I have been a loyal patient at Chiro Care for years. I hurt my back and neck some time ago and I am so lucky to have found someone like Dr. Kum to treat me. I had a lot of problems with my pregnancy, and I was scared about being treated as I've been to other chiropractors before. Dr. Kum took me into his care since day one and I couldn't be happier. He is professional, personable, and highly knowledgeable in his field. He has become one of my most trusted doctors as he makes sure I understand the advice that he gives and he has helped me with my pain. Even when I was pregnant, he made sure I was taken care of and everything was safe for my baby. I have had so much improvement in my condition after seeing Dr. Kum that I would highly recommend him to everyone. My experience at Chiro Care has been a godsend. The staff are friendly and courteous and always make sure that I feel important. They have even fit me in a couple times when I needed it. I feel like I'm part of their work family as I feel everyone there has made the effort to get to know me just a little bit more. I'm so grateful for Dr. Kum. I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for his care. He truly takes his time to make sure you are his priority. I'm sad I had to move back to Canada or I would of loved to bring all of them with me here. I want to be clear that I only had good experiences with Dr. Puri. I found him to be professional, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful as a medical advocate when I tore my ACL and needed extra guidance. However, I have had 10+ years to think about my experiences with Dr. Kum, which made me increasingly uncomfortable as a young 20-something woman in his care. At first, I appreciated that he wasn't afraid to really "get in there" with low back/glute massages. A lot of chiropractors and even masseuses will avoid the glutes (perhaps for good reason). However, it did feel a bit strange that this was happening in only my underwear and a thin gown, so I started wearing gym shorts for more coverage. I even asked my male boss, who was also a patient, if he experienced these intensive glute massages, and he said yes, but always over his shorts. But then there started being inner thigh massages that felt unnecessarily intimate and when I asked if it was really necessary, Dr. Kum responded that all muscles are linked and that this would be helpful for my low back issues. I believe he then asked if I would like him to avoid that area, and I said yes. At that point, I started to feel really uncomfortable and decided to stop seeing Dr. Kum because it just felt unnecessarily intrusive and inappropriate. As far as his adjustments, I always found them to be weak and unsatisfactory- he would have to try several times and often times it wouldn't release at all. His focus seemed to be much more heavily on massage, but in a way that didn't feel entirely appropriate for a chiropractor (and was a vastly different approach from Dr. Puri). Again, I've had 10+ years to think about how he made me feel, and as a now 41 year old woman with two daughters, I can undoubtedly say that the way he made me feel was not ok. read more

I've moved around the country quite a bit, so I've seen close to a dozen different chiropractors over the years. I would not recommend Dr. Kum, and I'll explain why. This is the only chiropractor I've ever seen who requires patients to change into a hospital gown top for every appointment, including basic adjustments. And it's a tissue thin gown, mind you. As an, ahem, shapely young woman, I felt unnecessarily exposed. The few times I saw the other chiropractor at this practice, he looked at me like I'd sprouted an extra head when I asked if I should change into the usual gown. Dr. Kum also sees patients in a large private room with the door closed. At first I appreciated the extra privacy, but I quickly became uncomfortable when he would set me up with a hot pack, laying on my back, and then sit at his desk for long stretches at a time, facing me while I was laying on the table. His back adjustments were fine, but his neck adjustments were unpleasant. He would pull, it wouldn't give, he'd say "sorry," and then this would repeat for 5-10 rounds. It felt like he was merely tugging and yanking at my neck muscles, and I never got the relief I've known from neck adjustments from other chiropractors. The absolute worst part for me, and the reason for giving one star, is that he would make strange, borderline suggestive, comments, while doing my adjustments. I kept second-guessing myself, but when it kept happening, I finally had enough and never went back. I've never experienced anything like it in a doctor's office. :( read more

