Cholula Burrito
Cynthia Z.

Lovely outdoor seating area. Wish I was able to sit in a chair facing the street because I like seeing cars drive by but unfortunately that seat was occupied by a smidgen of bird poop and I am weak. NOTE: I am not depriving this place of five stars because of the bird poop. Starter basket of chips was accompanied by three dipping options which I'd never experienced before and greatly appreciated. Burrito was solid -- if I ever return to this establishment, I probably wouldn't get chicken again because it was a little bland. NOTE: I am not depriving this place of five stars because of the chicken (I recognize that it's my own fault for choosing this meat). Prices were appropriate for the amount of food you were given (unlike Applebee's which left my credit card drenched in sweat).

So good and so affordable- large portion. It's a small family owned restaurant. Definitely a must visit place.

This is an inconspicuous little place on the outskirts of town that is frequented by locals and not fancy at all. The service was attentive and the food freshly prepared. I'd definitely return for a quick, tasty, filling meal.

I was in the area with my husband for lunch. We decided to stop in Cholula's for a bite to eat. We grabbed a seat at one of the many booths. The interior is bright and colorful and if you're into sports they're playing loudly on the tv. Service wasn't friendly at all and definitely not attentive. My husband ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I had the taco salad with grilled chicken. We also ordered sweet plantains. Everything we had was fine but somewhat bland. I've been terribly spoiled by another place in nearby Jamesburg (food and service) and Cholula just doesn't compare.

Very good food. Service and ambiance are amazing. We sat down and had quick service. Price was fair for the amount of food you get. Only one minor issue- the napkins and napkin holders are annoying. Still drooling about the guacamole.

Covid19 practices are in play and obeyed ; they have closed early due to lack of clientele; fortunately they gave a steady stream of take out seams always busy ; I'd recommend anything grilled their sauces are not best I've had but apparently popular. I'll still be back for their grilled items and salsa.

Solid Mexican spot if you are starving and looking for somewhere to sit down and eat near the Englishtown Flea Market area. We came here on a steaming hot day, which turned rainy after the flea market...and what a better way to dry off than with some tacos? I ordered the trio with chicken, steak and pork. I really loved the chicken and pork, but sadly the steak felt very bland. They were definitely authentic and came pipping hot with a roasted scallion for great flavor. Hubby ordered the pork platter (roasted pork chops and pork chunks - also the platter is named something nicer), he was super satisfied! He liked the the plate brought delicious fresh made beans, perfectly seasoned pork and even better mole sauce over his quesadilla. The ambiance of the place is very bland inside, they have outside seating as well, and the server was not attentive. Otherwise, the food was great and I would absolutely return.

Best Mexican Food since we moved here! I'm from Hawaii and have been looking for a "go-to" Mexican restaurant in New Jersey since March. Ordered a Carne Asada chimichanga, Carnitas Burrito & Très Lèches. Everything was AMAZING! No complaints! I absolutely love their rice, it's simple, fluffy and flavorful. They also have soo many options on their menu. PSA the verde salsa is very spicy We were "road tripping" to NYC so we ordered to go items but we will definitely be back.

Shrimp w/ chipotle cream burrito

My Supervisor told me about this little hole in the wall that I had to try. This place is 40 minutes south of me but I figured, I had nothing else going on so I would give it a try. At first glance, I was skeptical. Not the greatest looking place on the outside and rather smallish inside. I decided to get two burritos: The shrimp /w chipotle cream and the burrito macho /w steak. These were no Taco Bell or Chipotle burritos. They were huge. One burrito was enough to feed 3 people (2 people with a large appetite). The shrimp in my burrito were plentiful and large. I was surprised as I expected small shrimp. It was an excellent choice. Next, I tried the steak macho. This burrito is superb! A definite must try. The steak was cooked perfectly. I am looking forward to try more things from their massive menu that contain extraordinary choices.

Food is very average. The tacos only have meat, onion and cilantro filling. No cream, salsa etc.

Even when I ordered on Cinco de Mayo (against my better judgement) when they were slammed with orders and a bit behind on times the employees here are so nice that not one customer was getting mad. They worked their butts off to keep everyone happy and get everyone their orders as fast as they could. The service alone is 5 stars but then you get your meal. Everything is fresh, delicious and prepared well. Highly recommend stopping in. If it's a nice day grab a table outside.

Unfortunately, our family can no longer justify coming here. I know that the restaurant industry can be tough these days with increasing costs, labor shortages, and the lot. I understand it. The problems started a few years ago after the pandemic. Unfortunately, as many places have continued to do, businesses like Rosalita's are now passing along their business expenses to their customers -- namely the 3-4% credit card fees that businesses used to build into their pricing. What was initially a survival goal to stay afloat during the pandemic because every penny mattered is now just our way of life because it's easier. I hate it. Fine... we started bringing cash. Next, the quality of the food started taking a dive. My usual go to burrito was not as flavorful, rushed, and prices increased significantly. Rice was mush and hard to muster texturally. Drink cups are hilariously smaller (to be fair, they were hilariously large before... but we never needed a refill...) But the one thing Rosalita's had that we could always count on was awesome chips and salsa. The chips are still great -- but the first thing we noticed on their even more pricey, revamped menu was... a fee for any additional chips. Seriously guys? Maybe you're losing money on chips, but let's think about this for a second. The average customer gets their food so fast, how many chips are they actually going through? It's a huge draw to your restaurant and now you're punishing every table. If I'm alone, I get 1 basket of chips. If I have a family of four, we get ... wait for it... ONE basket of chips for the table. Especially when you've got kids, the chips are the draw and now the parents get none because the kids pound down the basket before we can even place an order and I absolutely refuse to pay an extra fee that could buy me an entire BAG of chips at the grocery store. It's highway robbery, greed, and unfortunately we just can't justify coming to this restaurant due to all the price increases, and micro-transaction fees on top over just the last few years with this sudden shift of moving away from a family friendly, fun vibe, with great service and great food. I'm really sad about it guys. Truly. But there are other restaurants very close by that aren't punishing their customers and I'd rather spend my hard earned dollars there instead I'm afraid.

The place is just as colorful and decorative inside as it is on the outside. They have different specials everyday and during the weekend they offer brunch specials along with bottomless mimosas. I loved my espresso martini as it had a chocolate hint too it which I feel many places don't do anymore. My husband got the peach and mango belinni where the mango flavor was stronger than the peach which I loved because I am a mango fan. My husband wished his taco shells for the birria were a bit harder/crunchier but other than that he loved the flavor. I loved my chicken fajiatas as the chicken was still very tender. It also lasted me another 2 meals after this one. Although this place is a little on the pricier side I feel like you get your moneys worth. Plus the service is good and very fast.

There were 6 of us. The waiter gave us a small basket of chips. I asked if it was possible for another basket. He reluctantly said yes but never brought them. We asked another person and they didn't bring them either. My son wanted a steak quesadilla. The waiter said that the steak in the quesadilla was chili rubbed and the only way to have it plain was to get the up-charged $10 steak. That's absurd! My 3 year old would definitely not want a chili rubbed steak. I ordered chicken quesadillas instead. They were just ok. Nothing special. They didn't come with anything so I ordered rice and beans. I found them to be overpriced and not worth it.
