We have been going to Noodle Bar (NB) for a few years now. They are still in a very narrow strip mall with somewhat limited parking, but we have been able to get a spot every time. The area is still pretty sketchy and since COVID there is still no seating at the restaurant so plan to get your food to go and take it back to a safe place to enjoy it--we do not recommend eating in you car. We tried that before and the homeless people walking by made it super uncomfortable. On this visit, a guy who belonged in a psychiatric hospital was yelling so loud while crossing the street that two of us left NB to go outside and see what the problem was--just a sick man yelling so went back inside. Despite all that, NB does great business, and as other Yelpers have noted, NB food quantity is still very good for the price. Prices have gone up but not as bad as elsewhere and it is still a good deal for what you get. The food quality really depends on personal taste. We live in San Gabriel, so there is no shortage of stellar Asian food there and NB cannot compete. However, we really like NB's curry chicken. Their noodle dishes really vary in quality, but none of them are bad, all are at least ok, and some are good. This time we also got a chow mien. It was basically fried ramen noodles, not chow mien noodles. It was not stellar, but hey we still liked the flavor and enjoyed it. We tried for the first time the catfish nuggets. It is basically what is called salt and pepper fish filet elsewhere, but with catfish at NB. It's fried, salty fish so what's not to like. It comes with what appeared to be sweet chili sauce, but we did not try that. Business was so good that after trying to call in our order twice, which we definitely recommend doing, no one answered. We drove over and put in our order in person and saw that they were super busy--the lady taking orders missed at least one call in just while taking our order in person. Her and the people cooking were working super hard--massive props and respect to them for working hard to create a successful and long standing business in the community. We will definitely be back again and definitely recommend you give them a try. I believe the only or best (lol) menu photos were the ones I posted about 3 years ago and so I am posting and update if those with this revues and to their business. Noodle Bar? No, you must mean HAIR BAR! ANOTHER DNA sample wound up in my fried rice! What is happening here?! Another hair! And no, not my own. Definitely not my own, because the length and colors are off and it was in the middle of the food. I tried going back to them, but alas, they are hair ENTHUSIASTS here. Folks, what about opening a salon? Or using hair nets? I'm sorry for the rudeness, but there just isn't any way else to say it, because twice is pretty strange. (Three, if you count someone I know.) I love this place! So happy I found it and one location is near my home. Both locations are dope! I've become addicted and come here more than I should. Great, quick service, the one in Seaside is a "to-Go" only so there's that. But the food is great! This area doesn't have many places that I'd frequent often but this surely is one of them! Just got off the phone with Noodle Bar after getting our take out. Just want to say how incredible this place is top to bottom. Service is always great, the food is made with love and hot hot for pickup. So appreciate the staff there. I will add photos later, but the dishes cannot be beat, especially today when everything is so expensive! We just got food from here on Friday and we're back again today. We will both take servings from both main dishes (lemongrass beef chow fun and vegetable chow mein) and it won't look like it's even touched. Still overflowing. And we can eat. Good atmosphere, fast-paced but comfortable. The Seafood Soup was good, not a lot of vegetables in there but the large is a good portion to keep you full for a while. The Lemongrass Beef is okay, the beef barely tastes like lemongrass and the noodles were a little overcooked, barely any bean sprouts, but the lettuce was good and fresh, good sauce and they use cilantro to garnish. The food was great. The broth tasted amazing and the friend rice had some char on it that gave the rice extra flavoring. It is a bit loud inside and isn't much seating room so you'll get lucky if you even find a place to sit with there only being about 6 tables. The tables are really tight so it was hard for me to squeeze into the booth considering I'm not the thinnest person or the heaviest set. The reason I give 3 stars is due to the fact that the order of shrimp egg rolls came filled with oil. I know egg rolls are deep fried but these were above and beyond drenched in oil to the oil that the plate was catching the drips of oil when an egg roll was taken off the plate. One I bit into the egg roll I could feel the oil running down my lips and as I would chew and swallow I could still feel the oil residing on my tongue and back of my throat. read more

This hole in the wall was a quick grab and go. $30 total for a large lemongrass chili beef vermicelli and a large five spices chicken vermicelli. These to go boxes were filled to the top, and it fed our party really well. Such big value!! Next time when I'm in the area and feeling broke and hungry, I'll be back to get some more. G-DAMN! The portions here are huge it'll be difficult to eat a normal sized plate in one sitting! Not only that but the flavor is phenomenal and so are the house chili sauce and oil. It gives hole in the wall which means the service is what it is but they were really nice. But not authentic vietnamese type of flavor. The fried rice also had no flavor. It was literally just yellow in color but tasted the same with some peas and carrots in it. But the food is Piping HOT! Which is great. It kinda burns your lap while trying to eat in the car but it's so hot and fresh. So hey for the price, if you're looking for something to eat then yes this place is fine if you're not looking for healthy food. If you're craving authentic viet/Asian food, then this place isn't it (not to say that's bad!).
