First time I stopped by was in August 2024 to bring my bb girl to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I was craving boba & was happy to find something in this area particularly on my way to the hotel. The first time I ordered some egg rolls I mentioned to the staff that I think it might have been a bad batch because my daughter and I thought it tasted spoiled maybe? She told me I got you, the next time I come back but I told her I was from the Bay and she mentioned they moved from the 209. She also ensured us that they make it fresh in house and surprised me and gave me a FRESH new order even though I initially declined. This is likely my third or fourth review of the same location which is a bit unusual for me. I recently heard they were serving Fish N Chips, and as I am forever on the hunt for the best fare of this persuasion I just had to try the newest offering at Cong N Go. I actually was not that hungry but after discussion of the dish with the owners I just had to sample it right then. I ordered it to go but not even kidding I almost ate all three pieces it was that good. Oh my goodness, hands down some of the very best Fish N Chips I ever ate. Nice plateful with three good size pieces. The batter is flavorful with just the right amount of crunch. The vinegrette sauce with aioli mayo and a mix of spices makes the fishes flavors blend very nicely. Cambodian crunchy slaw is a very tasty pairing. Maybe just a tad on the salty side but otherwise perfect. A good helping of narrow fries as well. Definitely enough food to be shareable if you are able to or even want to. Amazing Cambodian traditional food. We had the Khmer version of Pho and it was full of flavor and was a generous portion. The mochi donut was taken to go and hours later, it was still good. The Cambodian pho is so good! I wanted something soupy and savory, and this really hits the spot. The broth was super flavorful, noodles are perfectly cooked, and it had solid chunks of meat. Also, I want to mention that the water they provide with a little lime wedge inside is very good and refreshing. Incredible story, amazing food! We were craving banh mi, this place sounded legit, so we drove out to Grocery Outlet. You step inside, and you know you are going to eat WELL. A chicken banh mi needs to be special to rival a pork one, but THIS is place! I don't know what they did to that bird, but every bite was a symphony of flavor. We literally went back the next day for another one. We both had tea drinks, too, which were delicious--no cloying flavoring, just fresh, true flavors. The pandan coconut cake...I died. WHOA. We walked over to this area while my car was being worked on... initially just anting tea but the menu looked so good. Husband got the beef sandwich (Banh Mi) and loved it! I visited Congo Go in Seaside, CA on Saturday, 1/4/25, around 6 PM. For the entire meal, I decided to get the Crab Puffs, Cambodian Kathiew (Phó) and Strawberry Kiwi Oolong Tea. Everything was tasty from start to finish. My absolute favorite was the refreshingly, wonderful tea. I almost ordered another one in this visit, that was how extremely good it was. Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I'm going to go back and try the food a second time. Why? Because I love the back story about the sisters. I love that they use quality ingredients. I love that they are a small, women-owned business daring to introduce us to Cambodian cuisine. When I walked in, I was greeted cheerfully and told to feel free to ask questions. The young woman was such a sweetie! I'm a Berkeley girl. I've been to Cambodian restaurants in the SF Bay Area, and understand the differences distinguishing South East Asian cuisines. I think that the flavors of the two dishes I tried were very authentically Cambodian. I loved the seasoning of the Red Curry Soup that contained shredded white meat chicken, thick carrot coins, chopped onion, and boiling potato chunks. It looked gorgeous! A one cup serving that comes with a scoop of Jasmine rice cost about $8. What a screamin' deal! It was delicious which made the chicken really stand out as drier-than-dust. I also ordered the Dry-fried Cambodian Noodles. In the 15 minutes that it took to get home, the noodles were totally clumped together. You'll see in the accompanying photo (if I can figure out how to attach it!) that it was a solid mass of noodle. There were 4 to 6 thin slices of chewy, lean beef, and 3 very large shrimps. The bean sprouts looked and crunched as if fresh, but they smelled of ammonia. The restaurant itself has a cute neighborhood diner feel. As the daughter of a health inspector, I always check out the back door of a restaurant leading to the dumpster. If the back door is clean, it's a good bet the place is run carefully and thoughtfully. It's scrupulously clean. I'm definitely going to come back and see if my experience was just on an off day. read more

