Second time at Chook on Pearl and it continues to be a solid spot. They seem to do a huge to-go business, so both times it's been much quieter inside than I expected. This visit we came around 7:00, about an hour before close, and while the service wasn't quite as warm as my first visit, the food still delivered. I had the quarter chicken with mashed potatoes, charred mixed veggies, and a salad. Everything was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I wanted after a workout without leaving me feeling too full. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way for, but definitely a place I'd happily return to if I'm nearby.

I lived in Bathurst, Australia for a stint and I can't tell you how excited I was to see that Chook offered Lamington cake! And it was delicious. It's a lot like ordering at Noodles & Co, you order at the counter and they bring it out to you, you bus your own table. The people are friendly, the food is really good. I got the Chook for one and added a side. The chicken is so well seasoned and cooked, mouth watering and the smashed cucumber salad was perfect. I added on the potato wedges, good and well seasoned but not crisp like the ones in Oz. There isn't a whole lot of seating but it's bright and welcoming. I'm totally going back!

Wow!! Urban eclectic vibes meet seriously good chicken. The space has an eye-catching, Urban Eclectic with Industrial Modern feel. There's a little play desk for kids. I shared the Chook for Two with a whole chicken and went with Big A's BBQ for sauce -- absolutely nailed the smoky-sweet balance with a nice vinegar hit. The mac and cheese was with shells, which somehow tastes better. The seasonal veggies were fresh with huge flavor flavor. Might be my favorite side. Terrific!!

This was our first time trying Chook Chicken. The staff was very kind, and the place was very clean, which made for a great first impression. We ordered the Chook Family Meal. The chicken was juicy and tender--really well cooked. However, the sauces were a bit underwhelming; even the hot sauce lacked heat. On the bright side, the mac and cheese was excellent--rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I also really liked the kids' play station--it kept our kids busy and made the meal more enjoyable for everyone.

I am pleasantly pleased on how good this place was! It has many options to choose from, including a standard quarter chicken, salads, wraps and sandwiches. Pricing is reasonable too. The chicken was very well seasoned but I thought the star of the show was the Charred Veggies! It has a lemony sauce that is covered in plus some cashew which I thought gave it the extra "fatty" and nuttiness it needed for a more balanced palate. We also tried the Chicken sliders which was okay, I thought getting just the quarter chicken was better. The sides were delicious. Mac and Cheese was good, nothing special but their potatoes wedges (with the Piri Piri sauce) were fantastic! It was crispy on the outside and soft inside. One of the best wedges I have had in Colorado. Service was excellent, you can order online for pick up or head inside for a dine-in experience. There is plenty of table and a cute little kids play area for the young ones. It is considered a self-serve style, so you basically order at the counter and sit wherever.

I had been to Chook years ago when there was still a location at Stanley Marketplace. I remember not being impressed. I decided to give it a try again when I was in this area and found another Chook. I'm glad I did! I really liked the interior of this one and the general vibe. The manager was talking with her employee as she was working on her computer and she just seemed very kind and the overall environment was welcoming. I ordered a quarter chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and boy, was it a lot of food for me! The chicken was flavored well and so moist. And the mashed potatoes were delicious. The gravy and sauce that came with it was a great addition as well. I ended up taking a to go box for the mashed potatoes as it was a large portion. This is a reminder to not always believe your first impression!

Chook serves charcoal rotisserie chicken - imagine an elevated Boston market. I've been in Denver now for about 5 years and I only recently tried them. I feel like they are so underrated because the meal we had was delicious had was delicious! They offer a meal for two costing a little over $30, which is great in today's economy. It came with half a rotisserie chicken, two large sides, and a salad. Plenty of food for hungry eaters. There are a lot of vegetable-based sides, as well as potato wedges, mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy. I like that you can choose to go healthy or indulge a little My favorite side is the cucumber salad with feta and I LOVE the green goddess salad. Chicken, mac & cheese, salad, potatoes - everything is well seasoned! Perfect bite every time. This is a great spot to come with your family, kids, order healthy takeout, or catch up with a friend. Elevated comfort food at its finest! It's spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Beer, wine, and cocktails are served.

