They cut the chicken in front of me and it was gross. And it came out of a plastic bag. And they took 40 minutes to give me what is supposed to be a grab and go salad. So I asked for a different type of chicken because it made me want to throw up. read more

I get lunch here almost everyday, and it is always quick, fresh and tasty! The staff is also very nice. Highly recommend!

Amazing salads and seating .... so cheap and I got to use my UVa student ID for 15% off

Really fresh ingredients that are bursting with flavor! Loved the food here and will definitely be back again soon! It is a little pricey but the food is so healthy that it is worth it. I had the Cobb salad- and I could only eat half although each bite was delicious! The dressing that came with it was Dijon and was too spicy for my taste. Luckily, I had asked for it on the side. I went over to the counter and they were happy to give me another dressing. I choose ranch, and I highly recommend it with the Cobb salad. Every forkful was creamy, crunchy and had bacon and avocado combined with fresh greens. Yum!! read more

The food is very good, service is slow and pretty disorganized, prices are a bit steep. Parking and seating is abundant. I got the kale chicken caesar salad, which was huge and delicious. Everything seemed very fresh. It cost $10 for the salad by itself. That's a bit higher than you would pay for a similar entree from Chipotle or Panera (in the same shopping complex). However, the salad was filling and relatively healthy at around 450 calories. In addition, each entree comes with a half slice of MarieBette sourdough bread. Service was pretty slow. I showed up around 11:30 and there were only three people in front of me in line. It took about fifteen minutes to get my food because of all the steps the employees had to take to make each salad. The process of ordering is similar to Subway or Chipotle, just going down the aisle picking out what you want added. I saw there is a convenient place at the end of the line to pick up to-go orders, so I'll probably be doing that in the future. The space is bright and airy, and there is a decent-sized outdoor patio. Overall, I like Chopt and will get lunch from here again. read more

Yum! Ordered to go online before we got there and it was ready super fast. Great quality ingredients, price was very worth the amount of food and the taste. Will definitely be back the next time we're in town. read more

Chopt Creative Salad Co. - Salad Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

Extraordinary Erix here. First, let's start this off by saying that salad does NOT stir up a euphoric response when wondering what food to fill their stomach with. However, that has changed (somewhat). When first entering the Chopt (spelling NEEDS to be corrected) establishment for the first time, I felt an instant feeling of openness and optimism. The pressure to not look lost was immediate however. I (The great Erix) was a little confused on where to go to get my "salad". That quickly changed once I decided to move my feet in a forward motion. Once at the counter I felt that same pressure to not look lost. There were about one million options to add to your salad. But, instead of creating my own masterpiece (which would have been extraordinary, like me) I looked at the board that displays the meal options. Mi ojos instantly gravitated to the word "chicken". Therefore, I ordered the "Crispy Chicken Ranch" salad. I watched my food carefully and delicately be placed into a large bowl. The next moment though was different. My salad was then dumped out onto a board and completely CHOPPED and shredded into smaller leaf pieces. The name now makes sense (still spelled aggravatingly incorrect). After following the line down to the register, I felt that there was something missing. Rather, there was "someone" missing. The only knock against Chopt is the strong phantom feeling that they are missing a token blonde haired gal at the end to complete the salad line experience. The feeling was heavy, but moving on. The salad. The key component. The salad was delicious! The fork full of little green leaves fit right into my pie hole. I loved the salad so much that I devoured it in rapid succession. The pairing of ingredients was perfect. A wonderful marriage of taste and flavor. I'd like to say more on the food itself, but in the end, it is SALAD. I got up full, yet happy. I knew that I ate a bowl full of God's green mess and was content with the idea that I was not covered in grease. To finish this post, I'd like to say thank you to CHOPT for the wonderful experience and food. read more

I come this place almost everyday. Love the people (shout out to Gio). Awesome customer service and make salad taste good.

