When it comes to sales, there's no real difference between dealers, what sets one apart from the other is post-sale follow-up and service. To make a long review short(er), I bought my last Harley from Bayside because they could get it in a reasonable time. On delivery, the mechanic (a true wrench) took the time to explain everything and made some adjustments and installed a lot of additional parts I wanted. Each step of the way, I trusted his advice and solid craftsmanship in taking care of my bike. A good man! The Service Dept "customer facing staff", was not quite such a great experience, seeming aloof and certainly knew more about the customer and what they wanted than the customer. As with many others (including the mechanic) had done, I left for another dealer. Fast forward to today. All three HD dealers in SE Virginia have been consolidated into one, at the old Bayside HD location. Needing service I stopped by to schedule it in person. The new dealership, Ironclad HD, was an exercise in organized chaos and cat herding. Trying to combine the inventory and customer base of three dealers in the region is no small feat. But, I found that the initial "meet and greet" with the service staff was professional and as good as could be expected. I scheduled an appointment for a routine oil change and was glad to see they honored the pre-paid maintenance agreement I had when I purchased the bike. So I bring it in for service this morning and found the disarray of a couple weeks ago was lessened, but the service staff seemed very positive still. Also found out that my favorite mechanic had returned. Bonus. My low expectations for the experience were shattered! From initial check-in to walking out the door at the end, communication with the service writer, Vegas was timely and on point all the way. Now granted, this was a simple routine maintenance visit but if I got treated like this every time, that's a thousand-fold improvement over the previous service staff. Bravo Zulu (as we say in the Navy) Vegas and the Ironclad staff, you've brought at least one customer back. Just please, PLEASE do something with your customer waiting area. That was the most spartan, uncomfortable experience since I had to hot-rack on an FFG-7........ Of course, Ludacris blaring as background music wasn't the most enjoyable either. Just one old white guys opinion....... Looking forward to future visits.

He told me to "drop it off Wednesday," but no formal appointment was made -- no confirmation text, no email, no name taken, and nothing written down in front of me. Because of that, I assumed they were operating on a flexible drop-off basis, which is common with many repair shops. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make it Wednesday due to being sick, so I dropped my car off early Thursday morning instead. Throughout the day, I called multiple times just to check whether they would be able to look at it. Each time, I was told nothing -- no update, no estimate, no clarity. I even told the front desk that if they couldn't get to it, I would gladly come pick it up so I wasn't taking up their space unnecessarily. When I finally spoke with Chris, the tone and attitude I received were extremely unprofessional. Rather than simply explaining that they were too busy to look at my vehicle, he blamed me repeatedly for them not being able to work on it -- even though no confirmed appointment was ever created, no system entry was made, and no communication was sent to me to establish a scheduled date. I acknowledged my mistake in not coming Wednesday or calling ahead, but the way the situation was handled was dismissive, rude, and lacked any basic customer service. A simple "We're booked today, we'll try for tomorrow" would have gone a long way. Instead, after leaving my car there all day with no updates, I received a message saying it was "ready for pickup" -- even though they never inspected it. The entire experience left me disappointed and feeling like my time and concerns weren't valued. I understand shops get busy and that I didn't arrive on the originally discussed day, but professionalism, communication, and courtesy should still be consistent. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope the shop takes this feedback seriously, because good service is as much about communication and respect as it is about repairs.

I completed an online quote request for service. Had a reply saying they'd get back to me on Monday…read moremorning. However, Monday morning came and my vehicle would not start. I had to jump it. So I came to this business requesting help and the older female was very short, very rude, and condescending while I explained my situation. Never asked for any information about me or my vehicle just asked that I leave it with no promise to get to it because they were " booked full" to which I could understand. But I could not do such a thing with a child at daycare and a husband at Work. I had no alternative mode of transportation to be sure that I would get my child at the end of his day or get to him in the event of an emergency. My issue is not getting service immediately. I in no way feel entitled to demand same-day service. It was the attitude of the individual that was really offputting for someone who is the face of the business when you walk in. Next, she became very frustrated with what I was explaining, and she said they would not be able to get to my vehicle until Thursday. Which I replied we will be out of town then. She then said something along the lines of I don't even know I can't help you anymore and directed me to the person sitting behind the computer who also said "I don't know either. I just got here." The business had been open for nearly an hour at that point, it was almost 9 AM. The entire interaction was discouraging and borderline demeaning. Additionally, these people don't know who I was they never asked for my name or anything and at this point, I still have not received any email back about scheduling a potential appointment for service. I went down the street to Firestone anyways, and was helped immediately but people much nicer who talked to me with empathy and respect. Something I did not receive at great bridge auto.

They torqued them and was told and put on job order leak stopped. Drove it home and had leak. Took to another mechanic and they identified a crack I believe he said in the gear and also found another leak. Now I get to pay to have fluids changed when the repairs are done. Horrible service. I had my vehicle towed there (it's $600 for each tow) and even spoke to someone there, told them what kind of vehicle and what was wrong and was told to bring it in for an estimate. NOBODY told me it would be $158/hour to diagnose...nobody. I even spoke to the mechanic once it was there, someone at the front desk and there was NO mention of this. I read some of the other reviews and I'm getting the sense they definitely take advantage of people if the situation calls for it. I called twice to get a status with no response or call back in that month and a half worth of time. Finally called yesterday and was put on hold a few times (it seemed they were looking into an issue), then a new service writer told me that he just started three days ago, read the notes that said to just "call owner" and says oh gee that would be $158/hour since it wasn't running (nobody at the get go told me that, nor after or since until now) AND my vehicle has been sitting there for a month and a half or more!? I would have made other plans if I knew this. So then to top it off, I get hung up on (I was completely calm on the phone), call back, leave a message and then eventually connect about an hour later. Now all of a sudden he says that the lead mechanic already did 1.5 of work that I'd be charged for and fixed a switch and got it started but won't stay running and needs more work. The lack of communication in this is absolutely astounding and now how do I trust anything!? All I got was an oops sorry nobody called you and told you how much it would be or even gave you anything in writing or authorized any work!? My family owns a shop farther away and that is completely illegal!! I have no choice now but to have them continue and told them to cut it off at a certain amount of hours. I will update once this situation is complete and fairly if resolved. Now I'm skeptical but if I can't at least get the vehicle running to make it to my house, I will have to get another $600 tow. If they can tell me what's wrong with it, even better. I'm hoping for the best and will update once this is resolved.

I brought my car there to do a radiator and crankshaft seal replacement. It took 1 week to do the…read morejob. I had to call myself and follow up if it was done. When I got the car back my headlights did not work. I went back to let them know and left my car there. They said they would take a look. Another week went by and I had to call again to follow up. They said I would need to take the car to Tidewater Auto Electric because of the wiring. I did a quick Google search and it suggested to check the headlight relay and ballasts. I ordered the parts on Amazon and changed them myself. I am not a mechanic and was able to figure it out. The headlights worked after that. They have a Superman figure displayed there at the register. I guess headlight work is Superman's kryptonite. I would be very cautious of the accountability at this shop.
