I was so excited when I found out new owners bought Margaritaville and even more so when I heard they were going back to the original menu! So, I went there to eat with family, 2 of the 3 of us had to send our food back. We thought ehh, they were probably new and needed practice. Sent them back, but by the time our server got back to the table I was no longer hungry and had no appetite to be interested in anything else. Third times a charm, right? This time I tried a carry out. A simple taco salad-who could mess this up, right? Well, let me tell you! They told me on the phone that it would take them 10 minutes. I was there early, thinking I'd have to wait for it. I couldn't find anyone without going into the back. So I waited, hoping the bags I noticed behind the bar weren't mine. Finally, the barmaid comes out, hands me THOSE bags, I take care of my bill then leave and come home. I live 4 minutes from this place. It sure was smelling good in the car! Know why? Bc it leaked all of the salad "liquids?" Out of the bag, onto my cars carpet...very glad I didn't sit it on the leather seats. I get into the house, open the tied bags (with scissors! because they knotted them so tight for no reason!) finally get to the box, open it and am disgusted! There is liquid all in the bottom of the salad box ruining the "crispy" shell as well as any crunch of a piece of lettuce! It was all so soggy I deemed it inedible and pitched it to the trash. I am single, so I do like to bring a date here for a margarita on occasion, love watching the waterfall and the salsa is terrific. The food was extremely good. They sat a big party next to us and it was a bit noisy, but this can happen anywhere. The wait staff was polite and efficient. Terrible experience. Everything that could go wrong went wrong and the people that work there are completely oblivious and/or ambiguous to how bad things are. The waitress took our drink order and then told us they don't have pop (what restaurant does not have soda?) so she gave us some water. Two members of the party ordered margaritas, assuming that "the original Margaritaville" would have decent margaritas. We took one sip ($15 each) and couldn't stomach any more. The waitress never asked how the drinks were or asked if we wanted anything else. The waitress had a terrible attitude and - after screwing up our orders - blamed it on us. The vegetarian in the group ordered one thing but the waitress swore he ordered chicken tacos and then had an attittude when he sent it back. The food is awful and extremely overpriced. We would have been better off going to a Taco Bell. At least the quality of food and value would have been better, not to mention the customer service. And I hate Taco Bell. read more

Ownership changed at Thanksgiving and some updating done, we have eaten here x 2 in last month before writing this view. They have good daily specials then a set of weekend specials. Monday is burger and beer for 6, fries are upgrade, thursday is wet burrito platter for $10, my husband finished half burrioi, rice and seasoned black beans along with complimentary chips and a picante like salsa (on the thin side but not overfilling to take from meal, chips are not warmed). I have tried the enchilada platter 3 plus rice and black beans for $15. I finish about half, you can order ala carte too. Lots of monterey jack on enchiladas. We havent tried the adult beverages yet but they we large and tge frijitas smell wonderful. As others have stated the black beans are good but a little salty. Hubby loved the 3 taco platter with beans and rice for $13. Good size tacos each was like 8 inch versus 5 inch size. They have a beautiful location, weekend music planned on patuo this summer...havent seen patio menu yet but will return and see how things evolve esp with summer season and Bike Week approaching. My husband and I desired to give this establishments another visit as we heard it was under new management with good Mexican food. We were there after the lunch period and before dinner about 3:00. The Ambiance was good and the remodeling was nice. The view of the lake and waterfall are worth seeing even if it's just to have a cocktail. They claim a full bar, however they did not have my drink of choice, Chardonnay. My husband had a Margarita. He said it was excellent and they did not skimp on the Tequila. I ordered the fish Tacos. My fish Tacos came with a black bean and corn salsa and Mexican rice and refried beans. He ordered a taco salad. The Rice and beans were so salty I could not eat it. The fish tacos had three black beans and two pieces of corn on each, but it wasn't a salsa. However, the taste of the fish was delicious. My husbands Taco Salad was delicious too. There were quite a few people there at the time, but just one wait staff behind the bar and one server on the floor. We waited quite a wile for the food. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. She provided us with corn chips and salsa when we arrived and we ordered a queso sauce as well. The salsa sauce wasn't very good and was so cold it seemed like it had been frozen and not quite thawed out. The queso was delicious. Comes with fries, tator tots, and melted shredded cheese on top. I ordered their grilled cheese, which was also good. I was a little bummed by the severe lack of vegetarian options, but I was happy that the grilled cheese was an option. The service was good, but my friend ordered a daiquiri, and it was taking forever to come. So we reminded them, but still it didn't come. This place was a serious disappointment. I read the website and understood that I was not getting the Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. They made such a point about it that I expected that they would have pride in their food and service. The food was mediocre at best. Almost no seasoning on the Jambalaya Mac! Jambalaya should be full of flavor, this was super bland. Other dishes like the BBQ bacon burger had very little sauce. The chili fries just tasted like they poured a can of Hormel chili over the fries.. I've always said great service can make mediocre food good. Unfortunately, the service we experienced made the food even worse! Our food and our kid's food came out separately (5 min apart) by two different servers that weren't even our server! My wife asked for a glass of ice to put in her drink as all of hers had melted and that never came. Our server only checked in one time throughout the entire meal until he brought us our checks, which took an extremely long time since last checking in. If you are looking for a good time you should look elsewhere. We won't be returning and do not recommend you giving it a try. read more

