Stopped in here about an hour before the kitchen closed after some golf. I figured I'd order something easy since it was near the kitchen closing and it's only 3 stars on Yelp. Well, I was wrong. The food was all cooked freshly and it was all really good. The bar tender (bar manager) was really friendly as soon as we walked in. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 is because I have to eat at a place multiple times to give a 5. But would definitely go there again when back in the area. This is our 3rd time visiting here. It's been ok, not fantastic. This time I was starving and ordered the steak entree. Brought back memories of going to Ponderosa as a kid, and not in a good way. Thin, and lots of gristle w/fake grill stripes. Baked potato was room temperature. Very disappointing. Service was great, on the other hand as was the green bean appetizer. The Sidelines was very laid-back and was a restaurant bar atmosphere. The rate waitress was very accommodating with my wife's food allergies assisted the best she could. She was on top of everything and very helpful. My wife had the Sirloin and I had the ribs. I will have to say the ribs are absolutely amazing and my wife enjoyed the stake also. This is the 2nd time we have tried this place. Food was good BUT our waitress was absolutely horrible. When we arrived we were seated quickly and there were 2 tables plus us. Nobody at the bar. The waitress was coversating with the couple sitting behind us as they obviously knew each other judging by the conversations. We were NEVER even asked for a drink order. After every bit of 10 minutes, the bartender finally made it to us (who was very nice), apologized and took a a drink order and stated the "waitress" (who's name is Emily), would be with us soon. After another 7 minutes, Emily came back to chat with her friends again, as she turned to walk away, still not addressing us, my wife stopped her and ask if we could put in our order. Emily responded with a "yah". After giving her our order another table had been seated, Emily made her rounds to the tables, took all the orders and returned to her friends behind us. Food started coming out, but we were the LAST table to get ours and we were the first to put a order in. We waited over 20 minutes for a small pizza and a meatball sub!! The BARTENDER brought the food to us. We were never checked on ONCE ! FINALLY after we were done Emily finally came to the table and left the bill. We asked for a to go container which naturally was forgotten. She absolutely sucked ! If this is the service you get there, we will not be back. read more

I will say, I hope most people have a better experience than I did. I love eating local when possible. Brought the fam thinking a simple burger fries night. The place totally has potential with the bar restaurant and plenty of TVs to watch. Our waitress was less than attentive on a less than busy Friday evening. Drinks, should be quick as a pour and serve right? Not in this case. At one point she brought us drink refills and she actually said "10 years later right?" with the giggle. Unfortunately by the time our food got here most of it was relatively cool to the touch. I considered it sending it back but was hungry and thought it's good enough. We had a good experience here overall. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and had that familiar sports-bar atmosphere. Fried green beans were amazing! Our waitress was doing great despite being short-staffed. She even claimed she cooked our sandwiches, which both turned out great! In turn, we waited a while for the food, but it was worth it! So disappointed in the food. The groundbeef cheese dip was good, the chips were a bit stale and bad. We got wings with the sauce on the side. When it was delivered to the table it was covered in sauce. My husband didn't want to send it back, but I couldn't eat them with the sauce. The waitress didn't care. He said the wings were dry and not good. I got the Tuesday night special of 'fish tacos' 3 for $2.50. AFTER I got them (the sauce was gross and I picked out the fish and ordered tarter sauce which was also not tasty), and I picked out the fish, I was told sorry, fish tacos aren't on the special. They charged me $13.00 for them. I would never have ordered them if I had known they were full price. My husband's onion rings were good but the burger was too dry. I've tried several times to have a meal here. Each time it's a bigger mistake. Tried to have lunch today. Was seated and waited 10 minutes for the server who announced "sorry, didn't know you were in my section". I ordered coffee with cream. She dropped off the coffee with 2 creams and said she'd be back. That coffee had been turned off hours ago. The cup was even cold. I then waited another 10 minutes for her to return. I placed an order for a Sideline specialty Cobb salad. I let her know the coffee was not drinkable. So she left it on the table, I'm assuming as a reminder of what I would not be having. The salad had squishy slimy cucumbers on it. I picked them out ate the chicken and attempted the rest of the salad. 1/2 way thru the old iceberg lettuce I found corn chips. It made me feel like they had cleaned off a plate of another salad onto mine then threw some more on top. Nauseating The waitress never once apologized. Never once offered to replace anything or fix anything. I was polite in my response to the cold coffee and slimy cucumber and she just looked at me blankly. Read my other reviews- I almost always write great positive reviews. This was my 3rd try here and it had nothing at all to do with short staffed Covid recovery. Stopped in for the first time and the special was $2.00 margaritas and &1.50 tacos. The margaritas were borderline undrinkable and the tacos were $1.50 tacos. Great for a starving college student. Specials should be used to draw customers in and get them to come back. Unfortunately those tasteless tacos will keep me from coming back. On a high note, service was great and the beer prices reasonable. Not sure I'll ever come back to try a regular price meal due to the LOW quality specials. read more

