We stopped by Niko's Pizzeria in San Pedro for lunch on a Saturday and had a great experience. Our group actually had a hard time deciding what to order because the menu is huge, with both Italian and Greek options. Besides pizza and pasta, there's also a really nice variety of sandwiches and salads. I ordered the baked meatballs with Greek oven-roasted potatoes, which were flavorful and comforting. My husband had the chicken parmigiana, and his mom ordered the chicken stir-fried Alfredo. Everything came out hot and delicious. The house salad was exceptional--super fresh with mushrooms and olives and a really nice balance of flavors. Even though it was fairly busy when we visited, the service was quick and friendly, which made the experience even better. If you're anywhere near San Pedro and craving casual Italian or Greek comfort food, I'd definitely recommend giving Niko's Pizzeria a try. read more

Servers are very good. Vigilant and attentive. The ambience is homey. A good local place, where police can service folks for the city, and your regular Joe like to come and partake in the ambience and the food. A lot of families come and bring their children often allowing them to cry incessantly without comforting them, but it must be a local area thing. Here is why they get the low Marques I ordered the vegetable lasagna. I wasn't feeling the protein today the vegetable lasagna consisted of pasta, cheese sauce broccoli, that's right broccoli carrots, and I've had any other vegetable. I could not decipher it and or taste it put broccoli in lasagna is offensive. It is crunchy big and nasty. One would think you would use artichoke, squash, possibly, so many other Italian alternatives then broccoli and carrots. I'm not lying to you. We came here because this was within the walking distance of our hotel and the pictures of the food on Yelp looked good. They also were open late. The pictures did not lie. The pizza was awesome and the crust was excellent. Melanie T ordered the kids spaghetti and it was huge on size and taste. Everyone here was friendly, and we even ordered ahead of time without giving them a credit card number on the phone, and they still made our food ahead of time. I came here with B for dinner. Holy moly, talk about tell me you are dining in the US without telling me you are dining in the US. Yup portion size was huge. I could have shared a meal with B instead. I got the Chicken Porto Fino with Clam chowder and B got the Whole Deno sandwich with pasta. Just the clam chowder by itself really filled me up. The food was average. Not anything special. But it was really the portion size that surprised us. The homemade garlic bread was good and again nothing too special again. We were super full but because we were going on a cruise ship next day, we couldn't take the left over with us. Prices are reasonable. Note that if you pay by card there is a surcharge on top. The restaurant is close to the port and is known to the locals. decor was nothing too special. It is just an ordinary diner. Service could be better and it was somewhat lacking. I have been going to this place for years. And it is a local favorite amongst folks who live in San Pedro. It is a standard pizzeria with a wide array of bar food. In general, this place is where one goes for familiar Italian pub food a la American skillet. Thus, I immediately offer the greatest piece of advice, go here for what is safe to enjoy, do not go and try the more ambitious dishes, like linguini and clams or their pollo piccata because then you might be disappointed. Case in point, when I go here, I typically get their burger and their steak fries. A burger is easy to make right, and easy to enjoy. One must really work hard to louse a hamburger, and one must really be discerning to find concrete flaw in a hamburger. I typically pack some of the fries into my hamburger to enhance it flavor and texture and general yum factor. I share all this to underscore that this place is not a red sauce joint, with checked table cloths, and a nonna in the kitchen stirring the broth while she sings Arias. Thus, when they try items that are more than hamburgers, and pizza, and salad, they do not meet the mark because that kind of cooking is not in the bones of this place. To respectfully, conclude this conclusion, I draw the parallel: one goes to a fish shack for their fried fish tacos not their lobster pot pie. The place is ample, it can hold a larger crowd. The service is attentive and responsive, and in general are all nice and competent peoope. There is a firge with a lot of different desserts like varied forms of cheesecake, lemons bars, cakes, and brownies. Their menu is extensive (but I gave the point of navigation above). Their appetizers almond demand to be sampled. It is a simple place, that will treat one right, and feed them well. Go here and be happy. read more

This spot was pretty good. It was a convenient walk from my hotel in San Pedro. I got the Tyler's Meatball Sandwich was really good. The meatballs were flavorful. The sauce was yummy. The bread did get a little soggy over time. Their menu says that sandwiches come with coleslaw, pasta salad, or potato salad. However, when you order online through their website, these sides are not available to order. So that was disappointing. This is a good place for a quick pick up dinner. read more