We came to Margaritaville to watch the band. Unfortunately, we have received the absolute worst service of anywhere I've ever been. It took almost an hour to receive our drinks, an hour and 45 minutes to get 6 boneless wings and a burger. When we tried to order more food, as more of our family arrived, we were told that we could not order anymore food for at least an hour. When i went to the bathroom, i saw that one of only two bartenders was busy on her phone taking a smoke break, even though we had already waited 40 more minutes for the second round of drinks. If your ever on an adventure while riding your motorcycle in Northern Ohio, you need to check this place out. The scenery's amazing!! Rather huge place with lots of decks. The waterfall incorporated into the platform of the bar is very awesome. There is also a stream with fish along the bar side outside on the deck. The food is very good. I like the pork grinds with spices. They are very crispy and have some heat to them. The smoked wings are also yummy. They have good service if your either at the bar or in the patio area. Save your money and avoid this place. For starters, it's filthy. All the dining tables were dirty with food pieces and crumbs all over and the menus were gross like they'd been fingered up by a million greasy fingers. Not to mention the outrageous price of everything. Our bill was $60 when all we ordered was 2 meals, a coke, queso, and one margarita. $60!! The margarita alone cost $18 and they charged us $8 for the literal ounce of queso they brought to the table. The price would be more understandable if the food was of good quality but it literally tasted like it was cut out of a bag. The queso was weird & slimy and the margarita was nothing special either it just tasted like cheap premade mix. I am not exaggerating when I say I've had better meals from Taco Bell. The cherry on top: our waitress was very strange and was noticeably drunk or high on something. Got dragged back here by "friends" recently. Still one of the worst margheritas on the surface of the earth. Barfy pre-mix and cheap alcohol. We ended up here despite my warnings to the group that it would be awful. It was, again, awful. Aside from being cold and flavorless, it was presented with all of the flash of an Army field mess tent. We received no refills or enquiry as to our desire for a refill. When one of the others in the group (who had initially touted the many positive reviews) returned from the potty and informed the server that there was no TP the server was non-plussed to now have to talk to another person to resolve that inconvenience. I wonder if we had orderd a few pitchers of Bud Light and buncha chicken wings if they would have done better. One star for the nice view of water demonstrating the continued functioning of gravity. I should probably give another star for the marketing manager who, while we were exiting, drunkedly tipped over his UltraFatClassicBobSpringerXLGHRSVP Harley. We had a great time watching him and his drunken underlings trying to right the beast. Even though they were successful on this evening, I don't know if they have a regular performing schedule or not, so I will hang onto that star and see if they end up featured at some future date. I recently ordered the Smokehouse Brisket BBQ Tacos with a full cob of Street Corn as the side, a 16 oz. Rhinegeist Truth draft beer, and a glass of water. Service was excellent. The food was amazing. Particularly cool atmosphere. Outside seating was closed when I arrived, but it looked as if it would be fantastic. I sat indoors beside a wall of windows directly in front of some sort of outside faster flowing waterfall, small river, or large creek. It was dark out so I was unable to see all of the details. First off--the cigarettes. We sat on the tiki bar deck for lunch and I was just shocked at how many people were smoking, or allowed to smoke, at a restaurant. Next we ordered a pulled pork platter, a turkey sandwich, and a brisket/wing platter. When our food was dropped off, the baked beans were ice cold, the Mac and cheese was ice cold, and the pulled pork was also cold. To top it off, the waitress never even came back for us to even tell her the food was cold. When she dropped off the check finally we told her about the cold food items. The good thing is, she went to her boss and told him about it to ask if he would take those items off--AND GET THIS--HE SAID NO!!!! Hahaha unbelievable. I have been looking forward to coming here for so long! It always looked like such a fun place to eat. unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We waited well over an hour for our food and when it finally came, it was not what the menu described. It said it was grilled chicken and it was very deep fried, I took one bite and just couldn't stomach the taste at all. My husbands food looked like it had been sitting under the warmer lights for quite awhile as well. We sat and watched other tables get angry and get up and leave for several different reasons. I truly hope they can fix what's going on, because this place does have potential, but as Of right now, it won't last long from what I saw.
