The food is great! Prices are reasonable. My only complaint is when ordering from their lunch special menu. They give you very little Vegetables and protein, the majority of the container filled with rice. I would say 3/4 of the container is fried rice, Little disappointing . read more

Food is always great. The only place I go if I don't want to drive to China town. Two things: if you're ordering online- the pricing is off, you will be charged more when you pick up at the store. That's the only option, to order online and pay at the location. They need to update their online pricing. Also- if you can, check your order before you leave, I ordered vegetable chow Mein and they gave me some other vegetable dish without any noodles it was some type of vegetable soup. We will never order from here again. We ordered combinatio egg foo yong combination fried rice and a shrimp egg for young shrimp fried rice special. All of the egg for Youngs were burned. They always forget something in my order and that's why I am choosing to give them a star. I ordered fried rice (peas and carrots added), 2 meat giant egg rolls that the lady FORGOT, and 2 smoothies with tapioca. 15 min for fried rice plus another less than 10 min for them to make smoothies. Idk if they do this purposely but ask them to repeat your order bcuz she tried charging me for the egg rolls I ordered after I payed. Ordered General Tao's Lunch special. Unlike some Chinese food places, there was ample meat with a small amount of breading. I have had this dish from some places where the breading around the hard to find tiny pc of meat was the case. Good spice, but not overwhelming. Free egg rolls came with the meal - they were also very good. Pick up only. Place is what I would call a "hole in the wall", but sometimes they know what they are doing in that hole. I had not been to this place in a long while. I had a bad experience once about two years ago that I won't even get into. (It wasn't regarding bad food but something else) Anyway this past Friday I was craving CSC since I had not had it in a while. The food has always been on point flavor wise but this Friday when I got my egg fu young it was ma badly burned. The gravy as well as the patty were a dark brown and definitely had a burned taste. Ready for pick up in a timely manner, and with effective social distancing measures, our food was great! We had General Tso tofu, which had a decent consistency and good sauce. We also had shrimp fried rice, which had a fulfilling taste. Our "appetizers" were all good quality as well. Phoned to order on a Sunday night. They were quick and friendly. I had no problems with my order. I got the Large general tso for $8.95 and large cashew chicken for $9.20. It came with a large portion of rice. General tso is my favorite and i always get it. I was a bit disappointed with this one when I saw it because it was like eating just the chicken part of the general tso. There was almost no sauce. It was basically getting breaded chicken with a little bit of pepper and onions. The whole thing could be described as soggy but dry. The chicken was dry and the breading was soggy. The cashew chicken was okay. It's not the best. It has everything that a cashew chicken should have like baby corn, cashew, chicken, carrots, and others. This one was very saucy--almost like thick soup. There wasn't much flavor to it. I would give this place a chance again. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Felt like I needed to give another five star review after tonight's order. Fastest delivery EVER. And the delivery driver is always super nice. Make sure you try the Thai fried rice and anything with BBQ pork. After trying half the menu I've found these are my favorites. Also, vegetarians, this is your spot. Super fresh, crispy veggies. First time trying this place today. They closed at 9.30pm and when we called them at 9.16pm they were happily taking outlr order. We ordered an egg roll, crab rangoon, Mongolian beef, and Chop suey chicken. Everything was so hot when we picked it up. The only dish we don't like that much is Mongolian beef. I got egg drop soup, veggie spring rolls and and veggie fried rice. The soup was bland. The spring rolls were good. The rice was good and they gave me a TON of it. This is really a take out spot. They have room to sit down but they'd rather you get it and go. WHY ARE YOU SO CONSERVATIVE WITH THE SAUCES??? I get 5 pounds of rice and 2 packets of sauce? Then you get funny when you ask for more? This is our new go to Chinese place! Food was amazing and is literally half the price of other places I've tried. Since we are so close to Chinatown, there are way too many choices. Mind you, I live in the west suburbs so the drive is a good 35 minutes. By the time I made it home, my food was still hot! This made me like the place even more. The food was really good, and might I add, they are not stingy with the portions. I do have one suggestion. It was really cold while waiting in your sitting area. When my go-to Chinese restaurant closed I searched in vain for a good take out place near McKinley Park until I found Chop Suey City and have been going semi-religiously since! The service is wonderful -Gina treats you like a friend- and the staff is very attentive. The inside has a generous amount of seating and a television that is never too loud. Oh, and did I mention the food?! I loved when Gina told me she was trying to bring the quality found in Chinatown to the neighborhood by offering new items to an already large menu like my personal favorite, walnut shrimp! It easily compares with Lao Sze Chuan's. Their orange chicken and crab rangoon are delicious staples if you aren't up to trying something new, too! We got the orange chicken, crab rangoon, jumbo eggroll, shrimp fried rice, and combination lo mein. All of it was absolutely phenomenal. I must have gotten it on a bad day last time, 'cause this tasted like a completely different restaurant. Would recommend 100%. Meh. Ordered chicken pad thai and crab rangoon and they were just so-so. Recently I ordered some food from here I went to pick it up and when I got there I mention that I couldn't order an extra white rice online so if I can order with them how ever I didn't have extra change and asked if I can use my debit card.
