The place advertises as Cajun, but Chinese-dishes are also served. We ordered the fried calamari, Mongolian beef, and shrimp fried rice for a party of six. I was satisfied with the speed our dishes were cooked and brought out, but the meal left much to be desired. The fried calamari came in a small paper tray with less than 10 pieces; each fried round being a bit larger than a quarter and it arrived with ranch. Mongolian beef could've been great if it wasn't for the excessive use of sweet dark soy sauce and sugar. It had a noticeable molasses and soy flavor that was candy-like. Our shrimp fried rice came moist and steamy. It looked sloppily cooked, which is unbelievable considering they made it in a wok...there was also only 4 shrimps hiding in the mountain of fried rice. The dish had little flavor. Soy sauce is needed to give the rice some depth. I wouldn't recommend this place if you want at minimum, "good" Chinese food. Portion sizes are generous for entrees, but the flavors are quite uninspired and bland. read more

Cash and card accepted. Lucky Bamboo is located in a small plaza next to Dollar Tree and offers a lot of plaza parking. It is Covid ready with screens and hand sanitizer and doesn't allow seating. I called in my order of Kung Pao shrimp, wonton soup, chicken chow mein, and egg rolls for pick-up on a Saturday afternoon and it was ready in 20 min. I paid $49 after tax and tip. Unfortunately this place gave me a stomachache and I don't know if it was from all the oil and grease or if the shrimp was bad. I would not recommend this place and will not go back. read more

So my family and I live less than a mile from this place and have eaten here with the previous owners as well as the current for years and years. We eat here about once a month and have honestly never had a bad experience. Not sure how they've had so many bad reviews because I love the new owners. We do stick to the same items though so I can only attest to the greatness of what we order. Our go to items are -any kind of chow mein, salt and pepper pork chop or chicken, sweet and sour pork, broccoli/oyster sauce beef, and we do enjoy their honey walnut shrimp as well. This used to be my go to for Chinese. My wife and I were so confused when we saw a Cajun themed juicy crab menu and signage. (First red flag). This had never been there before in the past. We ordered sizzling rice soup, hot and sour soup (1 gigantic size bowl only), pork buns, egg rolls, chow fun, and Mongolian Beef. The hot and sour soup was the hottest I've ever had. I thought it was just me and took it as a loss. The sizzling rice soup had a layer of brown oil that neither my wife nor I have ever seen. The egg rolls and pork buns were microwaved (second red flag - also you can hear it from the dinning room). The pork buns tasted similar to frozen Costco ones I buy. The chow fun had clumps of noodles stuck together and were super over cooked to point it was chewy. The Mongolian beef was alright but quality has definitely declined since our last visit. All in all we're not going back. All that money wasted 73$ for food that we're just going to throw away. read more

My sister was in town visiting and since she loves pork fried rice, we decided to call in an order to Lucky Bamboo one night. We ordered her mandatory orders - pork fried rice and orange chicken. It was ready in about 10-15 minutes so we picked it up and made a short 5 min drive home. About 10 min later we ate. Unfortunately, by then, the orange chicken was pretty soggy. We kinda expect that with takeout but in addition to soggy, it seemed to be almost all breading. The breading to chicken ratio was really off. So off that, even though we rarely waste food, the majority of it is still in my fridge. The pork fried rice was pretty good, if not a little dry. I liked all the veggies and the charsu-style pork in it. My sister used a lot of soy sauce. lol Soooo... I will give it one more chance and am hoping for a better experience next time. Everyone else seems to love it so many Sunday was just an off night. Might see ya there. read more

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant in Seaside. We hadn't gone to this Chinese restaurant at this Fremont Blvd location in many many years. We realized it's changed hands since then. As we made the turn into the driveway we saw "Lucky Bamboo" signs facing the street side and as we walked up towards the restaurant we saw the sign "Juicy Crab". We were a little confused thinking it might be all seafood but thought we'd take a chance (I live for seafood, my other half does not). We were the only ones there for lunch. The tables were covered with white paper and we thought uh-oh, meant for cracking shellfish and crab! The dining area is as big as any fast food restaurant and had a large tv screen. The menu was about half traditional Chinese and half seafood - a lot of variety, and an abundance of pictures on the walls of their dishes. Service was quick, attentive and courteous and both our lunches off the lunch special menu were heaped generously with traditional Chinese cuisine including a fresh salad and soup. We were both happy to bring leftovers home. I would definitely come back and order from their seafood menu as well as try the other items offered. The only complaint (hence the 4 stars) is the place may have an "identity crisis" - are they "Lucky Bamboo" and/or "Juicy Crab"? We almost turned around and it might do the same for people with an aversion to seafood. Despite the signage we now have a good "new" Chinese restaurant in Seaside! read more

