Great tasting donuts! The glazed croissant and strawberry and cream croissant donuts were a hit. Tried a maple iced and standard glazed and weren't bad, but more on the grocery store quality side. Limited hours and a bit of a drive, not sure I'll be back.

I wanted to try their pumpkin donuts which were special for the month of October and finally made it this weekend. Covid-19: you can order and pay online. They also do curbside pickup. I got a pumpkin filled donut and a raspberry whipped cream donut. Both donuts were good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the raspberry jam, but I loved the raspberry whipped cream. I wanted the pumpkin one to have a little more pumpkin flavor. I wouldn't say these are my favorite donuts in the Charlotte area, but I enjoyed them.

I got the breakfast bowl which included: Eggs Bacon Potatoes Cheese Sour cream S&P It was pretty good. I then also ordered like a strawberry short cake donut, it really wasn't anything amazing, you could taste the ingredients and not in a good way

Stopped by Sweet Dough this morning to pick up some donuts! Before going there I checked out their website and noticed they had a create your own donut, very similar to Duck Donuts (hate to compare, but I love DD). So I came into Sweet Dough to order a dozen create your own donuts. They had a case of donuts already made so you don't have to be overwhelmed with creating your own. The staff was friendly, but they seemed alarmed and excited at the same time that I wanted to create my own dozen. I got donuts from maple bacon, peanut butter and chocolate, lemon strawberry, vanilla cookies and cream, to chocolate caramel glaze. I brought them to our office and they were well liked. I have to say though, after having Duck Donuts with a similar setup, they are far inferior to Duck (a coworker agreed). I am not a fan of cake Donuts, but Duck and Sweet Dough have cake based donuts. I don't like cake because of that sticky top of the mouth after taste. Duck's does not have that after taste, Sweet Dough does. -1. With toppings, Duck has it plentiful - example, the maple bacon, bacon is covering the donut fully. Here, couple scattered about. -2. +1 for being local donut shop, +1 for all of the options, +1 for friendly fun staff. It was fun to check out, but honestly, I would rather drive out the way for Duck in Charlotte or on my side of Fort Mill, I'm close to Rise for a close donut craving. Best of luck to Sweet Dough!

Went here thinking it was a larger scale restaurant for breakfast/brunch. But they stopped serving it by the time we arrived. There is a large counter/donut case, and maybe 4 -tables for 2. Grabbed a donut, Boston cream and it was delicious. Soft, fluffy and fresh! Hubby loved his vanilla frosted donut.

Visiting from out-of-town for vacation, and surprised the kids with Saturday morning doughnuts. We ordered online for morning pick-up, and the process was seamless and very easy. The doughnuts are yeast doughnuts, and were a hit! Elevate your Saturday morning by ordering these soft pillows of deliciousness!

    MMMMMMM....DONUTS

My wife had picked up donuts before, but I had never been in there. We were heading to Carowinds on mothers day and she wanted to grab some donuts, MJ donuts is amazing but out of the way, and Sweet Dough is close to our home. As a fan of Dunkin Donuts Coffee, and I don't care for their donuts, so I walked in assuming I'd get some donuts and eat on the road. That immediately changed when I saw they had biscuit breakfast sandwiches and it was game on! We grabbed a couple donuts, a plain biscuit, and a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. I was amazed to see the owner/manager/in-charge person get some eggs, beat them and cook them on a griddle. As I watched, I noticed that they make their donuts there as well! Their donuts are amazing - fluffy, thick, sweet but not krispy creme sweet, but pastry sweet. The biscuits are HUGE! They are moist, and once you add egg, cheese and sausage - it was phenomenal. I looked at my gut after I finished the meal with an apology. I knew it would be growing as I would be eating this more often! The coffee tastes like coffee - you have 2 choices - house and dark. Tasted like donut shop coffee to me. We saw a fire truck outside, and decided to get them a dozen donuts - which prompted Sweet Dough to put a discount on their donuts. It's a small shop that has that small shop charm. The focus and detail to customer service is amazing - it fits into the friendliness I have discovered in Fort Mill.

    Hair in donut

Found a hair baked into my donut. Definitely wasn't my hair since half the long hair was still stuck inside the donut. Really disappointed since there aren't many donut options nearby.

