As this was my wife's first and second time here on a weekend. We've never heard of Milan, Ohio. We live near Milan, Michigan. So, it was quite the surprise to have found this local establishment in the little town where Thomas Edison was born. Well the food was good, the service was on point, and Ambience was clean and homey feeling. I really liked the vibe this place had. Their specialties are their burgers. Cant go wrong with them. Although I ordered a T-Bone steak. The seasoning was good. But, there was something about the choice of meat that didn't set right with me. Just my opinion. We came here twice in a weekend. Was looking for a place to meet and Milan was the halfway point, what a cute little city and bar tucked into it! The Wonder Bar had a great environment, people were friendly, and had some good specials up on the board. The place was well kept and really clean. We got the famous steak burgers and chicken sandwhich as well as some onion rings. The burgers were good and the fries were yummy, I would ask for them to be extra crispy next time. I got bacon on my burger which was a bit soft so I would ask for that to be crispy as well but the burger Pattie's themselves were super yum! The onion rings were a bit of a let down for me and the portion was not super big to share. This place is cute and has a lot of charm and there's something on the menu for everyone! I also love that they have TV's to watch the games on. If you're in the area definitely stop in! read more

Monster in my meal: had an amazing time at the Wonder brawl tonight the menu had many options, but we chose the taco pizza. It ended up being absolutely wonderful. Ordered 90 wings for a party... they gave me ONE ranch and ONE blue cheese. Let that sink in. Ninety wings. Two sauces. That's not a mistake, that's either pure laziness or a lack of basic common sense. We called to ask if that was really all they give, and got nothing but attitude. No offer to fix it, no apology--just "that's what we do." Wild. Food was mid, service was worse. This place clearly doesn't understand volume orders or customer service. If you're running a bar and can't figure out how to proportion sauces, what are we even doing? Skip Wonder Bar unless you enjoy dry wings and wondering where the rest of your dipping sauces went. read more

The ambiance of the bar is good and the establishment is clean. The service was good and the waitress was very friendly. Unfortunately the food was not so good. I ordered the butterfly shrimp and fry's. My husband ordered the sirloin beef tips (med-rare) baked potato and salad. My fry's were overcooked. I switched with my husbands baked potato. My husband ( bless his heart) will eat anything and never complain. His beef tips were well done but still tasty. My husband soaked the fry's in malt vinegar and ate those too. I think if I come back here I'll stick to a burger. Can't say enough about the sweet friendly waitress. read more

Great spot for a pub meal, drinks and a slice of life in Milan. My boyfriend and I were in town for a short stay and the Wonder Bar was recommended to us by locals. After a late lunch there, we ended up returning two more times, for dinner that night and then another lunch the following day. While the food was fine (my boyfriend especially liked the steak burger) and the tap beer selection good (plenty of local brands), we most enjoyed the atmosphere. The service staff was wonderful - really friendly and remembered us from visit to visit. If our travels bring us through Milan again, we'll definitely stop in! read more

This used to be a great go restaurant/bar anytime. Not anymore, sad to say. The last straw was walking in, grabbing a table (it's seat yourself) and being ignored for 20 minutes. Multiple servers cruised on past, apparently oblivious another group walked in 10 min after us and were promptly greeted and had menus and drinks brought out directly. We're done. read more

What a serendipitous find! We were traveling east on the Turnpike when we exited to look for lunch, expecting to settle for a chain along the highway. But there was nothing near the exit. We decided to venture south and saw the turn for Milan. We quickly found ourselves in a charming little town. Taking a turn around the town square we spotted the Wonder Bar. Inside we found ourselves in a comfortable tavern with a good selection of regional beers on tap. The burgers and fries were delicious, definitely above average. Friendly service and crowd, too. When we opened the box we were Horrified! This was hands down the WORST pizza we have ever seen in our lives. How somebody decided this was acceptable to send out of the kitchen is shocking. Have had acceptable food in the past, but it's pretty hit or miss. read more

