Christine's Family Dining is an amazing restaurant, a real gem for us on the Westside of Cincinnati. Located on Westbourne Dr. across from Western Bowl. This place pleasantly decorated & immaculate. Servers are always friendly & efficient. A new full menu covers a wide range of delicious meals from brunch (11:00AM -3:00PM) to lunch selections, to a variety of tasty dinners like the pot roast dinner with real (not boxed) mashed potatoes & green beans. Not to forget the full bar, & a vast selection of scrumptious desserts to top off a fabulous experience. Don't forget the $2 taco nights on Tuesdays. The menu is large with more than enough choices to satisfy everyone. I have tried several entrées and the only letdown was the meatloaf. Favorites include Filipino combo #3 and shrimp platter. We came here on a Saturday night, and it was pretty busy! Even though they were busy, Hayley was amazing! She kept coming back to check on us and refill our drinks! She took the time to talk with us and laugh with us! The food was very good! We tried several of the Filipino combo meals, and they were all delicious! The BBQ was very tasty, but it was cold! The egg rolls were so good that we ordered them as our "dessert"! We also tried the shrimp and crab cakes, and they were amazing! The fried cabbage was the perfect side dish! Finally visited after moving back to the "West Side" and proud to visit a family owned and operated restaurant post covid. The staff care and work hard to make sure everything ic correct and you have a good experience and the owner regularly walks through the restaurant to ensure everything is as expected. We had chicken sandwiches and cheese steak for lunch and it was all fresh and good. Looking forward to trying tacos and Filipino food next as both are highly recommended by friends and family. This is a great location for a dinner with your family or a night out by yourself, I ordered the chicken chimichanga with a side of green beans and mac & cheese in the mac & cheese was absolutely delicious as was the chimichanga I was so full I couldn't eat the green beans but you get a huge portion of food for the price you pay . My waiter Jonathan was really sweet and recommended great food for me as well as updating me on the specials and deals at the time. The inside is extremely clean and well-kept. The layout is very nice as well. American food and Filipino food as well are included on the menu items. My husband and I stopped in after the gym today for some breakfast on a recommendation from a friend. We walked in and sat at the bar for 10 minutes before someone (assuming it was the owner) emerged from the back and said "We're not open yet". Not "Hello", "You're welcome to wait", or "Would you like a drink while you wait?" - just "We're not open" and a curt "Okay" when we explained that the front door was open. We left and will never be back. Edited to add after reading the horrible message below: Christine, it was most definitely you, as I can identify you from your profile pic. We did not speak to a male, and we were not there 30 min before opening. It is unfortunate that you took this opportunity to lie and namecall when you could have salvaged this experience with a simple apology for the misunderstanding. However, I do thank you for showing the Yelp community exactly how you handle yourself and treat your customers. It says more than any review ever could. I will be sure to sure to share this with every Westsider who asks if we know anything about you or your establishment. Staff is super nice and prices are very reasonable. But there are next to no vegetarian options on the menu. When I ordered what I thought was one of the few options, the ravioli with marinara sauce, to my sadness it came with meat sauce. There was no mention of meat in the sauce on the menu, and marinara traditionally has no meat in it so it slipped my mind to even ask. I think that if this establishment were to be more inclusive with vegetarian diets, it'd be better off. Update: Thank you Christine for the helpful reply. I am very disappointed with this business and their carry out service. I called for an hour and a half straight tonight and the phone was busy for all 68 calls I tried to make to place my carry out order. This seems to be an ongoing issue and this is why I am writing this review. I try to call in orders for carry out often and every single time the phone is busy and I can never get through. Idk if they let people have casual conversation on their business line or if they leave the phone off the hook so they don't have to take carry out orders but this is certainly frustrating. I never did get to place my order tonight and had to take my business else where. I've noticed the owner doesn't respond well to negative reviews from reviewing the other reviews on Yelp so hopefully this review will be something she will take time to fix the issue and not deny it is an issue. ‍ read more