I almost ordered a second serving before realizing we still had four other dishes coming! The chicken and waffles definitely satisfied my craving--crispy, savory, and full of flavor. The mushroom ravioli was also outstanding. We finished with the stuffed calamari, which reminded me of something my mom used to make when I was younger. It wasn't Asian-inspired like hers, but the concept brought back some wonderful memories. To top it all off, I enjoyed a delicious dessert while feeling pleasantly tipsy from the evening. Just look at the photos of a selection of our dishes. This was well worth an update of my earlier review. First, Speckled Pear has removed the community seating and the prepared food, bakery and produce counters from my earlier visits and replaced them with true "restaurant" tables. The focus is now squarely on dining, with lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch service. And oh, there's still a wine bar and bottles are still available for purchase. In my humble view a significant positive step. Our servers were excellent, including helpfully explaining some of the wine options (my wife and sister-in-law ordered a flight). Still a fairly casual environment. Great acoustics- I hate echo chambers. We sat close to other guests but were able to easily talk among ourselves without hearing any extraneous neighbor conversations. The décor and vibe give the place a lot of personality, and it made for an enjoyable dinner date for me and my wife. Service was excellent during our visit. She wasn't thrilled with the sauce she chose, which was a bit of a letdown, but everything else we tried hit the mark. I had the 18xx Chicken Sandwich (minus the bun). Glad I went without the bun because that thing would have been a bit of a beast to try and eat as a sandwich. Overall, it's a great spot with a cool atmosphere, and an impressive beer lineup. I feel comfortable recommending though I'd likely try a steak or burger option. Update: Two more visits and I've tried two other entrees: the Ooey-Gooey Grilled Cheese Sandwich and the Spinach and Salmon Salad. I had the salad because I wasn't especially hungry on that visit. It was neither bad nor outstanding. The grilled cheese sandwich was, indeed, as advertised, both ooey and gooey and both in a good way. I'm still interested to try a burger on a future visit. On one of our visits, the kitchen team apparently used the tuna that was meant for my wife's Seared Ahi Tuna Salad for another meal which resulted in an additional 15-minute wait time for our food. Though disappointing, a member of the kitchen staff came to our table to explain that situation which was a professional courtesy move that was professional and respectable.

The food is over the moon delicious with plenty of options and reasonable serving sizes. Even with the slightly high price point, it is well worth every penny. And they take allergies SO seriously! Literally went through a bunch of ingredients to find what would and wouldn't be dairy-allergy safe. Atmosphere is fun but cozy, too. 100% recommend! In-depth: Postino has quickly become one of my favorite places in the CLT area after my 10/10 experience here. To start, the food. My word, it's amazing! Everything my friend and I tried was delicious. The bruschetta is 100% worth trying (the spinach artichoke one is my favorite), and the west coaster panini + romaine salad was tasty at every bite. Their wine is also good quality, with a decent-sized portion poured. Allergy safety is a major thing for them, too. Our server (Lee = the best waitress!) and her manager looked through their bread and ingredients for about 30 minutes to confirm what was and wasn't dairy safe (I asked how dairy allergies are handled for when I bring my husband next time). They also had quite a few gluten-free options, too. The manager explained that she wants people to be able to just come in and relax for a few hours without worrying if they'll get sick, which I truly, truly appreciate. Lee shared a similar sentiment, which was amazing. Now price... Yes, it is a *bit* pricey, but it is well worth it. Nothing felt lacking as far as flavor goes, and the allergy safety is a huge thing. This is one of the few places I felt my sandwich and salad were worth every penny, even if it was $17. Also, their rewards program is great. I got a free bruschetta board, and they offer several other perks. Make sure to sign up before or while dining there to get some good deals! In addition to their sincere care for allergy safety, the service is fantastic all around. They do group service, meaning you'll have several servers, and they encourage you to grab anyone if you have questions. This takes the pressure off of waiting for one server to walk by and really helped me relax. And the atmosphere? I could stay there all day! It's a really fun vibe, but the lighting and seating are very cozy. Overall, I've already recommended this place to 5+ people and will be returning soon