Starving and looking for good food and drinks, we ran in to the Wonder Bar. All of our food was pretty good - fried pickles, cheese curds, spinach dip, basil pesto rosemary pizza, fried perch sandwich, chicken parm sandwich, wings. The hand cut fries were especially good. Our server was friendly and nice. We thought the drinks were very weak, but that wasn't a big deal to us that nice. And the price was right!! read more

The line cook/security guard is on a power trip. While a drunk guy could barely stand up straight and was falling into me inside the bar, the "security" wouldn't let my disabled brother inside because he was "stumbling". He has clubbed feet and he typically walks like that. But then he let him inside only after showing him his scars on his feet???? Then our other two friends weren't allowed in without a reason. This bar SUCKKKKSSSS. We immediately paid our tab and left. Missed out on a friends group of 10+ people of business. Don't go here. Ps. Service was good when we first started coming here. Over the last few weeks the kitchen has people seasoning their own wings and the lack of attention given to us by the servers is absolutely terrible!! Cook/kitchen manager coming out and yelling and talking down to employees was embarrassing to say the least!! The gentleman who is behind the bar most nights is fairly rude and not helpful at all. Great spot to get something to eat and relax. Good atmosphere, laid-back and friendly. The owner's obviously put pride, time and money into restoring the building. Went for lunch, wife & I had burgers. She did a build-your-own burger, and I had the black and blue burger. Burgers were large and the portions of fresh-cut fries that we both received were enormous. Definitely enough to fill us up and take the rest home. They had specials posted for the food menu, happy hour and drink nights. For lunch it appeared that the bartender was pulling double duty (bar & waitress to the tables) but we didn't have to wait too long for anything we asked for. Free wi-fi & nice mixed crowd of people. I get it, this is a small town bar, but the problem I have is that small town bar should mean more than, 'Don't expect what you get in the big city.' I am forever looking for the experience in a small town restaurant that feels like something I cannot get in the big cities and burbs... unfortunately this was not it. We were staying 10 minutes away and Wonder Bar was suggested as a place with good food that we could take the kids. So, yes, good for kids. The food, meh... the burgers were okay, nothing to write home about though. Here's what bothered me: 1. when 'chips' were the side dish, it didn't stay a mini-bag of chips, I was thinking small-town, home made... my bad! 2. Didn't have my preferred Miller product, so my husband went to the bar to check out what they did have and found that they had Rolling Rock, so ordered two... it was old beer, clearly no one orders it. A little skunky... don't order it. No, I was tired, I just drank my water. 3. We sat by the pool table, not on the main side of the bar, and I had the distinct impression that when you do so, on a Thursday night, they forget about you. All in all, I think I've had worse experiences, but this wasn't something that was memorable enough to bring me back the next time I'm nearby. read more

The town is quaint and it's a nice location. My family of 4 each ordered something different. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the burger and it really was delicious. The fries were hand cut and so good. My husband got the chicken club and he was very happy. The st. Patty's Day special had four little pieces of corned beef. I ordered chicken wings all flats and got drumsticks with no sauce on them at all and I ordered two sauces .and pierogies that look like they had a bite taken out of one of them. The worst st. Worn booths, cold beer, high school grudges, embarassing memories...this place has it all. Patrick, I gave them the auto-4-star because they have a very nice shuffleboard table, the big long one, right up front alongside the booths. Food- (2 yellow lake Erie Perch; 1 hamburger and 1 buffalo chicken wrap) Perch- "tasted fresh and delicious" Hamburger- "thick and juicy!" Chicken wrap- "tender and well put together! I would highly recommend!" Fries- The fries are hand cut and tasted great. They weren't salted which was nice because we could add our own. Waitress- Nice and friendly she was helpful without being overbearing. Atmosphere- Really clean and inviting. Bathrooms- were very clean and adequately supplied.
