The lady behind the counter was very kind. The restaurant was clean. I wish I could say more, but there was nothing extraordinary that stood out.

Ok so we didn't like it. Described as "if you like Cane's you will love this." We like Cane's and…read moredid not like this. Here's why: Two combos, some individual items, $48. Mild sliders: large size, generous portion, tenders are wet with an oil and arguably not done-wasn't to me, they said it was. I did not like the consistency of the exterior or thick wet breading or the slimy wet gristle down the center in the one bite I took. Was replaced with a plain one I took to go. Have not tried that one. Kale salad: on the side, and stayed there, didn't like it. Mac and cheese: wish we never ordered it, bland and does not appear homemade or even high quality pre-made. Think Kraft with a paprika color. And Kraft being better. No crispy cheese topping just creamy skillet mac. Oreo shake: priced gimmicky in a tricky way and says $3.99/4.99 and we didn't get it with our order. Went back for it and got vanilla. Went back again for chocolate that we ordered. It's not exactly chocolate. It's vanilla with chocolate syrup not evenly mixed with Oreos on top for a $2 upcharge. Making it $6.99. We were allowed to keep both. Fries: good but lukewarm Verdict: we tried it, was not for us. Staff was nice, place was clean and sadly next to options I wished we'd tried instead because I'm still hungry. Service: cool front office staff for a first time visit. They actually navigate things for you as a first timer. That's so cool. Generous with sauce but should not be compared to canes or anyone's. We tried it, we don't and won't crave it. Mother son Valentine's Day in the area running errands. I think the kid was disappointed. We brought most of it home and nobody wants it for leftovers. Disclaimer: we understand successful cult followings--it's not for us and that's ok. It certainly was a must try. Perhaps we tried the wrong things. Dave's Hot was not hot in flavor or temperature on our visit at least.

As far as fast food chicken goes, I thought Bojangles on Bay Area Blvd was a great experience! I…read moretried Bojangles for the first time just recently because of all the hype I had heard about it from East Coast people. What used to be the old Genghis Grill location, this Bojangles definitely gives Raising Canes and Layne's a run for their chicken tender money. This location is pretty spacious, clean interior, fast drive thru, and had plenty of parking too. I missed the name of the guy I talked to at the cash register, but his service was great and you could tell how hard of a worker he is. I tried their 4 piece tenders, chicken sandwich, biscuit, dirty rice, bo sauce, house made ranch, and their new blackberry cobbler. The chicken is crispy, well seasoned, and larger than the other fast food chicken tender competitors. But the main thing I'm coming back for are those BISCUITS! By far the best fast food biscuits at any fast food restaurant, it honestly beats some actual restaurants too. The only small critique was that I didn't care for the dirty rice too much, it was just a little bland, and the blackberry cobbler was way too sweet. Otherwise, I'll definitely be back again! I want to try their mac n cheese and peach honey pepper sauce. Enjoy!
