Chris called me later that day to let me know that it was a minor fix and no tune up was needed.

This was the worst repair experience I have ever had…read more I brought my 2003 Toyota Camry to this shop because I was hearing a noise under the hood that became worse whenever I applied the brakes. Mike immediately told me the problem was the brakes. After a very brief test drive, without performing any diagnostic testing or inspecting other possible causes, he again stated that the brakes were the issue. He quoted me over $700 for the brake repair, then offered a "discount" that brought the price down to $590. Although the price seemed high, I agreed because I wanted the problem fixed. The brakes were replaced the same day, but shortly after leaving the shop, I noticed the noise was still there. It was slightly less noticeable but had definitely not been resolved. Since the shop had already closed, I returned a few days later. This time, without any diagnostic testing, Mike claimed the issue was the engine. A mechanic checked the oil level, found it low, added oil, and told me to bring the car back if the noise continued. Again, no effort was made to properly diagnose the actual source of the problem. The noise disappeared for a few days, but on the fourth day it returned while I was driving on I-64. This time it was extremely loud, sounding as though something underneath the hood was dragging on the roadway. I had to pull over and call a tow truck. While waiting, I explained the situation to a state trooper, including the brake repair and the amount I had paid. His response was, "You've been ripped off." I later called around for pricing, including another location in Virginia Beach, and was told the same brake job should have cost no more than about $450. After having the vehicle towed back to the shop, I was given an estimate of approximately $7,000 for additional repairs. Naturally, I declined. My biggest concern is that the shop never properly diagnosed the original problem and allowed a vehicle with a serious mechanical issue back onto the road. That was irresponsible and potentially dangerous. I requested a partial refund because I had been overcharged for brakes that did not fix the issue and because the vehicle ultimately became unusable. Mike refunded $250 without any discussion, which speaks for itself. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. The lack of proper diagnostics, questionable pricing, and failure to identify a serious mechanical problem resulted in a costly and frustrating experience.

I tried to avoid bringing my car here as 9/10 people I've talked to say they have brought their car…read morethere and they get quotes for a rebuilt motor after coming in for something simple. However, they are the Subaru specialist in the area so I had to do what I had to do . I brought my car in for excessive smoking. over the phone Aaron was convinced my car had a vacuum leak . brought the car in , he said they have to charge 150$ to inspect the vehicle so they can see all modifications done to the car, great that's fine. the list of inspection was pretty obvious things such as tires lose air , fender liner is rubbed and no battery tie down etc (things I don't need anyone to tell me) not a problem whatever , then was told it would be over 1k to see if it's the valve seals leaking and then he provided a quote for a rebuilt motor or a new one 6-12k was told not to drive the car is pretty much a bomb ready to blow up . I pick the car up and I sell as is for cheap . come to find out , the PCV valve was bad and needed to be replaced (65$ part) and the car is better than ever with it's new owner . To give the company the benefit of the doubt, the PCV valve is a common (mod) to the wrxs to help with catless smoke .... However 65$ to fix the car VS 6k-12k is a CRAZY difference. It's unfortunate that I had to take a big money loss but I hope my experience can help someone else!!

Extremely pleased with the work done on my 2006 Corvette. All Aspects were timely, knowledgeable,…read morecourteous, kept me informed, called on questions, and did what I requested. Great quality and value. Will be my choice for any future independent shop repairs I need on any of my cars. In general I'm very leery about independent shops having been burned in the past. It's a relief and pleasure to find a shop with quality standards.

They charged me $30 to look at t and provided an a free vehicle look over on other things. They let me know that it was indeed leaking and found an additional leak. They sent me a quote and I was flabbergasted at the price. The first original leak repair was quoted for $2,700. They did find another leak that would cost me an additional $1500 to repair . Way more than I was planning. I talked to a gearhead at my work and he said absolutely do not pay that. He said they do this to women, unfortunately. I talked to two other local shops who quoted me for everything on the original repair for $800 and $1100. Those quotes were for everything 17th Street was going to do for $2,700. I hate that companies do this. The icing on the cake was that when I drove my car home, I popped the hood and they didn't even attach the cover to the motor. It was just laying cockeyed on the top. It makes me question what else they didn't reinstall after looking over my car.

Completely unacceptable, frustrating experience…read more I paid $1,338 for front brakes and calipers, and within six months I was still having braking issues. When I returned, they replaced only one front rotor under warranty. After a third visit for the same braking noise/vibration, I was told the problem was my rear brakes, even though those had been replaced only three months earlier at another shop. I then went to three independent shops, and all confirmed the real issue was a warped front rotor (the one not replaced the second time I brought it in). This should've been fixed the second or third time I brought it in. Instead they shifted blame to another shop, in which their work was confirmed to be fine. And for the price I paid, I shouldn't have had to bring it in multiple times for the same issue. Still after three visits and over $1,300 spent, my issue was still not properly fixed. The only good thing about this experience was that it was under warranty, and another shop was able to fix my brakes properly. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before trusting this shop, and if possible save your time and go elsewhere.