The service at this location is great. I fell in love with the Mediterranean bowl earlier on, and it's pretty much all I get now. Through the app, they have a very easy order ahead situation, where you can pick up without having to wait in line. read more

I ordered from CHOPT (through Door Dash) for the first (and last) time today. we were excited about the delicious looking options on the website and had a hard time choosing. We finally decided on the Mexican Street Corn Salad and The Southwest Hatch Chili Pork bowl. What we received was a far cry from what was advertised.(See pics of both what is on their website and what we actually got) The Mexican Street Corn Salad was essentially a gigantic bowl of lettuce, with a  few corn kernels in it. No chicken whatsoever, and they also forgot the bread we asked for. The Southwest Pork was almost as disappointing, but technically did contain all of the advertised ingredients, including a few tiny pieces of shredded, anemic looking pork.  I called immediately and was told they would remake the salad, but I would have to come pick it up. If I had time in my day to leave work and go get lunch, I wouldn't have used Door Dash to begin with. However, being faced with eating nothing but a $12 bowl of lettuce for lunch, I left work and drove to CHOPT to pick up what I anticipated would be correctly made salad.  What I got however was essentially the same giant bowl of lettuce, with a tiny bit more corn, and approximately 3 chunks of chicken. They did add my "artisanal bread" this time- which essentially looked like a torn chunk of wheat bread one might buy at the gas station. When I complained I was told that it was made to company specifications and there was nothing to be done about it. Perhaps this is their intended way of saving money during the COVID crisis, by minimizing ingredient portions and filling up the gap with cheap lettuce. If so, it is backfiring terribly because I have no desire to ever eat such a pathetic, mis-represented meal again. Our meals looked NOTHING like what was advertised on the website. I have never contacted a company to complain, never written a bad review, no matter what type of awful service or disappointing meal I was served. But this is such an outrageous case of false advertising, that I refuse to simply shrug it off. To misrepresent the items they are selling so badly is nothing short of theft. Save your time and your money and stay far away from this bait and switch trap! read more

I come here often and love every salad I've had! Always friendly staff and they work very efficiently! Also it's nice that they are accommodating if I want to substitute something out for a different topping. Tried their California Cesar destination salad, it was spicy, but very good! I probably eat here like 4-5 times a month, thanks for making salads so fun and yummy! read more

I've been to Chop't locations all over the country, and the team at this location goes above and beyond. I've had only positive experiences here. I went in for a last minute catering order, and they did a great job. Someone helped me as soon as I got to the counter. I've been to Chop't a ton of times but wasn't sure what to order for the event. They made a great recommendation that everyone enjoyed. They paid attention to every detail, including putting the dressing in a separate container and adding bread to my order. They checked to see if I needed forks, plates, and napkins. I didn't even have to ask for anything specific. They just took care of everything. Outstanding service! Also, delivery from this location with DoorDash is fast and easy. read more

Chopt Creative Salad Co. - Siracha tzatziki is amazing! - Salad Near Me - Charlottesville, Virginia

I love this place. I passed it all the time for about a year before finally deciding to try it. I thought "why would I pay that much for a bunch of lettuce, I can make salads at home." These salads are well worth it though! I've tried the mexican caesar, crispy chicken ranch, chicken tonga bowl, and Sonoma California to name a few and haven't had one I didn't like. The salads are filling, have a good amount of each ingredient and are well mixed. The staff is also super friendly read more

I absolutely love this place! I usually get the chicken tinga and it is always delicious! I have tried a few other salads and have not liked them as much. They are pretty busy during the week and a little unorganized, but if you order on the app you can get in and out quick! read more

Yuck! Salad from a blender prepared in a frantic manner and served in plastic bowl in a high school cafeteria setting. Oh yeah, and sold at a premium price! Lastly, the "sliced and diced" salads look more like cattle feed than the fine foods depicted on the firm's advertising sites. To close on a good note, I'll mention the tiny/thin slice of crusty bread thrown on top of the salad (upon request only) was okay. read more

I am so disappointed. Went in tonight craving a Texas Po boy only to find they don't carry it anymore. Because they still have the dressing I made my own bowl but that apparently is more expensive than what the Po boy used to cost. Also don't have my second favorite California steakhouse now. Not sure what the motivation is behind it but all I know is I don't think I can justify going to chop't anymore. I have other salad options. 2 stars only because the staff have always been nice to me. read more

