Ok, guilty. Maybe we ate here because at 10pm at night in Sandusky... and on a Monday night... if hunger strikes, what are your options? I mean, everyone loves Chipotle, so... yeah, winner winner! What do you order? Well, a lot of food of course, because it's Chipotle. So, yeah classic standby options like a burrito or burrito bowl with all the toppings you want. For a Monday night, they're busy as heck and going strong because there is park closing and hunger abounds! They have a dedicated station for carry out mobile orders and the regular line, because that's how many orders they do all the time. So, if you think of busy, think of this place. The food was exactly as I expected but surprisingly fresher than I thought for a Monday night order from Chipotle would be. The guacamole and romaine are always the giveaway for my freshness gauge. Both were bright green, and the romaine was quite crisp. The tomato salsa was fresh and vibrant. All else was as hoped for - rice was yummy tender, grilled veggies were perfect and the beans were tasty. Burritos and burrito bowls done right? Check. Generous and filling portions? Check. Waited so long just because of the online orders kept coming in making our wait longer. Tried to eat there, once we finally got our food but all the tables were filthy! All of them!!! Not sure where to begin with how disappointed I was dining in at this Sandusky Chipotle location for the first time. I've visited many Chipotle locations throughout my travels and all locations, busy or not, all follow the same cleaning and food service I expect. Walking in was my first moment that made me question eating here with my family. Food everywhere on the tables guests would sit down and eat on. Trash bins overflowing to the top, no room for more trash. The actual food counter where food was being prepared was messy with beans in the meat and lettuce in the cheese....cross contamination. I was hesitant to eat here thinking I might get sick but with very little food options for our limited diet we decided to stay and hope for the best. The line servers making the food we're not properly changing gloves as they checked out customers paying cash. That was concerning to me as this is a health code problem. Portion sizes need to reflect the cost as well. Reading past reviews with similar issues let's me know that this has been an ongoing issue and also let's me know that the manager could probably care less about the business or location and the staff most likely has no respect either. I always wonder how quality doesn't matter in small towns. Pretty sad that major franchises like this do not meet expectations as all other locations. They ONLY do mobile orders which is absolutely ridiculous, they NEED to have that on the door or something like that.

First thing you hear when you walk into this restaurant is: out of white rice, out of steak, and we're all out of both chickens. Kind of interesting to see people walk in and do U-turns. I mean it is a small town, but I don't expect that much variation given. It's only 7:30 on Saturday. The manager Courtney (sp?) is extremely rude and even vindictive towards customers. BEWARE. A few visits ago I curiously asked why they seemed to always be out of certain items when I come in each week and she snapped at me and said it was because they were under staffed and told me instead of complaining I should fill out an application if I wanted to fix the issue. Wtf... She unnecessarily escalated this situation in an aggressive manner and tone. Over the course of my next two recent visits I've come to find out she must have some anxiety issues during situations she finds stressful because she has continued to be hostile and aggressive with me. I feel like I'm being targeted even. The second situation occurred when an employee told me I needed to wait for five minutes before my order could be prepared. No problem at all. I hung back in line and waited. Five minutes came and gone and I asked if it was ready. Then manager Courtney immediately stepped, maybe fearing I was going to cause a scene and told me it would be another ten minutes from that point before they could prepare my order. I expressed confusion at the point and told her that wasn't what I was told almost ten minutes earlier. She accused me of looking angry and scowling while I waited when I wasn't and that I was only disappointed when she conveyed the new wait time to me. I told her I would continue to wait and it wasn't a problem. The third terrible encounter was last night when I was in a crowded line waiting my turn to order. She took my bowl order and then proceeded to literally order me to move down the line. She didn't ask politely at all, she literally ordered me that I had to move down. The only problem though was I only had a foot of space between me and other customer, a total stranger, in front of me. I had no where to go. I couldn't even fully raise my arms up and I told her I couldn't move forward, I have no room and that I preferred my personal space. Again, there was only about a foot of space between the two of us already. She glared at me for defying her order and asked me If I wanted queso. I said yes and then she underserved me with a very small scoop on my bowl. I asked the employee handling the salsa next to her for a "tiny bit more queso please" and he obliged. She witnessed him do this and when it was my turn to check