I've received wonderful care from each of the practitioners; whether you are being seen by Dr. Kum or Dr. Puri, you are in kind and careful hands. A bit of background: I am a 61 year old who sits a lot at work but is extremely active and trying to remain so. I currently do a lot of cardio (elliptical, bike, pool, etc) along with some weight training and yoga. Since turning forty, I've suffered through a medley of various sports injuries, each stemming from repetitive overuse type of situations. Over the years, I've seen chiropractors, physical therapists, muscular therapists,etc. So I've "been around the block" when it comes to dealing with a number of chiropractors and generally with most, it's the same type of chiropractic manipulation with each session Dr Puri was referred to me by a massage therapist as the go to doc for the tough problems. What I found is that I have not seen another chiropractor as detail oriented, knowledgeable and able to find the underlying cause of what is bothering me as Dr. Puri. He is an excellent healthcare professional for soft tissue injuries, mobility issues, sports medicine and chiropractic care. He is extremely knowledgeable and his methods are effective! I personally like how he involves the patient in their own care by giving me a few very specific home exercises to follow up with on my own. If you have myofascial issues or soft tissue injuries, muscle tightness or biomechanics mobility or spine issues, It is not easy to find a person that is professional, smart, detailed and that cares like Dr Puri. Although a busy guy, he makes you feel like you are his only patient, giving you complete attention, is a good listener, and excellent with explaining every step of his treatments. I have been to many, many chiropractors and Dr. Kum is by far the BEST Chiropractic Doctor that I have ever been to! He is knowledgeable. kind, caring, funny and absolutely 1000% skilled! I was a patient of Dr. Kum's when he was working with Wellspace in Cambridge and lost track of him once they closed but thank God for Yelp and Google because I was able to find him again. I have to tell you, he is a Godsend! I was in a car accident and needed some help with some stiffness and subluxations which were preventing full ROM and he fixed me right up! I have sent a few friends to him as well. My friends and I consider him a life saver! One of my poor friends couldn't even move because his back pain was so bad... he now drives about a hour to see him because he is just that good! Wish I could give 0 stars. Maybe they're great if you can get in with them on time, but they've canceled my intake appointment twice now, both times mere HOURS before my appointment. Offering no other alternatives or providers aside from rescheduling again, WEEKS from my original appointments. Obviously there was no concern for the adjustments I've had to make in my schedule - taking time off of work and making arrangements to be at these appointments. This means I've spent two months thinking I was "in" with this practice, that I could've spent finding care somewhere else, totally screwing me over, leaving me high and dry at 33.5 weeks pregnant. I go to both Dr Kum and Dr Puri - Dr Kum for neck and back adjustments and Dr Puri for soft tissue. I've been with Dr Kum for many years - he's highly gifted, very warm, funny...Dr Puri fixed my very painful plantar fasciitis with the Graston technique - I go for tune-ups now. He's highly knowledgeable, personable.... he does tend to run late, but doesn't rush you. Both Dr.s are highly attentive and focused! What good fortune to have 2 necessary healers for my well being in the same place!!!! read more

Dr. Puri is fantastic. I was referred to him by my hip specialist and over the course of a few sessions of active release therapy I am walking and active again. I realized I hadn't made additional appointments accidentally and then waited a couple of weeks and found that I was doing so much better. He is extremely knowledgeable about the body (and especially hip conditions) and takes a great deal of time with patients to educate them on their issues and work through a treatment plan. I was exhausted by the time I saw him with dr after dr but I'm so glad I was referred to him. It is Thanksgiving today and my friend and I were talking about what we're each thankful for from this past year. I would have to include my chiropractor Dr Robert Kum, at Chirocare in Arlington. I was laughing about how he is one of my longest, most successful relationships: I've been seeing him for about 16 or 17 years, I believe. He is the most consistent and caring medical presence I've ever had in my life. He has taken care of my increasing mobility challenges as I've gone from my 50s to my 70s. Dr. Puri provides decent quality care, and I do feel better. However, he is consistently 15-30 min late for appointments. Even my MD isn't that bad. Also, if I am 15 minutes late, the front desk staff makes a huge fuss about it and acts like I have committed an egregious offense. I could do without the hypocrisy and inconvenience/lack of consideration for my time. I won't be back. read more

I was referred to Dr Kum by my 28 year old daughter who highly recommended him to help me with a chronic shin problem. The first time I met him was when I accompanied my daughter to her appointment and treatment because she was so enthusiastic about Dr Kum helping me. I watched him treat my daughters back problem with respect, confidence and skill. My daughter moved out of the area, but the first thing she does when she comes home to visit, is book an appt with Dr. Kum. Seriously. He is her favorite chiropractor ever. So because of all her positive recommendation, I started seeing Dr. Kum weekly to try to resolve the pain in my shin. He is an amazing practioner. He was kind, respectful and he helped me tremendously. I suffered for several years prior to my starting treatment with Dr. Kum. He helped me manage the pain. I would highly recommend Dr. Kum for anyone. My family feels he is quite extraordinary. Many of our friends see him now as well. Dr kum is a talented practioner and an equally lovely man. Dr. Kum at ChiroCare Associates is awesome! I am 9 months pregnant and had been having really terrible back pain. I'd been seeing a pregnancy physical therapist and getting prenatal massage regularly - but nothing really seemed to help. I started seeing him 2.5 weeks ago and I felt better immediately after the first visit. I still need to see him weekly to keep the pain at bay, but am feeling SO much better since starting to work with him. The front desk staff are really nice and everyone makes an effort to work me into the schedule, even at short notice. The space is peaceful and very clean. I'm a big fan! read more

Dr Puri is a rock star of chiropractic and the healing arts. I sought him out because he offers active release therapy. He listened intently to my descriptions of the chronic troubles I had over the years and remembered everything I said.
