Another mediocre eatery in Denver. I use to rally like this place. Last time I went it was dirty in the restaurant. Tables were dirty and we had to clean our on table. Dirt on the floor. This place turns fast food on its head by consistently delivering healthy, tasty, and creative meals. The birds get the rotisserie treatment over a special charcoal grill. They pop out moist, tender, and very flavorful. You can order a whole bird, half, a quarter or wings (plus a limited time tenders special as of July 2026)--alone or as a meal with sides, a salad, and sauces. The sauce options of gravy, chimichurri, piri piri, macha, and barbecue are unexpected. We tried gravy and chimichurri. Both were fresh and delicious. The extensive choice of sides includes mash or wedge potatoes, falafel, slaw, mac & cheese, mixed veg, marinated cucumbers, and street corn (rotating special). I was disappointed that the stuffing and squash dishes were not on the current menu. The cucumbers were delicious as was the creamy mac & cheese. The street corn was a nice surprise. The lemon tahina sauce on the mixed vegetables was good, but they were way undercooked for my taste. Other options are Pacific rolls, a variety of salads, sandwiches, and wraps, chicken noodle soup, cookies, and brownies. This is real quality, freshly-prepared, delicious, creative food. I excluded the croutons and added a side of ceasar dressing as some people suggested in their reviews. I ordered take out and my order was ready for me on the shelf when I arrived. The size was fair for the price and there was a good lettuce to chicken ratio. The crunch of the lettuce and the delicious dressing was all very satisfying. I lived in Bathurst, Australia for a stint and I can't tell you how excited I was to see that Chook offered Lamington cake! And it was delicious. It's a lot like ordering at Noodles & Co, you order at the counter and they bring it out to you, you bus your own table. The people are friendly, the food is really good. I've been here once with my partner and we had Chook for two. Underwhelmed at best. If you want a great rotisserie chicken that'll last 4 meals on the white meat alone get a Costco membership. It's $5 and I chop up the dark meat and freeze it for soups. Freeze the carcass and you get a great homemade chicken soup stock. Otherwise it's great to live across the street for when I'm sick which is all the time as a teacher. I can walk across and grab a couple bows of chicken soup and some mashed taters. I will say they could easily add the soup to the marketplace. I'd buy quarts of it and freeze it. At $7.50 a serving they can do better. read more

I got the 1/4 chicken (2 thighs and a drumstick) that comes with 1 side. I got the Smashed cucumbers with feta cheese, avocado, cashews and red onion. Nice and light. I added a 2nd side of mashed potatoes with gravy. I also got a small size of the Winter Beets & Berries salad. Crunchy lettuce, blueberries, red & yellow beets with balsamic vinaigrette. Chook chicken is pretty good but I'm not a fan of their sauces. I've tried every one of them and really don't like any of them. The chicken is tasty though regardless of having a good dipping sauce.