I have come here since I was a kid! The previous owners sold it and I have to say they left it in good hands. The new owner is kind and very open to making the customers happy. If there is something you want changed or maybe a little different he is willing to make the changes to make his customers happy! It's nice to come into a restaurant where you feel welcomed! It's almost like coming over to a friends home and enjoying a good laugh and meal. I will be a loyal customer for sure! Also if you ever want extra meat the $2.00 are worth it! He really hooks it up! Not one was good. Broccoli beef, nothing but broccoli. MAYBE 6-8 pieces if we were lucky. Shrimp with veges? All veges again, counted 6 shrimp. Chow mein? Umm, nope. Will never order again. The guy with whom I spoke with, very friendly, hubby picked up food, he also said the gentleman was very friendly. Sorry, but we won't order from here again. We expect a protein with our veges. If you've grown up eating Chinese food or you are from the San Francisco Bay Area with hella good Chinese food do NOT eat here. You will be extremely disappointed. Walnut shrimp had syrupy lemon sauce on top and the beef in the crispy noodle was a tiny bit gamey. The vegetables were undercooked and so clearly not cooked in the sauce as they are supposed to be. The noodles also seemed to be fried earlier in the day or in oil that had been used already to fry something else. It is not Chinese nor even Asian run. I had pancit with shrimp. It was really tasty and there were plenty of large shrimp in it. We also had shrimp fried rice and I can say the same about that dish. The crab rangoons were not greasy so that was a big plus and my husband enjoyed his Kung Pao chicken. *The only thing we do not like is that the entrees do not automatically come with rice. This must be a local thing. We are from the Midwest and every Asian restaurant there serves there entrees with rice. So just be aware that if you want rice with your entrée, you need to order it. Found this quaint little hole in the wall on our way to monterey. At first I questioned even going in, as the surrounding area and businesses are very sketchy and ghetto looking, but my sister was craving it based off the yelp reviews, so we went it. I was pleasantly surprised!! Service was nice and our food came out fast and soooo delicious. We ordered the combo appetizer plate and the house pan fried noodle platter with a side of fried rice.... sooo good! The noodles on the house pan platter were so crispy and had a golden flavor to it. And the rice was perfectly fluffy! Best of all, the food wasn't over done or greasy. Just perfect. We ate till we almost burst. Had high hopes for this place. Good menu, clean inside and friendly counter person. Sadly the food was mediocre at best. No rice or noodles were included despite pricing that you would expect would include these basics. I ordered Kung Pao beef and it could have been any soy based veg and beef dish. No hint of spice or pow in the Pao. Tempura veg was meh. Might have been a bad day for the chef, but we spent $45 on lunch with tip and wish I had that $ back. read more

First time here and I have to say it is awesome. Did not expected such great food. Yes it may not be what your used to but I do recommend this place. Service was great not too busy at the time we went. Iced tea is very flavorful for me. I love jasmine green tea. Place is smaller than we have been to. But usually the small whole in the walls have the tastiest food. Recommend the spicy fish w/basil. My wife loved it and she can not do spicy. I don't know if the cheese cake we gotten was a regular dessert but my wife recommends. Ask for it. The owner is awesome and very friendly and inviting. I am not saying it is the best place over any other but for our family we will always make it a restaurant that we frequent. Egg foo yung was different from what we are used to but it was great. I was really excited to try this restaurant yesterday and was very disappointed. I put in an order through doordash and they didn't have my food ready until 1 hours after my request. My dasher has to wait for my food. Then we finally get it and it's very bland with no flavor. I ordered the eggplant special and it was so spicy I couldn't eat it and had shrimp in it. I didn't order any of that to be in my eggplant. The fried rice was flavorless and dry, also the potstickers, and the orange chicken was nothing fancy and not sweet. As a New Yorker, I have a superior pallet than every Californian ever. Most restaurants here are garbage, but not Lucky Bamboo. They restored my faith that a decent restaurant could exist in this culinary wasteland. Their takeout food, is not only delicious, but they also have excellent customer service. After I've ordered there a couple of times, the staff acknowledges my business and was even nice enough to throw in a cute keychain. They go the extra mile.
