Came here on a Sunday morning with a nice welcoming band. It's a very neighborhood cafe. Had some sandwiches, mimosas and cafe drinks. Sandwiches were okay, maybe I'll get the bagel sandwiches next time. Mimosas were $2 a glass with a sandwich and very reasonably priced. Mocha was on point as well. Just came here for coffee but I loved the vibe... small, family business, very homey -- like your parents' living room or a college coffee house. The double cappuccino was fantastic and they have a counter of stuff to customize your coffee with milks, creams, sugars, spices, etc. Stop in and pick up a bite to go, or hang out and grab a book, play chess, or enjoy the interesting artwork on the wall. First, the dirty look I received as I walked in the door from some guy behind the counter nearly turned me around. I have no idea what his problem is or was but he sure as heck made me feel unwelcome. As for the food; I had what they call an oatmeal cookie which was nearly inedible because it was so sweet, something I thought I'd never say because I'm a guy who loves his sweets, but holy cow! that cookie was so sweet it made my teeth hurt. read more

Location, location, location. That is what makes the Chit-Chat cafe a destination spot in Pacifica. It's not near the pier, next to the pier, adjacent to the pier - it is ON the pier. Talk about an ocean view! The place has an old-timey beach town feel, which I love. There are maybe one or two tables, but you really ought to grab a seat at the counter (which faces out, not in) and watch the tide come in. The light is simply beautiful. Food is very snack-shack fare like bagels and sandwiches. I had the seafood salad sandwich which was pretty good. You can get all kinds of drinks, like coffee, tea, and everything from Odwalla to Pom iced teas. Like any good neighboorhood place, they cater to their clientele - you can buy 1 banana, 1 funsize Snickers bar, etc. Prices are very reasonable. On some nights, they serve clam chowder in a bread basket, and do BBQ's. If you have out of town guests, they could certainly get a taste for the local flavor here more than at somewhere like Boudin. After you eat, a walk on the pier is, or should be, required. read more

At my age, it is so difficult to find stuff to do that doesn't involve drinking. Guy #2 and I decided that we're going to cut back on our alcohol intake. Last night, instead of going to The Mission to drink beers, we stayed local, but still drank -- he had a large hot-chocolate and I had a medium Chai Latte at Chit-Chat Cafe. Guy #2: "You better make her drink really good, because she'll be rating this place at some website." Staff: (smiles, becomes nervous) "Oh, okay." Guy #2: "I'm not kiddin' you. She'll probably have the review written by tomorrow." Staff: (laughs) C-C Cafe is cool. I like that it's right on the corner and there's nothing better than hearing the waves break while enjoying a nice hot beverage. Not only did they have different types of beverages / pastries / sandwiches, they also had tons of Torani flavored syrups and some Mitchell's ice-cream. There's plenty of room to lounge and read a book or surf the web -- hot-spot (DSL Internet Access), baby! There are also chess/checkers, Quija boards and other games available to use. By the way, my Chai Latte was very good -- not too sweet and it wasn't too hot to drink right away. They closed at 9:30pm (we got there at 9:32pm) and I thought it was nice for the lady not to kick us out -- we stayed there until about 9:54pm :-)! read more

I've had their coffee before which is pretty good but I ordered their matcha and it basically tasted like sugary milk. The color was barely green as well. I like to support local but this drink was not something I would go back for. read more

After leaving a message about burnt bagels and bagels missing ham last week I spoke briefly with the manager about the issues. His lame feedback oh dont know how you got a stale bagel and then missing ham on another burnt bagel. I reluctantly went back today only to get another burnt bagel. His excuse, oh we have a rental toaster and gee I even forgot the lox on a bagel. Many Pacifica businesses have been getting away with shitty service and products. This is yet another see the photo below. Its time to make things better here and this place needs to be replaced they can blame starbucks but their product sucks that is why business is slow stay away from this hole with a great view. You would think that since the cafe has an ocean view they will have a great window you can stare through. Since I came here to work on my laptop, I appreciate the free wifi and power outlet. Cozy and home style. Staff is friendly and laid back. Just don't expect quick service. The location is great and on the corner over looking the million dollar ocean view. The decor inside is not fancy and a bit mismatched but again come for the great view and just relax. I hate righting bad reviews about my neighborhood restaurants but we're done with this place. 1) horrible food quality 2) horrible customer service, the girls fixing the food are rude, dismissive, and uncommunicative 3) horribly long wait time (30 minutes for a grilled cheese and a grilled ham and cheese) We saw them microwave the cheese for our cheese sandwich instead of grilling it. Wtf They made a grilled ham and cheese WITHOUT ANY CONDIMENTS..mayonnaise anyone??? They ignored us and then proceeded to take 30 minutes to fix the disgusting sandwiches. Saw this place, and immediately looked to Yelp! decided to try it out. Great bluesy music playing :) the girl was super jazzed to create my own bagel sandwich creation with me. Coffee, live music, and a view. What more can you ask for? This is a small, local cafe right by the water. Many locals come here and everyone seemed to know everyone. We came on a Sunday morning and there was a live jazz band playing. It was fun to listen to them and sip on some coffee. I love that even though it's a small place, the music wasn't too loud and you could still have conversations. There's plenty of seating and a nice place to sit and get work done or catch up with a friend. I got the cappuccino and shared the pulled pork sandwich with my friend. Both were good, but nothing to write home about. I think this is a nice local's joint. read more

