This Chipotle has a long line during dinner time and I always have to wait for a very long time. There are many kids on the line coming from a school nearby and it is always super crowded. The tables are all filled up. There's never an empty table but I always take my food to go. The service is kind of slow in this one or maybe the line is just too long. It's always out the door. The location is also very small. Luckily it is next to Starbucks so I get a caramel Frappuccino or latte first before waiting on the line to grab a chicken bowl. The chicken is very fresh and juicy all the time in my bowl. Luckily they pack all the ingredients to the top so I know I'm getting my money's worth. The sour cream is fresh. The bad thing is the black beans are kind of salty. I wish they put less salt. The guacamole is very tasty and seasoned well. read more

I Did not think the reviews were that serious but Im never coming to this location ever again. There's barely any walk room for starters and they are extremely stingy with the portions. I never had to ask for extra corn and salsa but at this location, I had to keep telling them can I get a little more of this and that. They literally gave me half a scoop of chicken. I will place my order like 30 minutes ahead of when I want it and somehow it doesn't even start getting made (or so it says in the app) until way past the time it's supposed to be ready for pickup. I had the most interesting experience at this Chipotle location this afternoon. I went in to get burrito bowls, chips and guacamole for lunch. Everything seemed okay at first. The staff member that was helping me mentioned that they ran out of the bell pepper and onion mixture and that they were closing early today. While she was putting my order together, the music in the restaurant suddenly increased and I could barely hear her. She asked another staff member to decrease the volume but that member refused and they got into an argument. I don't understand why the music was turned on so high that you cannot hear your customers. Management needs to step up and train their employees better. I popped into this Chipotle after a long day at the hospital. It was close to closing time and they had a number of customers whom they were trying to take care of. Though it was close to closing they brought out additional ingredients to complete all the orders. The staff was friendly and customer focused throughout. Hmmmm how should I start? Panhandling before and as I'm ordering food, loud horse play as I'm repeating my order, cashier telling me they don't make vegetable quesadillas, but will charge me for a burrito. I am a fan of chipotle, but let me tell you about this horrible location. The staff here needs to be replaced. The location was set to open at 10:45 I had been waiting outside the doors since 10:35am and made eye contact with both of the only employees working. at 1050am one of the two staffers working gave me the cut throat signal through the window, I guess indicating that they were closed. Eight minutes later, well after 12 customers including myself had attempted to open the locked door, the male worker came out and communicated that they were short staff and won't open the establishment until 12pm. He explained that there were only two of them working and they needed time to prep the food. Maybe because this is an underserved community and it's difficult getting workers to this area, that would cause such disfunction. Either way, it needs to be remedied. Offer higher pay, they may attract better dedicated employees. Needless to say I didn't have chipotle that day. Good thing there was an authentic Mexican food stand steps away who took all the customers chipotle lost that afternoon. I recommend a hard pass on this location! read more

My co-workers and I have long joked about how this neighborhood needed a Chipotle, somewhat tongue in cheek in this predominantly Dominican section of Washington Heights. So were we surprised last December when a DNA Info article boasted the arrival of a Chipotle in the former Columbia Social location? A little bit! Granted, this Chipotle franchise is relatively smaller than others, and they are going to be dealing with a comparatively LARGE clientele from NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia's medical schools. Upon checking it out with my NYP co-workers on Day #2, the line was out the door at 1 p.m., almost in front of Mike's Bagels. It took us 45 minutes to make it through the line! Is that to be expected? Yeah. Currently, I believe it's the novelty of this being in our neighborhood that's bringing out the crowds. Give it a few weeks. The lunch line will still be long, but it'll get shorter, and the service will get quicker. Given the influx, they did a damn good job today. I ordered three burrito bowls with different ingredients, and they got it down pat. One co-worker complained of the beef in her bowl being a bit too fatty, but we both agreed it was "first day jitters", so to speak. The gentrification of Washington Heights is at hand, and this is a big step towards it right here. I can see this as being good and bad. Let's face it: the gentrification WILL happen, and part of me fears people will go here for lunch over some other local restaurants. Still, is it convenient? Yeah...it is. There is no denying it. When we opened the burrito bowls they were half full and super wet and messy. Not at all like our past burrito bowls. They were gross and like half portions. So I brought them back and showed the staff who agreed they were sad excuses for Chipotle bowls and they remade them. But they were basically the same as the ones I returned. So either this store needs better training for their staff or the quality of Chipotle bowls has gone down. I give 2 stars because the food was still tasty and the staff was very nice and helpful. Your average Chipotle, fairly quick service and good option near the hospital for lunch. Not going to get into specifics, you know what u want when u go to chipotle. But in terms of venue, take out from this location is definitely preferable as space is limited. **One small thing, near the condiment station where you grab your chipotle sauce to go, every time I've gone they are always out of the little cups u can use to take away lemon wedges, sauces, etc. They'll replace them at the front immediately, but its just a little bit of inconvenience. just an FYI. This location is surrounded by a major job for docs and nurses from the areas surrounding hospitals and they frequent here very often,most days the line is spilling into the sidewalk with people in hospital scrubs. Today was no different, the line was ridiculous, like outside the door @1:00 pm in the afternoon, it took about 15 minutes for me to reach the counter, but I must admit the staff was friendly and moved at the speed of light. So I find myself visiting my love at Columbia Presbyterian, in the hospital way longer than anticipated. Found out chipotle was here. I love chipotle. I don't think they skimp on ingredients. I gave eaten here four times in a week and it's fresh, fully prepared. This is a wee chipotle. Seating is across someone you don't know, no elbow room, no room at all. Lines easily form. It's very popular. At least there is a chipotle. Get it to go if you need to. The food at the hospital is extremely limited, the only thing good are the hale and hearty soups. They run out.