Christine's was stop 3 for us during Asian Food week 2021. I had been wanting to try Christines for awhile and finally got the chance. I was super surprised at how crowded it was, which is a great thing! We arrived and it was packed. However, we were seated immediately as it's a spacious establishment. We were seated and began to look at the menu. There is a lot to choose from. Christine's serves American, Italian, and Filipino food. There is something for everyone. Considering we came for Asian Food Week, there was a special. My husband and I got the special which was Christine's Feast. We got the kids, spaghetti and chicken fingers and fries. The feast consisted of Filipino Soup- 2 Pork Skewers- 2 Eggrolls- Pancit- Steamed Rice. I did like that it was a good way to try multiple items. The dish was good as far as flavors. However, the food tasted old. The rice was crusty and dry as if it was at the bottom of the pot/sitting all day. The rest of the food also tasted as if it was made earlier in the day and sat out all day or sat in warmers. The texture of everything was old. This was disappointing! The special also came with Fried Ice Cream at the end. I enjoyed this. My husband didn't really care for it. It was different, as Fried Ice Cream isn't something we eat often. Overall, the Christine's Feast has good potential but I wish our food would have been fresh! read more

For starters the waiter barely checked on us and didn't bother to refill our drinks till the 3rd time asking. When we did get our food my friend took 2 bites from the swordfish and found HAIR in her food and immediately stopped eating. Christine personally came out took the food and said she would take 50% off (she did not take 50% off they only took 5$ off like what??!) . As far as my dish I got steak and shrimp, they messed up the first time bringing it out giving me steak and chicken, I personally don't like there chicken, anyways sent it back they made it right the second time but the steak was like eating rubber, if I wanted rubbery food I'd eat my shoe. Anyways at the end we addressed the bill, and Christine came out and had the nerve to LIE she told my friend she ate 90% of her food when uh no she took 2 bites and sent it back didn't even get a remake. When called out on her lie SHE CAME AT US!!! The ACTUAL owner had to GRAB her and kept telling her to stop!!! I have NEVER had someone try to COME AT ME AT A RESTAURANT!!! Like what??! That shit was insane!! Unfortunately we had paid already at this point, we plan on talking to the ACTUAL owner because there is no way in hell I would have paid to have that type of ridiculous treatment seriously who tries to attack there customers??!!! In response to Christine, I ordered the steak and SHRIMP 'Ultimate' Quesadilla. I never asked for it to be cut in half, I ASKED if they were ABLE to put steak on one half and SHRIMP on the other half. Which isn't a crazy request? Cancun does it no problem along with MULTIPLE other restaurants I have been too. As for my friend she had 2 bites of the swordfish, which was the main course and she did finish the shrimp, she was willing to pay for the shrimp part but not the swordfish part or the you know HAIR in the cabbage right next to it, which she pointed out to you personally! You didn't remake it or attempt to make it right after HAIR being found in the food. Not to mention you SAID she could have 50% off and only took 5$ off. Come pay time, there was 4 of us, my friend Amir had zero complaints so not even sure why you were acting some type of way against him, as well as another man Danny, who also had 0 complaints, THEY were packing up THERE food. Brandi and I did NOT pack up our food. And honestly you should review the tape because OBVIOUSLY you need a refresher. No one said the waitress was a slave? Asked a couple times about our drink being refilled, think we even brought it up to you when you came to get the dish with HAIR in it. There is no "tactic" I have never had a bad experience in any of the restaurants here in Cincinnati. I am originally from Traverse City Michigan, my family owns a small bee farm I've traveled from Michigan to Florida throughout my entire life and been to MAJORITY of the states in between. I have NEVER had an issue, my mom and I are huge food lovers and love experiencing different places. Not once in the east coast states have we found HAIR in our food, had to deal with the face of a restaurant lying or had anyone try to PHYSICALLY COME AT US. So not sure what tactic you are getting at? There is no "good try though" it's sad to see humans acting that way especially when they are in the wrong. You clearly should not be permitted near customers if you can't control your temper and are willing to go as far as come at a customer. Do better in the future. And as for your last remark trust me I will definitely never be coming back. I try to eat at local restaurants when on business trips. Christine's is my go-to dine in or take out place whenever I'm in this part of the Cincinnati area. Since I usually travel alone for work, seating is never an issue for me since I can just plop down on a bar seat where they serve the full menu (worst case, 5-10 minute wait). Happy hour is usually packed, especially taco tuesdays. However, I never saw any pair or group in the waiting line stand there in the waiting area for more than 20 minutes. Parking is never an issue with the vast parking lot outside. I love the variety that Christine's menu offers --her take on ol' American comfort food, bar faves, Filipino, and Latin/Spanish. From the salads, apps (bbq sticks-yum!), sandwich/burgers, to full entrees...I honestly was never dissatisfied. My only constructive note is that the bbq and chops sometimes are on the dry side, but they usually are fine. Not much of a drinker, but their bar list is ample both domestics and foreign. When my schedule will not allow a sit down dinner, I will order takeout during lunch or just before I leave from work and my order will always arrive warm and elegantly prepared.
