again either. The table was also loose and we had to hold our drinks so they would not spill. After several attempts they came and fixed it. Conclusion, the service doesn't match the fancy looks of the place. Very nice Mexican restaurant that offers live mariachis throughout the weekend and brunch is available everyday. We had a birthday celebration for a dear friend and coworker here for the first time, recommended by another friend/coworker. Everything was wonderful! Felipe was out waiter and he was very professional and accommodating. The other waitresses or hostesses, not sure but they were all so nice, friendly, and sweet! They really made everything extra special and I can't say how hard it is to get that other places.
