So sad that another one of my favorite stores is closing for good. According to one of the cashiers, this location will permanently close by the end of August. As of today everything in the store is 10-50% off. All greeting cards are 50% off. Be prepared to wait on very long, but fast moving lines. They had plenty of cashiers to keep things moving quickly. Don't let the name throw you, this is not just a Christmas "tree" shop. This is a shop that has everything you need for the holidays. And the holidays doesn't have to be just Christmas. Your 8 crazy night needs are met with the coffee being sold here. My wife tells me she has a coupon for this place and needs to buy a few stocking stuffers. Walking in, we're faced with the items for Christmas trees, I said to myself how the heck does this large store operate 12 months out of the year? Then, we started walking through the store. The store has decorations not only for Christmas but for Fall, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. Still want more holiday decorations? New Years, Spring Easter, Valentines Day, St Pattys Day, July 4th and Halloween are all covered at the Christmas Tree Shop. Wait a second, No Elvis Day?! I want the flying Elvis lawn ornament! haha I gravitate towards the back of the store, there is holiday food for sale! Yippy! I see a bag of caramel popcorn seasoned with Old Bay?! Then, I picked up a copper brownie tray with a seperator! You want coffee? They have walls and walls of K Cups! Cake mixes, cookie mixes, Christmas hot sauces?! It goes on and on. We used our coupon, bought a few items and went on our way. The Christmas Tree Shop is a 12 month out of the year store, any holiday decorations are being sold at the store. I went here yesterday hoping to get a large nativity display for my lawn and a few other things to get ready for this Christmas. While it had a large selection of holiday season items, there was not one item identifying the religious aspect of Christmas. When I couldn't find a nativity scene I made a point of looking for anything related to Christianity and found nothing, not even an angel. It's a very secular oriented Christmas store and should probably be called "Xmas Tree Shop and all that." P.S. Look online for coupons. I had a 20% off coupon which made a difference in the price for the items I did buy. read more

Not just a Christmas store but seasonal and jam packed with all kinds of stuff! The prices are really good; lots of good deals. I picked up a summer wreath for half what I would pay in Michael's. However, the down side is that it's in Riverhead along Route 58 where there is lots of traffic. And the store is so jammed packed with stuff that it is difficult to walk around. In some aisles there can only be one person with a cart at one time. So, you have to be patient and not in a rush when you go. read more

Absolutely the worst place I've ever worked, extremely disorganized, and dishonest. When I applied my application never said seasonal, they let me go 2 days before Christmas without even telling me. I've never received my last pay , now I've always gotten direct deposit from here and when I spoke to someone they said " it was mailed" now why would my last pay be mailed if it was direct deposit?. This place makes people work like slaves it's absolutely disgusting it's definitely not worth working here. read more

Definitely the best location -- far exceeds stock and cleanliness of Nassau or other Suffolk locations. A lot more room to walk around and always stocked. It is worth the trip to Riverhead for a much better shopping experience. The employees are always smiling and courteous. read more

Was just there and was helped by this lady named Kim. She was very helpful and so accommodating. Wish there were more workers like her. Walmart is right around the block but I will be comeing here from now on just because of the customer service. read more

This evening while shopping, I was purchasing items at the register and had a coupon for a certain amount, but did not reach the amount. Therefore, I told the employee to cancel my order and that I would go shop for more items to fill my quota. Later on this employee literally found me in the store and was very rude, accusing me of holding up her line and that I had to come to the front to pay. I reiterated to her that I said to cancel my order so I could get more items to reach the max for the coupon, but she continued to give me an attitude and roll her eyes, stating she was going to get security and that I walked away with my items without paying. Meanwhile I was STILL IN THE STORE. The employee then walked away, and when I went back online to pay, she saw me but ignored me and walked away from her registet. I asked to speak to a manager and said something to her about her employee. I never complain, but I don't appreciate being hunted down in a store and being accused by an employee and threatened to have security called on me. That was one of the rudest customer experiences I've ever had. I was even nice enough to not tell her manager how her employee stepped even more out of line and threatened to call security on me, even though I was still in the store with the items. Unfortunately for me (and probably luckily for that female employee), I did not catch her name, but she should learn how to threat customers. I work in customer service too and had a long, hard day at work today as well, but I don't take it out on my customers. read more

We stop by this store whenever we're out this way. They have all sorts of great odds-n-ends which change constantly. Their selection of seasonable items is always really good. The prices are VERY reasonable. Even if nothing catches your eye, and you don't pick up anything, it's a fun place to just browse. read more
