    $9.25 Wonton Soup

Thank you for being open! Hard to review this one because I only ate one item. Giving them a solid 4 stars. 4 stars Wonton soup. Wontons were decent and had some nice flavor. Veggies were good. Broth needs a kick of flavor.

Cash and card accepted. Lucky Bamboo is located in a small plaza next to Dollar Tree and offers a lot of plaza parking. It is Covid ready with screens and hand sanitizer and doesn't allow seating. I called in my order of Kung Pao shrimp, wonton soup, chicken chow mein, and egg rolls for pick-up on a Saturday afternoon and it was ready in 20 min. I paid $49 after tax and tip. Unfortunately this place gave me a stomachache and I don't know if it was from all the oil and grease or if the shrimp was bad. I would not recommend this place and will not go back.

This place has changed ownership in the last few years and they've done a great job with their dishes. Everything that we had was flavorful and competitively priced. They also offer dinner menu options for 2 & lunch specials.

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant in Seaside. We hadn't gone to this Chinese restaurant at this Fremont Blvd location in many many years. We realized it's changed hands since then. As we made the turn into the driveway we saw "Lucky Bamboo" signs facing the street side and as we walked up towards the restaurant we saw the sign "Juicy Crab". We were a little confused thinking it might be all seafood but thought we'd take a chance (I live for seafood, my other half does not). We were the only ones there for lunch. The tables were covered with white paper and we thought uh-oh, meant for cracking shellfish and crab! The dining area is as big as any fast food restaurant and had a large tv screen. The menu was about half traditional Chinese and half seafood - a lot of variety, and an abundance of pictures on the walls of their dishes. Service was quick, attentive and courteous and both our lunches off the lunch special menu were heaped generously with traditional Chinese cuisine including a fresh salad and soup. We were both happy to bring leftovers home. I would definitely come back and order from their seafood menu as well as try the other items offered. The only complaint (hence the 4 stars) is the place may have an "identity crisis" - are they "Lucky Bamboo" and/or "Juicy Crab"? We almost turned around and it might do the same for people with an aversion to seafood. Despite the signage we now have a good "new" Chinese restaurant in Seaside!

This time, my partner and I got the Sichuan cold noodles, fish soup with pickles, and eggplant in garlic sauce. The noodles are a great texture, and the sauce super flavorful with a little sweetness and numbing spice. The fish in the soup is super tender, cooked to perfection. The soup has a little spice, but it's mild and balanced with the pickled veggies. The eggplant has so much flavor, sweet and umami. We also love ordering the Dandan noodles, cumin lamb, and shredded potato. These dishes are very similar to ones we ate while visiting the Sichuan province in China. They offer all of the familiar favorites as well like chow main, fried rice, and Mongolian beef (but I highly recommend trying some specials). The service is friendly and efficient. The food comes out quickly. You can also easily order for pickup on their website. The inside of the restaurant is cozy with plenty of seating. I will continue eating here whenever I'm craving Sichuan flavors (which is often).

Unfortunately, the chow mein was one of the worst I've had. It was mostly noodles with very little meat, and the meat that was included tasted old. I ended up throwing away at least half of it. Normally, I would have sent it back, but since it was a delivery order that wasn't practical. I had hoped to save some for leftovers, but the quality wasn't good enough to justify reheating. I also ordered two char siu baos, but after my experience with the rest of the meal, my expectations are pretty low. My biggest concern was the packaging. None of the food was sealed in any way. The chow mein container had popped open during transit and was handed to me already open. The other takeout container wasn't taped or sticker-sealed either, and the soup came in a plastic container with no seal at all. In my opinion, restaurants using delivery services should place tamper-evident stickers or tape on all containers. Food should not be arriving open or capable of popping open during delivery. The lack of sealing was concerning and did not inspire confidence. The soup was also only about half full, which made me wonder whether some had spilled during transit or if that was the intended portion size. Overall, the beef with broccoli was merely okay, the chow mein was very disappointing, and the packaging raised concerns. Based on this experience, I do not plan to order from or visit this restaurant again.