I have been coming to the Chit-Chat Cafe off and on for years as long as I can remember. I do not frequent this spot regularly as it is a little out of my way, but every time I stop in I ask myself, "why don't I come here more often?" They have a great atmosphere here, accompanied by great coffee at affordable prices. The price comes out to way less than you would spend at a Starbucks and the product is superior in my opinion. I am going to try to support this great local business more and come in for a drink more often than I do currently. read more

The cushioned seats in the back were very comfy and made me feel quite at home, enjoying my hot pastrami and swiss sandwich. I studied here a couple of hours, as there are outlets, and the noise level ebbs and flows throughout the day. The client base seems to be of the older crowd, relaxing at their local coffee spot. Its the place to go grab a cup o joe and walk across the street to a great view of the beach from a cliff. Be careful. It gets windy. Or you can stay inside at a window table and watch the sunset...awwwe. But the chairs aren't so comfortable. I used to live at the top of this hill, its better driving down from the Skyline 35 than its is from the Highway 1. You get a panoramic view from atop. Just go here ok. It's not about the food, people. It's about the kitsch and the "throwback" feel of the place, and the packed house on a Saturday mid-afternoon, singing their hearts out to old Beatles tunes. We'd been to Mazetti's up the street for great coffee and pastries. Walking toward the beach, we happened upon the Chit Chat and heard music inside. Yes, it lured us in - still carrying a Mazetti's coffee, we worked our way through the crowd to find a couple of seats. Not a single thing about the Chit Chat would make me want to eat there. As a former employee of the Chit Chat, I know the seedy behind the scenes facts that nobody knows! Well if I were to tell you it's dirty and full of critters, that's news to no one. The food is less than mediocre, but what do you want from a coffee shop. It's not a deli, and it's not a restaurant. Most of the employees don't wear gloves, nor wash their coffee paws, (I was militant about cleanliness, I'll have you know) so stick to the beverages and biscottis and you'll be golden. I'd steer clear from Friday nights, or Sunday mornings. The live "entertainment" is basically Pacifica's "finest" meandering into a microphone. The Friday nights are the worst, when the disaffected youth come out and try to express themselves musically. Whether it's some kid talk/rapping, or some kid playing the Primus bass lines he just learned in his room. Go take a shower kids, and get a job. (And they usually do, at the Chit Chat, and don't wash their hands.) read more

I popped in here for the first time in years, thinking I'd get some Internetting done. Sadly, the free Wifi in this place is too slow and intermittent to really be usable. Very, very frustrating. I ordered a soy latte and sourdough toast. When my toast was ready, I asked for a side of margarine or butter. The worker was extremely rude telling me that I did not ask for that when ordering and it was a difference in price. I apologized and offered to pay the difference handing him $2. He scoffed and turned around putting little shavings of butter on the side of the basket then threw it back to me. The Internet does not always work. It goes in and out. I don't recommend Chit Chat Cafe for anything more than Internet surfing - definitely don't go if you need Internet for work or school assignments. My soy latte was 70% foam and the espresso was burnt. It was not worth the $4. The go-to cafe in the Manor, P-Town yo, just because. Ok nah, nah, they get the best breakfast bagels and sands while you wash down with quality coffee. Check the view fool, in addition to gettin some of that great Pacific Ocean view, you can also catch the condos falling off the cliff. Where else can you get that? I really want to like this place, but the lattes are Inconsistent! There's one guy who is barrista-riffic! (ginger haired, glasses, goatee) and my latte was smooth, creamy, chocolatey - everything that coffee + steamed milk can be!! (and it was pretty - he did a mean leaf design) Was so looking forward to it this AM when I overslept and didn't have time to make my own. Disappointed in the latte served by the different guy this morning. Oh barrista god - please teach your colleagues!! i think they let the espresso over extract, and the milk was way too hot.
