Broccoli cheddar which tasted bad
Terri M.

Called in an order for 1/2 wrap/soup combo and a turkey pesto wrap. I was told they couldn't do 1/2 a wrap but could make 1/2 Ceasar chicken sandwich instead. Order would be ready in 15 mins. When my husband arrived 20 mins later not only was the order not ready but there was confusion on my order as well. Not sure why when it was pretty straight forward. The turkey pesto tasted nothing like pesto, just lots of Mayo. The 1/2 chicken ceasar I got turned out to be a very messy turkey w/provolone. 1/2 of the inside was hanging out of the sandwich that I literally had to put it together myself. The bread didn't taste fresh contrary to what is stated. Had to throw away the broccoli cheddar soup which tasted bad. Not to mention the small size was $3.99! Don't recommend it at all. Overall a very disappointing experience. From the service to the order, right down to the food. They also charge extra if you use your debit card which is ridiculous.

Bread is super dry, avocado was brown, paid for jalapeños & there was 2 on one side.. would not go back. We got 5 different sandwiches & everyone was disappointed.

A pathetic Italian Stallion sandwich
Lodi G.

Delivered without green pepper (the note on my receipt says "no green pepper" but I didn't ask to remove the green pepper. Barely any mayonnaise and no Italian dressing which would have helped the dry bread. Portion size of meat & lettuce was sad. If you can't afford to add a decent amount of ingredients then maybe a deli business isn't for you. I'm so sick of paying for food prepared by people who just don't really care.

Pick up area

We ordered the hot Nates Ruben (rate 9.5/10) one of the best I've had. Very soft bread, lots of meat, sour kraut was still a bit crunchy and not over powering, loved it. My wife had Italian Stallion (rate 9.5/10) bread was soft good amount of salami, good amount of ham and likes the peppers and olives, good ratios of everything she said. We also split the cesars wrap( 6.5/10) it wasn't bad but was a bit dry, too much tortilla and was a bit hard, not too much filling, good croutons and chicken in it though. We split had the big brownie,(rate 10/10)was big, thick, fudgey, and had big chocolate chips in it. Sandwiches are worth and reasonably priced, glad they have a great sandwich spot in Galt! Over all 4/5 stars

Menu

I've called every time I order, and it's super fast and easy. People complain about their ordering system but I've personally never had an issue. They are welcoming every time I come in. I feel like the price is very reasonable for the amount of meat you get into the sandwich. I also think the sandwich is so good. I wish they had sliced pepperchinis but I can live without them lol. I typically do a build my own sandwich . My husband likes the choppin French dip, my sister in law likes the choppin club.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had! Ingredients are fresh, portions generous and the service was prompt and courteous.

Impression: First time visiting this place. I have always…read moreheard great things about it. I have been to quite a few places in Oakdale but always just rolled by this spot. The inside is old school food place with photos of nostalgia of the country. Flow: You can call in and pick up for fast service or drop in and wait to be seated. It could be a long wait or it could be fast depending on the line. The service is fast though. They don't dilly dally and waste your time. If you are going to dine in you need to go to the counter and put your name in. Food: Leo Camarillo- You can order with pastrami, roast beef or both. (Not half and half) Lots of cheese and sautéed mushrooms. If you're not a mushroom fan just skip. This is so delicious I have been thinking about it ever since we got it. My wife doesn't like mushrooms and she still ate with the shrooms on. We ordered pastrami only. No ragrats! French Dip- My kids ate both halves and didn't even hook it up with a bite! It was juicy and the dip was perfect. Always add the cheese. The Italian- Loved the Italian. It had a lot of meats on it and the veggies were fresh. Topped with an Italian dressing. Salads- Pesto salad was my favorite. Excellent flavor. No heartburn. Spaghetti salad was the sleeper. Very unsuspecting. I thought it was going to be cold spaghetti sauce but it was tomato's and Italian dressing/seasoning. Potato salad was ok. We added pepper and salt. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people and came home with an untouched half because there was so much food. Bill was less than $60 for all the food and the soft drinks. Will definitely be a frequent haunt now.