Sweetgreen is infinitely better because their variety is so much better (my meat-eating friend agrees). They only had one vegan option here, and tofu wasn't even on the menu. I saw tofu in the tubs, but it was plain white tofu #bland Roots here in town has BBQ tofu and miso-glazed tofu, and both Roots and Sweetgreen have way more grains options, so you can actually fill full throughout the night. I'm glad I was able to finally try Chopt (and not wait in the long line at Roots), but when you compare it to other restaurants with the same concept, it definitely falls on the lower end in terms of variety and fullness. However, if you really want a good classic salad for $10, Chopt is your go-to. The super nice staff, interior, and patio aren't bad either. read more

LOVE this place. My favorite is the Mexican Caesar. I add additional jalapeños and avocado. Excellent salad and very fresh. Staff is courteous and they make the food quickly. Will definitely be back! read more

Decided to give Chopt a try since I had never been there. Went there with my boyfriend and we both ordered salads from the menu. Both of our salads were DELICIOUS and customer service was amazing!!! One star off because of very pricy salads, they can get real expensive for students like us. read more

Really fast and friendly service! Always have something new or you can make your own. You get a *free* piece of bread when you buy a meal. A little pricy for a salad but it is a pretty big salad! Never been even close to finishing the whole thing in one sitting. read more

I'm not usually one for Yelp reviews and I really wanted to like this place, but it was horrible. My boyfriend went to pick up a couple of salads for us this evening. I can't handle spice. He asked the cashier if the salad he was ordering for me was spicy and the cashier answered with a grunt, refusing to answer the question. He paid extra for avocado on my salad and got charged for it, but it wasn't in there and my salad was so spicy that I felt sick after a few bites and had to throw it away. What a waste of $25, food and customer service included. I'll be telling everyone I know to stay away from this place. read more

AFFORDABILITY: Probably the most expensive salad meal I have ever had, salad drink and tax just pennies shy of $17 . PARKING: It's in a Shopping Center VENUE: It clean and bright but nothing special unless you like to pretend you are meeting Mia Farrow in a scene from a Woody Allen movie c. 1973 GENERAL: At the chopping station they slice-and-dice your salad however fine you would like it (don't have to chop it if you don't want) and add the dressing. I would strongly recommend you don't have it chopped if you have any allergies because the "cleaning" between salads is rudimentary at best. THE FOOD: It's a salad, nothing more nothing less But do be warned to keep the calorie counts down their dressings are super powerful, if it says spicy there is fresh ground horseradish in it according to staff OVERALL: It's worth going to but it is expensive, count on $14 and up for a meal and a tea. read more

Pass on this place. Cobb salad was one of the worst I've ever had. Far too much egg, skimpy on the meat, bland, tastes like nothing, and was next to dry even after requesting extra dressing. Chick fil a has better salads for god sake. Also, can get a bit pricey with any modifications. Totaled $14 at the end. What?? Lol. No. Keep it moving. Won't go back. read more

Was really excited about trying this restaurant. Unfortunately, we probably won't be back. Ordered the Korean BBQ salad at which time the worker behind the counter told me they had no dressing for it. I chose the Mediterranean salad. The person waiting on us put on a little spoonful of peppers. I asked for more and he told me in his best "I'm the man in charge voice", that normally there would be a charge but he would waive it for me since they didn't have the salad I wanted. I appreciate it but seriously?? For a spoonful of peppers? Next my salad was passed to the next guy who had no idea what he was doing and was clearly new. Man in Charge kept yelling at him to ask if he didn't know the salads instead of any using patience. I'm a little surprised new guy put up with it. I was embarrassed for him. They were out of chicken so there was a long wait for that. They burnt my niece's chicken quesadilla and had to remake it. Everything was extremely disorganized. The salad was okay but nothing great. The only way this gets 2 stars is that they did comp my salad but not the quesadilla we had to wait for twice. read more

