We usually go to Plates up the street but we wanted to give this place a try. Bad idea. When calling in my take out order, I first ordered 2 drinks- Thai tea and coconut snow. I asked for it to me made with almond milk and she said they only have soy milk to substitute... and the Thai tea was already pre-made. Ok, so I ordered both anyway.. along with other dishes. When my husband went to pick it up.. he only came home with the the coconut snow.. forgetting about the Thai tea. He said it wasn't given. So I called numerous times and it was crazy busy. While on the search for a new noodle place brought us here today. It was lunch time and it was packed, we had to park a block away. Luckily there was one table left. I had their Won Ton Soup. Wonderful broth with lots of won tons, zucchini, cilantro, nappa cabbage and chicken thigh meat. Very good soup. Hubby had their BBQ Pork Chop with fried rice. The meat had good flavor and he liked it. The rice would have been better if it wasn't cold. Our waitress offered to reheat it or bring us a fresh side of rice, that was nice. They have a bigger menu that other noodle places, I like that and a huge drink menu, boba's, bubble, slushie and coffee drinks etc.... Over all it was good, good service too on a busy day. We have eaten at this restaurant for several years, last new years eve we met some friends for an early dinner. The place was so cold that I never took my jacket off. One of my dinner mates spilled her drink and when she went to get a towel they gave her a stack of napkins to clean up, they didn't even come to lend a hand or refill her drink. But back to the food I ordered it was the Eggplant basil tofu and the tofu was not edible to eat they fried it so much it's like rubber but the eggplant was good this was a little different than the last time I ordered it, I remember the last time I ordered it everything was so good tofu was nice fried just right soft enough to enjoy it but something has changed in this recipe no onions anyway it's not the same and husband ordered the Basil eggplant and beef , beef was so tuff it was non edible so not sure if same person cooking but something ant wright in that kitchen and that's another reason we haven't ordered any food in a while because food is not consistent anymore and very sad about it because we use to eat there quit a bit but not anymore. read more

Young girl was allowed to sit in a booth in the front room, waiting for an employee. She had her feet all over the seat, wallowed on the table, played with her hair and did not look like she felt well because she huddled under a covering. This is an update on this restaurant. For my vegan and vegetarian friends, proceed with caution. Under the Vegetarian menu, the ONLY vegan dishes are soups (v1-v7). And the rest of the dishes are "vegetarian"? Though the rest all contain oyster sauce (v8-v16) because all the sauces are pre-bottled and contain the sauce. I'm not sure if that's vegetarian or not but do with that as you wish. Also the fried rice is pre-made with egg already in it so it cannot be made vegan by taking it out. On a positive note all the drinks MINUS the Thai tea are dairy free (Bobba is vegan friendly). The pic notes the NON-Vegan dishes in red (they have oyster sauce that cannot be removed). read more

I was a regular customer here until today. I usually come in once or twice a week. Never again will I set foot in this place. I ordered a veggie pho because I don't eat animal products and it's important to me. Well I heard some chatter in the back about the veggie pho and it sounded like something was wrong with it. It took a while to come out so figured they remade it. Well I'm a little over halfway done eating my soup when I find a piece of meat. I instantly felt sick and just sad. I let the server know and she said "a piece probably just fell in". She had this "so what" kind of vibe, even though it was obvious I was upset. She asked if I wanted another one in a condescending tone. I said no and she gives me the bill while I went to the bathroom because I felt sick. No apology, no offer to discount or anything. I love Chopstix's, I don't cook so I eat out most of the week. My favorite meal is the five spice chicken with vegetables and a Chai snow boba. You can't beat the amazing freshness and the chicken is tender and has great spices. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is friendly. I really liked my tofu vegetable with glass noodles. It was really hot, had the right amount of soy sauce mixed in, and the vegetables and tofu were plentiful. It was definitely good enough for one person. When I tried what my family members ordered, the fried chicken and the dry noodles tasted awful. The place definitely has an Asian Fusion feel to it, especially since you have to pay for hot tea. It's only a $1 though and it comes with refills. The food however is really cheap so you can easily spend about $10 for 2 people and you'll be good. The service here is nice. Came in to have lunch the other day. It was a Wednesday, probably around 12:45pm when I walked in. There's a sign at the front that says wait to be seated right at the door. Okay, cool. I don't mind waiting. So I wait. A few workers walk back and forth from the kitchen to the main dining area, look at me, but don't say anything. I'm thinking, "hey, maybe they're just busy, they'll get to me." 10 minutes pass, no one says anything. So, I take some initiative and go sit at the bar. An older waitress sees me sitting down, and goes back to what she was doing. She continues that, and walks by me another couple of times before I decide enough is enough. I get up, and walk out. I know it's a Vietnamese restaurant, and I really don't expect good service from a place like this. But to be completely ignored, for 15 minutes? That's just unacceptable. Though the experience sucked, it's not the first time I've been to Chopstix. I've been here enough to have an idea of what their actual food tastes like. Marginal. At best. I know because I've lived in both San Jose and Orange County, two of the most populous Vietnamese areas in the nation. The beef Pho was not very good, it had over cook spaghetti noodles and 3 pieces of beef that were like cardboard. The spicy beef had alot of fish sauce and again mushy spaghetti noodles. The wonton soup was good. The steamed buns had an entire egg in it which was unexpected and wierd. I got popcorn chicken for my 8 year old and that was yummy. I may go back to try the rice dishes. The noodles they serve is different from the "normal" Pho rice noodles. Their noodles is a little thicker. I added in a shrimp egg roll which is one of my favorite appetizer here. It was only $1.25 for the egg roll. I also ordered the Fried Banana Dessert. I liked it and it's perfect for 2 people if you want something sweet after your meal. The fried bananas taste like a fried egg roll banana crepe! It had Chocolate inside of it and you can taste the cinnamon too. Price is $3.50. My total bill came out to $11.73 which is inexpensive. I come here all the time and today I came with my boyfriend after school. today is the last I come here. I waited about 40 mins to get my food which was the basil eggplant and when it finally came to the table the eggplant they served me was rotten. I had told the lady that it was rotten and she had just looked at us then looked at the food then walked away and said nothing. We walked up to the counter to pay for our drinks and i hear her in the back talking in Spanish saying " these assholes said the eggplant is bad and that we weren't going to eat it" then i heard another lady saying just take it off and give it back and say we're going to remake it. Great a spot for quick, cheap and delicious food. The dry noodle bowls are legit! Try the bbq pork combo with shrimp and the Lemmon grass beef. My wife LOVES the soups and they are all super tasty. It's our first time dinning after the quarantine!! When I got here there were only 4 costumers !! I got seat (party of 6) 15 min later the server show up ! Took the order ! Guest what !