I think the biggest issue with this spot is that they are not able to show off how much of a culinary experience this place really is. Unless you get the privilege to talk to the owners, you wouldn't know that all of their sauces are house made from scratch, all of their broths are fresh made in the kitchen, all of their drinks are made from raw ingredients and never from powder, and that their owner is trained and comes from in fine dining from the most prestigious restaurants in the Carmel region. There is so much about this restaurant that is left to be discovered, but even if you did not know any of that, all you have to do is order and try it. Their food is delicious and well portioned. Every customer I have seen enter loves it there. If you are not familiar with Cambodian food, their flavors are not exactly like the typical Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese foods, and that is because they are an entirely different culture with different culturally-significant herbs and spices. But if you can appreciate good food of any kind, you will be impressed eating here. We also ordered the Vietnamese coffee and Brown sugar milk tea with boba. The vVietnamese coffee tastes EXACTLY like how we had it in Vietnam. The coffee is rich and has a liqueur like consistency. The brown sugar milk tea is also the BEST we have tried by far. The flavor is so smooth and you can taste the natural, brown sugar's granules, giving it a pleasant texture with the drink. Ambiance is casual and very welcoming. The sausage is tender and so flavorful with all the herbs and spices they use. also has this char flavor from being grilled. So Seriously so good. And for an upcharge subbed in Lao Sausage for the meat. This was hands down the best Banh Mi in the 831. Bread is made fresh in house and it is so crispy on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside. Great for a banh Mi. the Lao Sausage was great as usual and they even make their own Late with chicken. The balance of the amount of Pate along with the mayonnaise on the bread, the sausage and all the fresh veggies. Man it was amazing. And super big as well. Well worth the price tag. Lastly had to give the Dubai chocolate another try. The last time I got it there were a few things that needed a helping hand to make the bart great and they def listened and put those changes in the new version. Chocolate was super snappy. The Kataifi was crispy becusee it was all coated in white chocolate. The pistachio cream was good as well. It was a perfect harmony of sweetness, bitterness crunch and richness. Do recommend. Fun spot with someone in a boba suit dancing outside! Love the unique presentation of drinks, they put them in soda can type bottles with the lid and everything. Stopped by for a quick snack and enjoyed the popcorn chicken! I wouldn't really say it's popcorn chicken like the Taiwanese style with seasoning and basil, it's more like mini chicken nuggets. Service was reasonably fast given how many people there were, and everyone was super kind and helpful. No frills ambiance, spacious and good amount of seating. This is a nice spot to study, and I appreciated the unique packaging--it comes in a can with a pop-off top, which was a creative touch. I ordered the "Original Thai Tea," but unfortunately, it did not taste like Thai tea at all. The drink was brown in color and made with condensed milk, which is not typical of an authentic Thai tea preparation. To me, it tasted more like Vietnamese coffee. When I mentioned this, the staff member responded curtly, insisting it was Thai tea rather than offering an alternative. Zero stars if I could. We ordered very expensive donuts and when we realized they were undercooked, we brought them back. Instead of remaking them or properly handling the issue, an employee took the donuts to the back, ate and tried them, and then returned what was left to us. This was extremely unclean, unprofessional, and unacceptable food handling. Not to mention the restaurant was dirty. The lychee jelly was mushy and didn't taste like lychee. Good thing they only gave a small spoonful of toppings. Price for the large is $8 plus $0.50/ topping. Not worth it in my opinion. The fried tofu was ok. Not much flavor. We got home and added sauce and it was better. She did ask us if we needed sauce so maybe we should have gotten sauce there. This restaurant is new, and nestled in the shopping center on Broadway, right next to the Chase Bank (which is closed). I was able to easily park and went in for lunch. Walking in, I was welcomed in and went to the counter to order my food. There were plenty of open chairs and it looks like it's good for groups. The egg rolls were excellent, like they just came out of the fryer, and the chili sauce was alright, a bit sweet for my liking. The chicken satay had a nice char on it and was lightly seasoned.