In my first review I complained about the very high prices here even though the food is very good. The manager was kind enough to respond to my review and invited me to come back and try again. After eating here today I was pleasantly surprised to see the price to drop a few dollars to a more reasonable price for a salad for lunch. In addition they have a lot of choices and especially with the toppings. You can get just about anything you want. At this point I would highly recommend this if you want a very good salad but it's not just a normal house salad. read more

THIS PLACE NEVER HAS WHAT YOU WANT. I go in at 6pm frequently, and they are always out cauliflower rice and the soups. This is a popular and earLy time to be going to Chopt, and the fact that they haven't caught on that they NEVER have enough ingredients to last them the night is RIDICULOUS!!!!! I will stop going here if they continue to disappoint. read more

This was the worst salad I have ever tried to eat. This is a joke of a restaurant. Do not waste your time or money eating here. $15.00 for a 1/2 a cup of soup and a salad I threw in the trash!! No wonder their was only one other customer in there. read more

Great first experience at Chopt! Delicious salads, excellent service and they offer a 30% military discount.

This place is grossly overpriced. I paid $17 for a salad, a water, and a piece of bread that is literally the size of a bread sample at the grocery store. I paid $2 extra for an eighth cup of tofu. I could have gone to the store and bought all of these ingredients for the same cost. And the staff was not at all helpful. It was like they had no patience for someone who hadn't been there. And they weren't even busy. There was no one else in line. read more

I'm a salad bar junkie, so at this place I have to give up some of my control and let someone else make my salad. You can have them build your own salad for you though. They also have classics like Caesar and Cobb right on their menu and lots of other speciality salads right on the menu. I ordered Cobb right from the menu and it was good. I'll be back and trying other stuff soon. read more

The salads are huge! I don't usually love salads because I feel hungry after but these are full of filling ingredients. I prefer the warm salads. And they are great about letting you try the different dressings. I haven't found a dressing that I really love there yet which is why only 4 stars. UPDATE: I found a favorite! The Chicken Tinga with Mexican Goddess dressing. Also, I love the kids menu - now my 5yo will eat something here. read more

This place is very clean. They clean the cutting board and salad choppers between each guests, which is so important for people with allergies. I had the vegan Mexicali and sante fe. The dressings and fried onions are delicious. The portions are large enough to cover lunch for two days. I just didn't care for the taste of the free bread. read more

Let me say this first . I'm always unhappy with this location. Food is always out and it's not just one it's multiple . All I want is a chicken tinga and most of the time it's always out . There are 2 reasons why I even keep spending money there . One being the other options on the menu are good and I could always make my own . And two the service is top notch . The last one I was there I believe it was a couple days before Christmas. AGAIN OUT OF TINGA but Quincy and that sweet girl kinda of timid were a huge help offering me different options to keep me from leaving . I ended up getting the al pastor. I was skeptical at first cuz pineapple dressing is just strange to me . But Quincy said it was his favorite thing here . He even explained the flavors to me . It was very helpful and in the end I got my salad and he even told me I could get what ever I wanted on him if I didn't like it even threw in a 10 dollar slip just because "I hate that you are never getting your chicken tinga and I want you to keep coming " . I think this place would be nothing with out him very genuine guy from just a couple of visits . I just wish you guys could order more food because I'm very tired of not having what I want . But to Quincy and the girl who help me you guys keep up your good work !! read more

Great . It all looks good and fresh . Yeah great like everyone says parking is good but prices are nuts !! Just ridiculously expensive .

This was my first time here. And I couldn't have had the best time here . I was greeted with such joy ! This was by far the worst salad experience I've ever had. Wendy's produces better salads. Customer service was atrocious. If a customer is paying, give them what they are paying for with no hesitation. SMILE!!!! Practice proper portioning!!! No one wants to eat 3 handfuls of green and peek-a-boo toppings. I will never return to this establishment and I pray management does something about this. My colleagues and I were VERY disappointed. This entire experience was trash! read more