Beast of a sandwich. This order had both pastrami and roast beef. I added the au jus. Very tasty…read more Arrived at 1:00 pm so we did not need to wait. Tasty. Highly recommend. #spicemeister approved.

I usually make it a meal for a few dollars more that includes a side and drink. My favorite side are the fries are they are hot crispy and tender on the inside. I order from here when we have breakfast events for work as they are one of the few breakfast places that open before 7 am. It's a small shop and parking can be a little scarce but there are dedicated spots for the restaurant as it shares the same lot with a Starbucks. I came in here while waiting for my car to be serviced. I was able to see the sheer amount of loyal customers coming through their door for an hour. I grabbed the breakfast tacos. Tortillas were warm and coated with cheese. The potatoes and thick cut chewy bacon pieces all over. Just add the scrambled eggs and cheese to marry everything together. To top it all off, they had house made salsa which added a nice heat.

Finally decided to visit this Stockton staple and boy am I glad I did. Let's dive in…read more.. Ambiance - This is a corner market with Italian items and the big draw is their sandwich counter. You walk in, fill out a form with what type of sandwich you want, hand it to a person when you're called, and then wait for your name to be called. Service - The staff were friendly, so no complaints here. Food - The food is great! I ordered a combo sandwich with turkey, hot salami, and jalapeño/cayenne cheddar and all the fixins and it was delicious! The Dutch crunch roll was tasty and it was a hearty sandwich! Everything tasted great. Overall, I can see why this is a Stockton staple. For $11 you get a damn good sandwich that's very filling. I would definitely return.

They really brought a fresh taste to Stockton and it sure needs a little Italian culture there lol. I have been to both New York and Italy so I have a lot to compare to and I really loved this place. Lots of fresh meat and the sandwiches are so good, the cannoli is also fresh and really good as well. Definitely going to go back again. Service was a little slow but in fairness they did have a long line, ambiance was very old Italian deli vibe. I wouldn't say Italy but I would say it's more leaving towards Brooklyn vibes.

The online ordering system was not working - it balked at payment - so I phoned them and ordered that way. On the day, we got a pile of plastic bags each labeled with our name, and inside mine I found my hot sandwich, still pretty warm, inside a foil wrapper. Mine was the Italian melt, lots of different kinds of meat plus provolone and a little onion and pepperocini and a mildly spicy marinara sauce lightly dabbed in. It was not too thick but nicely dense, as well as delicious, with a well chosen mix of ingredients. I didn't want too much bread, so I ordered it on marble rye, and that turned out to be fairly thin, not overwhelming, and also strongly and delightfully flavored. I'm not ordinarily big on deli sandwiches - I don't think they have much else - but this was a major find.

There is a bathroom that you must ask for a key to. Once 1:30 rolled around, I was excited to try my sandwich given the great reviews, then came 1:40, then 1:50, and I did not have my sandwich until around 1:55. I worked in a sandwich shop for 3 years, so I know sometimes a wait is unavoidable and can recall dealing with rude customers, so I did not approach the staff regarding the wait. They were trying their best to accommodate the orders. However-- 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches, I think, is a little excessive. In the end, my sandwiches were spectacular, genuinely well crafted, and met (maybe even surpassed) my expectations. When I got back to my car, I noticed the worker (owner?) gave me a full sandwich despite me ordering half. I wasn't sure if this was purposeful as means of saying "our bad", or just a mistake, but I will say it left me in better spirits. If you have some extra time to kill, with friends etc., this is a must try. However, if you are on ANY sort of time restriction, I would not recommend stopping here. I'm sure this is not always the case, but as a stop on a long drive, I did not consider an extra 45 minutes for a sandwich. If the owners are reading this, I truly mean well and hope you know a long wait is a sign of success. Growth is inevitable!