So opened yesterday and First impressions are good. Beer (Space Dust) was ice cold, food comes out hot. Plenty of wait staff running around where if you need something, you can flag them down and don't get any guff. Service in the kitchen was strained, but second day open? I'll give them a pass! So I live in Dallas and I came to visit family up in Norwalk and my mom suggested that I come try sidelines because it used to be the original Bob Evans. We came one time before and loved the salads. We came back again today and had a different server named Alex. I will definitely be requesting him every time I'm in town. He was absolutely amazing. So sweet and really knowledgeable with the menu. We did have to put in a small compliment and he hopped on it right away and addressed the complaint immediately. Would highly recommend this place. PS...$4 long Islands on Fridays!! I ordered the cheesesteak he ordered the jalapeño burger(not sure the exact name) if you love a lot of cheese on your cheesteak like me this sandwich is amazing! This just opened up in our area. I've had great service and food. They have Indore and outdoor seating with a full bar. The pretzel bites and cheese are so so good. average at best. Wait staff was great, although there seemed to be some confusion as to who was our server. After about a 5 minute wait a gal came over to ask if we'd been helped. We told her no, and she said, "ok, then I'll take care if you" and took our order. Another minute or so later and another server came to take our drink orders and was irritated the other had. Aside from that, our server was good and kept drinks coming. Now, for the food. Waffle fries were great! Loved them. Wife was a bit put off, as her fowl ball salad only had 4-5 chunks of chicken on it. Kitchen staff needs to pay better attention to requests. In the time we sat there, our table and 2 adjacent tables had stuff wrong. Each had asked for something to be left off. So, 3 tickets had special requests, and in each instance, the server brought it out, pointed out that it was wrong, and asked if the customer wanted to just remove them. I wanted to send mine back, but didn't want to have to wait for a replacement, so just ate it. But, with how nonchalant the staff was about it, it sounds like it happens a LOT!!! read more

The food we did receive was good and service at the bar was good. However the rest of the service we received from the waitress at our table was the worst we have ever received. We had to ask who our waitress was; she finally showed up and took our orders. After 40 minutes I had to find another server to check on our food. The waitress never came back to check on us. Then two food items were never even received and we had to ask for those items to be removed off the bill. We had placed an order to go and waited another 30 min on a salad. The person who brought the to go order was yet another server. Way too long for dinner. read more

This place service upon entering is the worst 4 staff looked at me and my family of 5 and it appeared that all assumed that we were with another large party ahead of us. No one even asked. Just said we would be helped soon. 3x about five minutes apart. It wasn't until the bartender noticed my Wife and I talking about leaving he asked about our party. This is only my second time using this establishment and the first time they got my to go order wrong, didn't make the food I ordered, charged me for food I didn't order, tried to give me someone else's food. I only overlooked it thinking that was opening week and they may have improved in six months...No luck. Better luck next time sidelines. Maybe they need to be sideline. read more

I've ate there a couple of times and been happy, last night we went with another couple and none of us were really happy with our meals. I got the Perch...flimsy little things..no crispness and was cold and had no taste at all. Never had such bad Perch anywhere. Waffle fries were good but were cold also. Hubby had Ribs and he said he has had much better other places. Friends had Chicken and Ranch wraps and said they were very dry and not much taste. Drinks were good. I recently had lunch with my sister . Our waitress was friendly but when I got my food she walked by and pushed my plate up under my chin. I am very short due to a medical issue. I pushed the plate back and she came again and pushed it under my chin. I told her I didn't want the plate that close and she proceeded to lay a napkin down and said this is what I do for my kids.I am not a child and needless to say I was shocked at her behavior. I called the manager when I got home and he did remember me and my sister. He said he would talk to the waitress in the morning as she had left for the day. I have been to Sidelines 4 times and the food has always been good. The manager did not offer any compensation for how I was treated. I don't know if I will come back or not. read more

My wife and I stopped tonight for dinner and we ordered the special which was sirloin steak, they both turned out to be bad as in rotten or spoiled, take your pick. We returned them after eating a couple bites each and waitress informed us the entire bag of steaks were bad when they checked. She gave us menus and said to order anything else we liked. We ate these meals and when bill came there was no adjustment for serving bad meat and we were charged full price, even the cheese dip that was returned on plates with the steaks! We ate here for the first time today. The decor was very nice& clean. Our waiter Duncan was really nice& very good at his job.