Meal for two with roasted veggies and potato wedges with green goddess side.

Came here right before leaving Denver for a rugby tournament. Excellent find, and so glad I got it in before I left. Got the meal for two and shared with my mom. You could almost share it between three people. The portions were generous and everything was very tasty. Lots of mix and match options for sides, we got the potatoes and roasted veggies with the green goddess salad. The restaurant itself is order and the counter and seat yourself for casual dinning but the atmosphere is cute cozy with an open kitchen. Friendly staff who were nice enough to throw some extra sauces in for us to try at no extra cost since it was our first time in. 10/10 would recommend!

This location on E 8th Ave is one of three Chook's in Denver. They other two are on S Pearl St and inside Stanley Marketplace. Lots of street parking nearby. They serve Australian style charcoaled chicken with sides and salads. A good range of soft drinks + beer & Altimo wines. They also have 4 different premixed cocktails called Happy Pots. I got the 1/4 chicken (2 thighs and a drumstick) that comes with 1 side. I got the Smashed cucumbers with feta cheese, avocado, cashews and red onion. Nice and light. I added a 2nd side of mashed potatoes with gravy. I also got a small size of the Winter Beets & Berries salad. Crunchy lettuce, blueberries, red & yellow beets with balsamic vinaigrette. My drink was an unsweetened Arnold Palmer. They have free WiFi. They are open daily 11a.-8pm. I saw a large partially covered patio on the east side. You order at the counter. They hand you a table sign and they deliver your food & drinks. I was served by Danzig D, a new employee on his first day. He did good.

I put off trying this Australian inspired spot for months because I kept thinking "it's just rotisserie chicken"-well I'm so glad we got Chook Chicken last night because it was truly delicious! The chicken is juicy, the housemade sauces like smoky macha and piri piri are super flavorful, the sides of fluffy pacific rolls and browned butter squash, even the green goddess salad is one of the best and most unique salads I've ever had. And first time having a lamnington for dessert- if you like coconut this cake is a must!

It really gave me RVA (Richmond, VA circa early 2000s) nostalgia vibes like for places I worked in around Broadway during college! Wow. Love everything about this place. I'd been going to a lot of coffee shops lately where the style is all like new stuff and new style (which I LOVE) but the style of Tessa Delicatessen was so unexpectedly refreshing. I didn't realize that this part of Colfax was Park Hill! I saw a lot of other interesting places nearby. Can't wait to go back and wander! Not sure if it was the owner that greeted me at the register but she was very friendly and warm. I love the self serve coffee and water and you get to pick a unique mug to drink from. Really strong neighborhood vibe and I think she said it had been open since 2017. So cool! I'm obsessed with the spaciousness and space! My breakfast sandwich did explode all over my hand - so be careful! The egg is soft inside! I got coffee, cheesy hash and the breakfast sandwich. $25 for everything including tip. I think that's a great deal for a lovely morning vibe and breakfast in 2026!

We started with their traditional black eyed pea soup because good luck traditions matter. Shortly after, I "found" three dollars in my coat pocket. Was it already my change from the store? Yes. Did I still credit the soup? Also yes. From there, we leaned fully into deli mode. The cheeseburger was solid and satisfying, the Reuben hit all the right notes, and the macaroni salad was exactly what you want it to be. No frills, just done right. Dessert sealed the deal. The cheesecake was rich without being heavy, and the carrot cake was genuinely excellent. Tessa feels like one of those neighborhood spots you can come back to again and again. Comforting, straightforward, and very good at what they do. Fortune and prosperity aside, this place is worth a visit on its own.

The space is decorated so cute with several tables to choose from, there's a cozy couch to enjoy, and even a bar space to sit all. There was one gentleman working while I was in, and he was very kind. I ordered an iced coffee with a side of oak milk; the coffee had a good flavor. For food, I ordered the egg and cheese bowl. This is not your average egg and cheese bowl - it was stacked with specialty cheeses like mozzarella and iberico! Plus, some devious spices. The bowl was served with ciabatta bread, topped with olive oil and herbs. I didn't have a pastry, but they all looked scrumptious and will definitely try one when I come back.

