Chris Nguyen is a barber at Unique Barber Shop which is located in front of Oak Tree Theater on Aurora. I just started going to him and I have to say he deserves the highest rating. A superb haircut and superior customer service. I'm sort of a fussy customer and I had Chris cut my hair slightly shorter than I had first told him to cut it and he was super accommodating and made sure I was happy with the results. Chris is easy to coordinate with via text/call, he's reliable and very efficient. Adult haircuts are $25 and he's consistent every time. Chris is friendly and easily makes conversation. The gentleman who I believe owns Unique Barber Shop always has customers as well and he and Chris operate on their own schedules. I am scared of haircuts. My mom traumatized me by cutting a piece of ear off. As you can imagine, I am standoffish when it comes to haircuts. But seeing the other yelp reviews plus he was less than 5min drive away, I figure let's try. I called Chris for an appointment and immediately felt at ease. Soft spoken voice. I can tell he is a great listener. I book appointment about 5 minutes from now. He said to ask for Chris. I walk through and I dont immediately see him. An older woman asked if I wanted a cut and I follow Chris's words on the phone. He comes out and leads me to the back. Gives me a book on what I am looking for. I dont know really so I deferred to Chris with something 'professional and looks good'. Not helpful but I felt he knew what I meant. Great conversation about my family. He washed my hair beforehand since my scraggly hair is unruly. Quick bits now: He used scissors. He waxed my brows for free. My hair, scalp and brows feel great. NOT heavyhanded. He texted me afterward to say thank you for coming in. He has been cutting hair since 1996. He is legit. I hope he cuts hair for a long time because I'm super happy with my very pleasant experience. read more

After ten years of cutting my own hair, I decided to get it cut for this first time recently. I found this little shop after reading so many reviews of people following this particular barber, Chris Nguyen from his old establishment. First off, don't be disappointed with the lack of parking, you could park across the street near the church. Second, it doesn't look like much on the outside but when you walk in it is definitely a legit barber shop. I'm really glad I came to this barber shop. I met Chris Nguyen and asked if I could get a haircut, luckily he had availability and I was able to get a haircut right away. Loved the fact that they were playing Sportscenter on the TV and it's a honestly a pretty decent barbershop inside. I asked for his opinion on haircuts and we were able to lock it down within a few minutes of looking through a book and asking his opinion. He is really easy to talk to and he's very effective and efficient (he's had his license since 1996!). I asked if he can make some adjustments to my hair after finishing and he was happy to oblige. He truly takes his time to make sure everything is perfect. I even got a neck/head massage at the end! I will definitely get my haircut from him again. Fantastic barber! read more

I recently moved to the PNW and began looking for a new barber. The first few places I tried were a little disappointing. Luckily, after a couple of months I stumbled upon Unique and met Chris. CHRIS IS THE BEST! He does fantastic work at a very reasonable price. My son and I are in and out in like 20 minutes and we are always extremely satisfied with the haircut. Chris is easy to get a hold of (call or text) and very accommodating to our busy schedule. I don't know what we would do without him. read more

I've followed my barber Chris Nguyen to Unique Barber from two other salons. He's fantastic--he's quick, efficient, responsive, friendly, a good conversationalist, incredibly inexpensive--and an expert at my (straight, thin) hair. He's my favorite person who's ever cut my hair, bar none. He gives great advice for styling and products. The other barber (proprietor?) I've seen there has always been welcoming and kind. He seems to specialize in short hairstyles for people of color. Unique Barber doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a real gem. I have nothing but great things to say about it. read more

I was skeptical at first with the small number of reviews, but Chris was amazing. Parking is tight, but apparently the church across the street doesn't mind if you park there. I had only a vague idea of the haircut I wanted, and Chris was able to fill in the rest. The service provided was significantly better than Supercuts, my old go-to, and CHEAPER! I left him a 50% tip, because I felt the price didn't match the quality. Chris, you need to charge more! I'll be back next month for another cut! read more

I live in the area. I had been growing tired and frustrated with some of the other barbers I go to, and wanted to check this place out. The reviews of Chris, the barber, seemed great. Well, yeah... Chris is awesome! Quiet little shop. Chris just did a buzz cut on me, but hey... i have had uneven buzz cuts before. Not the case with Chris. He is a good conversationist, and his hours/days are great. Tues-Sat. Until 6 or 7. And CHEAP!!!! Buzz cut and a straight razor neck shave. That is less than 1/2 what i usually pay. Don't be dissuaded by the small dark window to the shop. It is clean, and legit. You have a new fan! read more

I received the best haircut I've had in quite some time today from Bahru. Been trying to find barber in Greenwood for a few months now with no luck. Found Unique on yelp with good but limited reviews. Went in late morning with only one in the chair. My hair is a 1 up top and 0 on the sides and back with clippers. Sounds easy enough but it can be hard to get right. Bahru knows his way with a set of clippers, that's for sure. He gave me a top notch cut for less than $20. I've found my barber shop. read more

A great no-fuss community barber shop. Parking is limited so park around the corner. Read about this place on Yelp and it was exactly what I wanted. Quick, friendly service with super low prices. A cut I would have gotten at another place for my long hair cost $15 less at Unique Barber (I paid $20 instead of $35). I was helped by Chris Nyugen. He also has a manicure license but doesn't have a wide selection of nail polish yet (Chris hasn't been at this particular location very long). That certainly was a unique experience... The owner wouldn't pick up the phone, and when I dropped by on an early Saturday afternoon, he told me he was completely booked for the day. He said that with a straight face, even though aside from him and the person whose hair he was cutting, the place was completely empty. read more
