This is a restaurant in a cruise ship, it is not in the port. Don't waste your time trying to find it like we did.

I've tried many of the other restaurants in the area and for some reason had missed this one because I don't live close by. This past weekend I gave it a try and thought it was terrific. There is a free parking lot attached on the side of the building so parking is very easy and inside is pretty large with booth seating as well as regular table seating. They also have outdoor seating as well, but it was a bit windy on the day we stopped in. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They also had a very large amount of limited time specials so I had to take them up on one of those options. We started off with the coffee cake and I thought it was pretty good although it was gigantic. I'm a bit more of a fan of the gooier coffee cake and this was a bit cake ear but still it was enjoyable. I also tried the spicy turkey chili and thought that was a 10 out of 10. I absolutely loved the amount of spice and it had some really great flavors. For my breakfast, I chose one of the specials, which was the Carne Asada Chilaquiles and thought it was terrific. It was a ton of meat and it was honestly more than I could finish, but I really enjoyed trying to. I would definitely recommend and would stop again next time I'm in the area.

Their service was great - super friendly and they even brought fans to keep flies away from our table. There was just one fly but they immediately came and let us use the fan which gave us a great impression. Food was generous and one dish was more than enough for two, but me and my husband each ordered a plate along with a bowl of clam chowder, onion rings and pancake w/fries for the kids to share so we had a ton to take home too haha The food didn't surprise me as much; The clam chowder wasn't what I expected but their fries and onion rings were good! All in all we had a great experience and would love to come back again! I also loved the interior!

I really hate to throw any shade on an independently own businesses. But, for your first-timers out there or you people thinking about going to the establishment, I think there's probably a couple of things that you should think about before you come to this café. First of all, let me speak about the high points. The staff here are all super nice. They do their job jobs very well, and they're very friendly. In terms of their food, it seems very well prepared, and it's always really tasty. They have a very nice cross-section of Americana, Cali/Mex, and other items that really make the selection of what you decide to eat truly an adventure. Plus, they have a really nice selection of drinks, including all of the expected: soft drinks, coffees, lattes, and all of that kind of stuff. They also have a few fairly unique drinks. All good! In terms of atmosphere, they have two main interior dining spaces. Both are very well presented, and the tables are nicely spaced apart so you never feel too close to the other customers in the restaurant, even when it's crowded. They also have a couple of outdoor tables, if that's your preference. If you want to sit out and enjoy the atmosphere. Again, all good! There's a few things that are a little bit funky about this restaurant, however, which always send me to wondering. The first is, they do not have their Health Department Grade displayed on their front window as is required. Generally, I've always found the only time restaurants don't show their grade is when they've received a lower than A marking. So, I don't know what Health Department Grading this restaurant has as it is not displayed. Simple as that. It makes me wonder. The other thing is, if you go to the restroom, you walk past their kitchen and their food preparations areas. You can't help but see the space. I don't know? It just seems a little bit funky back there. Then, when you go into the restroom, if I can be kind, it really needs a renovation. There's caulking and filler used all along the lower walls. Why? That's only known by the people who run this establishment. But, it's just a little bit funky back there. They have these upper shelves, covered with small draperies. Plus, there's an area where they keep their supplies, that it's just not a nice thing to look at when you're eating in a café. My feeling is this stuff should all be separated from the dining establishment so the customers don't have to look at it when they use the restroom. It's just not a good look. Overall, all this being said, this is an unique café, that offers some interesting dishes. I'm just telling you the facts. Make of it what you will.

The vibes are vibing. I loved listening to one of the guys in the kitchen sing. 5 stars for service My server had amazing energy and was very accommodating to every type of customer who came in, including those who were a little rough around the edges. She let me stay past closing so I could finish my iced tea and do some more work on my laptop. 5 stars for food It was a perfect Denver omelette, well cooked with plenty of cheese and peppers and Ham and onions nicely diced. The breakfast potatoes were thinly sliced and nice and crispy, which surprisingly is hard to find in a diner. The iced tea was strong and plentiful. I realize that diner fare is not typically considered five-star cuisine, but for what they do, they did excellently. A perfect lunch experience. No notes. It's very small inside, but there's a patio in the back. Parking is free but limited.

What a fantastic experience tonight!!!…read more We came on a pretty busy Saturday night with a last minute reservation. We were sat in front of the raw bar. What a treat!!! The raw bar seats might be best in the house. The raw bar seats are the ambiance you want here, right in the middle of the action. (Notably, not your choice for a business meal) Chef's touch. Its an odd thing to say, but the croquettas with the wagyu flat iron steak were straight from Cuba. Serious food, amazing eats. Best Ive had since Musni. Steak was cooked well, smoke flavor greatly appreciated! Id like a little more crust and a touch of salt, but thats my own slight preference which I can communicate at my next order... honestly 10/10 on steak. Peruvian sea scallops and oysters were perfect. Enough said. Just get the scallops and oysters. Order too much, its worth it. Service: Front of house beat back of house tonight. We were not rushed. We could take our time ordering courses and the pacing was customized. Our server asked and seemed to care. Big tip for front of house tonight. Hopefully we have a staple restaurant. The atmosphere is a big part of the appeal. It feels like an ode to the San Pedro harbor and the area's history, with cool artifacts and details throughout. They also often have live acoustic music, which I really enjoy. One small downside: it can get loud when busy, so with a larger group it's sometimes hard to talk across the table. Last night they absolutely nailed the food, as usual and the restaurant was not too loud. We started with Harpo's Garlic Bread, the Squash Blossoms, and the Local Calamari "New Style," all excellent starters. For mains, the Tomahawk Pork Chop was juicy and well prepared, the Sausage Cavatelli was hearty and flavorful, the Chicken Parmesan was crispy, cheesy and satisfying, and the Swordfish Milanese was a really nice preparation. The Hand Cut Fries, Baby Romaine Salad, and BLT Salad rounded everything out nicely. One tip: if you know you want wine, consider bringing a good bottle. Corkage is $25 per bottle, which can make a lot of sense. Our server, Noe D., did a very nice job. I was especially impressed with our table assistant, Kevin A., friendly, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable to interact with. I also had the chance to meet Edgar on the management side, who was new to me. Thanks to the Dockside team for another great night. Great food, real San Pedro character, live music, and people who make you feel welcome.