The have mostly smaller tables but a few couches - always an A+ for me. No food, but the pastries look next level. I deviated a bit from my normal latte or drip coffee and splurged on their "golden coffee": a beautiful cup of coffee with Nutella, steamed milk, whipped cream, pistachio and sparkles. It was a bit pricey at $12 but I regret absolutely nothing. The only thing keeping me from full marks is that it's not super stroller/baby friendly and these days that's important to me. Seriously though, a fabulous spot and I'm planning on returning for a little me time in the near future. The food looks so good I need to give it a try!

The employees here are so attentive and make sure you are getting what you need and even what you didnt even think you needed. The macaroni salad was so delicious. It's creamy without being heavy, perfectly balanced, and has that nostalgic comfort factor while still tasting elevated. It's the kind of side that could easily steal the show. The roasted red pepper and tomato soup was equally impressive. It's a silky, creamy bisque layered with smoky depth from the roasted peppers, finished with chives that brighten everything up. Even being plant-based, it doesn't sacrifice richness or flavor. Deeply satisfying and clearly well-crafted. The Pastrami Reuben is exceptional. The 12-day house-made pastrami is deeply flavorful, tender, and perfectly seasoned, layered with melty Jarlsberg, tangy pickled cabbage, and their signature Leven sauce on toasted house-made rye. It's rich, balanced, and everything you want in a classic Reuben--just executed better. I even reheated it a day later and it was just as good as when I ordered it. Equally impressive is the Smoked Beet Reuben, which honestly holds its own against the traditional version. The pastrami-spiced smoked beets bring a smoky, savory depth that feels surprisingly indulgent, not like a compromise. Paired with the same Jarlsberg, cabbage, and sauce, it's a creative, satisfying take that proves plant-based options can be just as compelling. Leven manages to take familiar comfort foods and refine them just enough to feel special without losing what makes them comforting in the first place. Definitely a spot worth returning to.

Leven Deli Co. is what would happen if Ron Swanson opened a Jewish deli in downtown Denver and let…read moresouthern blues play over the speakers while he worked. There's no performance here, no hospitality theater, no one asking how the first few bites are treating you. You walk up to the counter, you order, you take a number, you sit down. The food does the talking. And the food has a lot to say. I went on a bright Wednesday morning with a couple of friends and ordered the classic breakfast, swapping bacon for pastrami (a first for me) with an everything biscuit on the side (also a first). Both were revelations. The eggs over-hard might be the best version of that order I've ever gotten from a restaurant -- just a whisper of uncooked yolk in the center, perfectly seared on both sides. Skillet potatoes were spot-on. The skillet pastrami was rich and properly crisped at the edges. And the two generous slices of sourdough arrived with a scratch-made blueberry jam that I ended up smearing on everything I could -- sourdough, biscuit, probably would've eaten it with a spoon if no one was looking. My friend ordered the breakfast sandwich, which clearly belongs in the staples category. The baguette was the star: toasted outside, pillow-soft inside, zero tug-of-war with your teeth. That detail alone tells you the kitchen cares. This is the Ron Swanson part: there's an unapologetic confidence to this place. They know exactly what they're doing, they're not trying to oversell it, and they're not interested in charming you into liking it. They're just going to hand you something excellent and trust you to figure out the rest. The coffee was good. The food was setting-a-benchmark good. A real 5 out of 5 stars, no pickin nits. Mild observation, not a complaint: the service is counter-only, no traditional table service. Would Matthew McConaughey or Reese Witherspoon dropping plates off elevate the experience? Sure. But Ron wouldn't have it any other way, and honestly, neither would I after eating here. If I lived within 45 minutes of downtown Denver, this would be my destination breakfast. As it is, I'm a 12 hour drive away, and if it were only 11, perhaps I'd go tomorrow. The real downside? The food was so good I completely forgot to take a picture.