out she left her place on the line and took over the cashier position from Peter (an awesome and always helpful and accommodating employee there actually) and proceeded to tell me she was charging me for two orders of queso. I told her that's not what I asked for and she underserved me. She told me that's what the employee on salsa gave me, another full serving. And I said he didn't though. He only added a little extra because she underserved me. She berated me in line in front of other customers and accused me *again* of always "looking mean and scowling when I come in." Wtf, Chipotle. Why is his this Courtney person a manager for your company? I've been coming to this chipotle location for almost ten years without any issue and three times in less than two months I've had these horrible experiences with this terrible person who is your manager at this location. Good luck to those of you dining here not triggering this manager especially if you ask any questions or express disappointment at their lack of food items or good service or if you happen to "look mean and scowling". She will project her anxiety and insecurity at you, she will become vindictive and insult you in front of other customers. I've filed these complaints with corporate by the way. Chipotle is one of my favorites but the service of this location was horrible. Waited 20 minutes just to order and only one person in front of me. You would expect that it was due to short staffing but there was at least 7 people working at the time. The stations used to prep food was a mess and to top that off the chips I ordered was stale. When I talked to friends about my experience they have also said that this is the worst location. Management you should really monitor this location. read more

I love how they use fresh and healthy food. Their service is good, everyone is polite and patient. The happy ambiance of chipotle is very popular between people. Not sure who made this, but I've never had better take-out from chipotle. I grew up around here and the staff has been "here and there" with service. The staff at this Chipotle is super friendly!! Coming here, I know exactly what to expect for food which is why I think most people frequent big chain fast food establishments. I love me some burrito bowls, that's for sure. Especially being someone who prefers to eat vegan/vegetarian. The only comment that I want to make about this location is the upkeep on the dining area. There are a lot of kids here and overall messy (careless) people who don't clean up after themselves. I'm not that type of person so it baffles me but I also am the type of person that expects to go into a restaurant, whether it's fast food or not, and have a clean place to sit. I only give this location 4 stars because they definitely need more janitorial clean up through out the day. Walk in to get lunch with my wife today, they refuse us service as they are only taking online orders. Half of their staff was standing around doing nothing. A loud and obnoxious employee starts yelling that they will not take in person orders and you can order online, but it will take 25 to 30 minutes to get your order. This is a very poor way to run a business and it is not a one time thing either. The exact same thing happened back at the end of May during lunch hours as well. It's disgusting, with their trash and old food sitting out. -Pants sagging. It irritates me when people wear a belt, AND their pants sagging. It's just illogical. But when they keep pulling their pants up, with the gloves they are using to cook food, is disgusting. -The sofritas serving size keeps getting smaller and smaller. I literally watched them do a FULL scoop, and a little bit extra, for each one. Then it got to mine, the sofritas. Not even a FULL scoop, and then they shook the spoon to knock some out. Are we serious? -Check out this work space. That's super clean, and no worries about a lactose intolerant person getting cheese or cream on there food. I was with Gilbert s when they refused us burritos because the tortillas they had in the back were reserved for "online orders only". We decided to give another chipotle a chance off Navarre ave 2900 in Toledo, and holy Toledo was it way better, not only did they give us burritos but the service was excellent and they didn't have the mound of garbage in the front. Now you might be wondering why I'm writing this review on this chipotle and not the one in Toledo, the reason being is to address the tortillas being reserved for online orders only. Turns out when we asked about it at the other chipotle they told us that there was no policy reserving tortillas for online orders only and that the other store should have served us burritos. The absolute betrayal we feel is immeasurable. Not only is it a terrible display of service, but how fucking lazy do you have to be to not walk over and grab a couple tortillas, they were right there, all the employees had working legs and I assume they had the small amount of brain power that is required to make a damn burrito. I'm extremely saddened by our experience and I hope in the future this establishment changes their act. It would probably be wise to train your employees better, and also teach them to use their damn heads more. We will be watching the reviews in the future to see if we've made a difference in helping this chipotle be more like the one in Toledo!!! read more
