Beautiful little shop with amazing variety. Andrea, the person who waited on us, was very sweet and totally awesome. She took time to talk to us and make real conversation. She also was very helpful with answering all our questions concerning the area. Now, the important part: The chocolate! Wow! Obviously, we didn't try everything, but I sure did want to! Everything looked amazing and what little we got tasted awesome! This is a real chocolate shop with imported and hand made pieces, so expect to pay a little more. Four pieces were $7.00, but so worth it! They also did chocolate baskets and arrangements as well. The perfect place for a great treat or gift for a special someone! read more

This place does not seem to disappoint... Ever. I got 2 boxes, one of the imports and other of the domestics. Both were delicious and my family devoured them in a heart beat. I had family coming over from New York and out of the country and both sides were very impressed with the quality and selections they had. Of course the older groups enjoyed the liquor "flavored" ones. It's an awesome place to stop by wether you want just one piece or trying to have a meeting/gathering and looking for some bites. My 5 year old even enjoys these like crazy and could not get enough of their chocolate bars and chocolate strawberries. Will be back! read more

It's Valentine's day, a few days after my boyfriend got himself a luxury suite in the doghouse for his poor decision making skills during a weekend at Mardi Gras. So, he actually plans ahead (for ONCE!!) and puts some effort into an apology. I'm a very easy going and forgiving person, hence the luxury suite, so it doesn't take much but the chocolates from ChocolatBoutique, really go above and beyond. So rich, creamy and just a perfect treat for any occasion. My boyfriend splurged, of course, and really picked some great stuff. Even the balsamic truffle, top notch. He adds white balsamic to everything...I mean everything. All sorts of proteins, absolutely all veggies and most of anything else he whips up. So, when he saw the balsamic truffle, he convinced me I had to try this thing. It was a dark chocolate 'something'. After taking a massive chomp into this divine little sweet, he mentions the balsamic. *insert eye roll* However, I definitely couldn't be mad. A perfect pairing of flavors and a good compromise for our constant debate on vinegars. This boutique does it right. They are patient, informative and fully understand that quality is key to rescuing so many from the doghouse! If you're in the Baxter community, drop by and try one, or a dozen :) read more

Great boutique with great selection and the truffles are delectable. The owner is very friendly and informative about the chocolates and truffles and is happy to answer any questions you have. I really love to support small local businesses and this is one of my favorites in Baxter Village. Some other small business owners should take a lesson from ChocolatBoutique. My husband recently came home with an assortment of treats from here as a gift. The chocolate covered strawberries are average. The white chocolate raspberry bon bon is pretty good as is the creme brûlée truffle. The chocolate mint truffle is down right disgusting. The filling is bizarre, it tastes like spearamint gum, which is terrible paired with chocolate. The other flavors are all sort of ok but not great. I usually use Godiva as a comparison point for chocolatiers since it's pretty universal. In this instance I told my husband I'd rather have Godiva next time. read more

Chocolat Boutique compares nicely with Michel Cluizel's in NYC, at about a third the price. The European owner offers exceptional customer service, even when he is "working with a particularly difficult batch of chocolate" at the same time. The assortment is overwhelming, but I would recommend both the balsamic and the cayenne pepper truffles for a unique, intense flavor. read more

Terrible, terrible Service... Rude to me and my child. An employee on Friday night was horrific. Hey, look, I'm a regular buyer and I own a local business, I have NEVER written a bad review about another local business EVER... but this was just that incredibly awful. Walked in to this chocolate shop and immediately thought it was very cute and the lady was absolutely friendly I can't remember her name but this review is nothing against her. They had free samples and it was nice to try things I normally wouldn't think to try or purchase. The samples were delicious. I bought their white chocolate covered pretzels and French vanilla fudge. I was not a fan of either one unfortunately. I think that anyone looking to purchase chocolate here should stick with milk or dark chocolate because I personally didn't have a good experience with the white chocolate. I would still come back though! I just would avoid the things I initially purchased. read more