I wish I could give this restaurant less than a 1 star review. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR MONEY. They have extremely poor customer service and are rude. I recently moved into the community from Long Beach and was looking to support a local business. I placed a pickup order for a medium pizza and arrived at the restaurant to pay and pick up my order. After I paid, I waited ANOTHER 15 minutes for the pizza that I had ALREADY called ahead and ordered. When I asked for an update on the food, a man gave me a pizza that was sitting behind the counter the entire time I was waiting. After I had been handed the pizza and was walking out, I was stopped by another employee who claimed I had not yet paid for my food even though I had already paid and signed the receipt. It felt like racial profiling, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I checked my bank account and verified the payment did in fact go through. At this point, I wanted a refund due to the poor service, long wait, AND a false accusation. When I asked for a refund they said they COULD NOT give me a refund and that I would have to come back the next day. I am extremely disappointed with one of my first experiences at a restaurant in this neighborhood. I will not be returning and advise people to spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!!!! read more

This casual, family-friendly spot is a great choice for a nice lunch if you're in the area. I've dined in and gotten take out before. Their menu has a wide variety of Italian cuisine selections. The bbq chicken pizza is definitely one of my favorites. I've also tried the blackened salmon salad and it was so delicious! They have a house ranch dressing that's loaded with yummy garlic flavor. First time trying this restaurant with friends and what a delightful surprise. The food was excellent. Such a variety of Italian and Greek food. Very interesting as both were great. My husband had the Moussaka, a blend of eggplant and spiced beef which reminded him of Greece. Plus their Greek salad is very authentic. Our friends had the Greek pizza filled with so many toppings. Our server was Rose and she was wonderful. Very friendly and attentive and it was a busy night for her. Their corkage is only $15 which is very reasonable. This place is awesome. The food was great. My only complaint was that it was so crowed but luckily, I sat at the bar and I didn't have to wait that long. The best time to come is after 6pm because after that, there's no need to pay for parking. Also, it's possible to park for free at the Chamber of Commerce next door and in the parking lot across the street. read more

The fact that most restaurants in San Pedro close by 8:30 or 9 pm automatically results in Niko's attracting all those customers like me who prefer late dinners. This place wouldn't be my first choice if other places were open. The place was buzzing when we entered around 9pm and we managed to grab a tiny corner table. They have a super-long menu with a lot of typical bar food like pizza and wings, an Italian menu, and also a greek menu. Most everybody will find something they like on that long menu, but it also indicated to me that the place doesn't really specialize in any specific kind of food. We decided to share a bbq chicken pizza and a rich chocolate cake they called chocolate suicide. The pizza was decent though I've definitely had better. The dessert was a mistake. I haven't had chocolate cake this bad in a long time. We didn't finish it or bother packing it to-go. Desserts are also not listed on the menu. The waitress let us know the available options and so you don't know costs till the bill arrives. This meal of one medium pizza, one beer and one slice of chocolate cake cost us more than $50 - I won't be returning; I'll plan better and eat elsewhere next time. read more

Let's start off with the positives. The service was great. Our servers were very attentive and were really hustling. They checked on us often and kept our drinks from going dry. The pizza did not come close to my personal standards. I'm assuming the oven is wood fired because the crust had a very bitter/burnt flavor that immediately over powered the taste and quickly turned me off. *1 Star My fiance had the calzone and added pepperoni and garlic. He really enjoyed it. I tried it and it was pretty good. Lots of flavor and the crust must have been placed on a pan to bake to avoid the burnt flavor I experienced with the pizza. *4 Stars The cheese ravioli was tasty. It didn't seem to be homemade or anything super special. The sauce was pretty good...not too sweet and plenty of it. This came with a salad and garlic bread. The bread was fantastic and the salad was also great...made with romaine, tomato, peppercini, Olives and mozz cheese. The ranch dressing tasted like its made in house. *4 stars. Unfortunately the pizza really drug down the overall score and experience. My mom and my's favorite go to when I'm in town visiting her. We both order the antipasto salads which I crave when it's been a couple weeks of not going. It's huge and enough for leftovers. Everything we've tried is always delicious from the salads, sandwiches, pizzas and Mediterranean choices. The Servers are all AMAZING and sweet!!! We have been coming in for years and they all make us feel so welcome and come by and say hi when we're in. Ordered for pickup for a 4 piece margarita pizza. I called 10 min before I was coming, and the guy on the phone said it would take 15 min. I ended up waiting for another 10 or so minutes until I got my pizza. I wasn't mad about it, because they seemed like they were kinda busy. It was around $16. The only thing that bothered me was it just tasted like it was straight bread. I don't know why but it tasted flavorless, and it felt like I was eating oily bread. Maybe they needed to add more cheese or salt, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm usually not really picky with food or even pizza but this one was not it. Seems like a great atmosphere for family outings, but will not be coming again unfortunately. read more

We've been coming here for years. Food is okay, but today, my mom had a scary experience. Apparently, the restaurant disinfects their water jugs with bleach. The jug that was used to refill mom's cup, had bleach in it. She took a big sip out of her cup before realizing it had bleach. Be cautious with your drinks. The manager didn't come out to check up on mom until she approached him outside. I know it's a mistake, but a mistake like that could cause someone's life.
