The vibe is comfortable, friendly, and very local. You really get that neighborhood restaurant feeling. The food was excellent. They start with complimentary chips and homemade salsa -- fresh with a little spicy kick at the end. We had the chicken burrito, chicken quesadilla, and pork tacos, and everything was delicious. The pork taco has a slightly gamey flavor, which I personally loved, but if you don't like that taste, I'd recommend chicken instead. I do wish you could mix and match different taco fillings, and the restaurant is a little on the rougher/less-clean side, but honestly, neither took away from the overall experience for me. Another big plus: 15% off when you pay cash. Great food, great local atmosphere, and friendly service. Definitely coming back.

You can see in the photos it appears they're trying to be more of a cocktail lounge/ restaurant as there was a stage in the front. Wasn't thrilled with table as the corners were broken and they gave us fold up chairs. This just gave me a local food spot feel vs cocktail lounge. As we sit down we were approached by 2-3 servers. Put in our drinks and appetizer order. Both of which were good, tasty. Our dinner was arroz con pollo and pernil. Found it odd they added bits of fried chicken cutlet on top of the areoz con pollo. Dessert was passion fruit cheesecake. We enjoyed our time but not sure I'd come back to dine in. Would likely order takeout. Staff was nice. Friendly. Food was good. Hot. Cheesecake was frozen even though it tasted good. I think with an increase in Latin/Caribbean cuisine places in the area, this is just okay. Not sure how the night scene is.

We received our order pretty quickly and everything was warm (not super hot). We ordered beef and cheese empanadas - they were very fresh and crunchy but bland. We ordered a large maduro - fantastic - large pieces of banana perfectly cooked - soft and sweet. I ordered the pernil combo with rice and gondules and yuca fries - the pernil while soft was pretty salty. The rice was very good - good portion - needed some hot sauce. The yuca fries were very good - the sauce it came with was too spicy for me. Hubby had a pastele which he said was very good. He also had the pork chunks with rice and gondules which was also a bit salty. We decided next time to try some other items. We will be back.

The black beans look as if they were poured out of a can with the clear liquid and they were super salty. The potato salad was also too salty and not edible. Not sure why there were apples in there.
