When I stained my bridal shower dress at the shower and had to make a last minute pivot, she altered my backup dress in the same day She was so thorough in my consult - I originally wanted my dress to have a deeper v in the back, but she showed me how that would lead to it slacking in other areas and it would be very expensive to get everything tight again. She said she's happy to do it but we decided it'd be better to leave it as is (was still a very beautiful silhouette) She has that truly professional eye that you can trust. I was blown away too by how affordable it all was for her to tailor THREE outfits for me perfectly. Planning a wedding is stressful enough as it is but not having to worry about my dress was HUGE. There wasn't a part of my dress that did not need some sort of change/fix! Dropping your dress off for alterations is so nerve wracking, but if you're considering Emma then you're in good hands! I first met them when I ordered my Mother of the Bride dress in NYC and it required significant modifications. I rarely buy clothing that doesn't At any rate, we had just purchased our home in Scottsdale but I was still living mostly in Houston at the time and had a lovely tailor there ~ but I knew her skills were limited. I was actually leaving the bank and got lost when I saw the sign for Rose's Alterations. I stopped in and met Annette and her mom. We chatted about my dress and I made an appointment for a fitting. My thought was I'd see how she "worked with" the fabrics. A few days later I met with Rose and that's when I was sold. Beyond being the sweetest person, the moment she starts nipping and pinning ...if YOU know, you know. Rose is a master. That was nearly 8 years ago. Since then, Rose has been a godsend in that she's done amazing work and I would not trust anyone else with my wardrobe. Her latest magic was truly that. I had purchased a dress for an event, but it fit horribly. So I bought several options ...none were as cute as the first, so I in desperation, I reached out to Rose and Annette for help. The day before the event!! They came to my rescue!! I simply couldn't believe how quickly Rose transformed that sack into a perfectly fitting dress Both she and Annette are a joy to work with. Professional, warm and have an incredible attention to detail. I've dealt with tailors at all of the high end stores ~ Annette is far superior in her level of experience and professionalism. I cannot recommend Zahra enough! She worked on THREE wedding dresses, a flower girl dress, and my…read moremother-of-the-bride dress, and she truly helped make me feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day. For my ceremony dress, you can see in the first photo just how much fabric needed to be taken in from when I originally bought the dress. Zahra altered the bodice at both the waist and bust and added an American bustle so the dress was perfect for the ceremony and easy to manage afterward. For my reception dress, she did an incredible amount of detailed work --hemming eight layers of delicate horsehair, tulle, and satin. I was worried about stepping on the dress during our waltz so she recommended adding 10 bustles to lift the dress beautifully off the floor. I felt hot in the dress so she also took out some layers from the knee down. The dress was not too warm and all the work she did kept the dress off the floor and it spun perfectly. I felt like a cloud dancing the night away! She also added a hook to the zipper and a bow to my after-party dress, which was such a gorgeous finishing touch. I felt perfect in this dress as well. There was also an issue with the fit of one of my dresses that I initially thought might have been related to the original measurements. Zahra never made me feel uncomfortable about it and simply fixed the dress. I later realized that *I* was actually the reason for the change -- I had done more than 12 Pilates sessions between our initial appointment and the fitting, and I had gained muscle around my back! I felt especially lucky that she fixed it without charging me extra. Zahra is a true expert. Her experience working for a major bridal shop really shows in her precision, knowledge, and ability to work with complicated, high-end gowns. I am so grateful I found her. She went above and beyond, and the results were absolutely beautiful. I live about an hour away and she told me my dress would be ready the day before I went out of state for my friend's wedding. I picked my dress up around 4pm right before she closed and tried it on and all was good. Then, when I got home there was a huge hole in the dress seem right under my cleavage area. I was extremely irritated as I just drove an hour to pick it up and an hour home to have a huge hole. I texted her about this and she told me to come back so she can restitch it because that is where she opened the seem. I couldn't drive an hour back the other way again since my flight left at 3am the next day and I am pregnant and have a toddler I was taking to my mother's house and still had a lot to get done The fact that my dress was ready the evening before I left and the entire situation with there being a huge hole was just insane. She did offer to drive to my house and fix it but I do not feel comfortable with a stranger coming to my home knowing I was going out of town the following day. Overall I ended up paying over $120 to sew it myself and didn't even get offered some of my money back.
