I wanted to give 1 star but the best thing I would say about this place is how good their steak is. Now that this is out of the way let's get down to the nitty gritty. First things first, let me tell you my qualifications: I've been going to this chipotle for almost a decade and know it's history very well. Now here we go, before you even order a bowl or a burrito, the server is itching to grab a bowl for you. If you asked for a burrito by the time their hand is touching the bowl they give you a nasty cold look like you just ruined their already miserable day (this ofc depends). Proceeding on to make sure to give you the least amount of food as possible. This is probably because of their manager (stern looking hispanic lady who supervises the whole restaurant). By the time you pay and would like a drink you are met with the amazing news that they don't have water cups. Ever. I also have whistleblowers who've told me about them being forced to work overtime with no pay late at night. So what to do about this? My answer: go to the chip in Englewood. Service was ridiculous. I am military police and showed my credentials at checkout as I normally get a discount at every other chipotle out there. The staff not only denied me of my discount, but were absurdly rude about it. He told me I had to be in uniform, and said gave me an attitude about it. This shopping complex is beautiful so one would think that chipotle would also be a great place to eat. That is sadly not the case. If I could give 0 stars I would. Rude manager, inconsistent quantity of food ESPECIALLY for online orders...dirty store (tables are never clean) I could go on. I placed a catering order online and went to pick up on the scheduled date and time. I arrived at the restaurant and the food was not ready. When I inquired at the register, they had no clue about my order but also said that they were busy and short staffed and could not help me right away. After waiting a few minutes, I saw the manager and when I asked again about my catering order and the time it would take (had already been waiting about 20 minutes at this point), the manager of this location decided that instead of walking over to address me and apologize for the delay, it would be best to scream at me from across the restaurant, in front of the entire restaurant. He screamed, "We're busy, can't you see. Then just cancel your order, you want me to cancel it for you." Now, if this order had been for anything else other than my child's birthday party, I would have cancelled it then and there. His behavior, tone and demeanor were completely uncalled for. I am not an unreasonable person. If he had spoken to me politely and told me that there was a delay due to being short staffed and to expect the food within a certain amount of time, that would have been satisfactory. Instead, I was offered no apology for the delayed order, got screamed at from across the restaurant and overall pickup was nearly 40 minutes delayed. If staffing and ensuring catering orders are not ready on time is an issue then this location should not offer any catering options period. Note my order was for 10 people not 100 and placed 4 days ahead of time. I would not even bother to address this if not for the fact that I have had MANY issues with this manager and this location. In general, at the Closter location, food quantity is subpar and inconsistent especially when ordering online. The orders are often wrong. Now I know they are almost always wrong and missing an item, so I make sure to check before I leave. But when I check and inquire about missing items in my order I am told they have run out of chips (and not offered any replacement) or whatever item it is and also treated extremely rudely. It happens all the time. I would have stopped going to this location entirely but unfortunately my picky children actually like Chipotle food as they are too young to recognize the inconsistency at this location and specifically requested for their birthday. read more

Where to begin? The dirtiest Chipotle I have ever gone to. Trash overflowing; tables, chairs, covered in food. Watched a worker push the food from on the table onto the seats & floor. Floor covered in food & trash. No forks or straws which made eating a salad challenging. I have never been to a restaurant where they ran out of utensils & told you to eat a salad with a spoon. I have left maybe 2 reviews on Yelp in my life but this is necessary so people like me stop wasting their money. This is by far the worst Chipotle I have ever had. I have tried to order from their location about five times now, and 4 out of 5 times I have received the wrong order. Today in fact, the order was wrong but miraculously on top of this, they also got the order wrong for the person who originally requested it as evidenced by the missing ingredients inside when compared to the label on the bowl. Additionally outside of their staff being unable to align the name on the package to the name on the bag, the orders always come with what looks like 1/4 of the expected food. I collected the cheese included within the bowl and it amounted to 1 tablespoon. The brisket was not far behind. If there was 1/8 cup of beans it would have been a generous estimate. I could have gotten more contents in the bowl blindfolded. I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt on delivery mix ups but the quality of the food is such garbage that I'll never go back and no one else should either. To the owner of this dump: You have 90+ reviews with the majority being 1 star. It's not hard to tell you make zero effort to improve this situation which has been ongoing for some time. Reached home (-10 minutes drive) opened the box - found missing rice and beans. Order 2 - this weekend picked up food. One of the orders had wrong ingredients. It seems this place is only open for online orders. It's frustrating because if you call ahead the recording always says they are open for dine in and take out. Why are the portion sizes so small??? I am a petite person, but I should never have to make an entire new dinner after finishing my Chipotle meal. The amount of protein they add is ridiculously small - just 2-3 teaspoons, enough to spread it out to make it look like a lot. The bowl is usually half filled when completed and never to the top. Are the servers buying the restaurant food with their own money? Could it be laziness? Serve smaller portions, then cook less food, which is less work. Please note my bad experiences have only been with the male servers serving snack sized meals. I used to be a frequent customer, but stopped going to Closter Chipotle due to portion size. With all that said, I will no longer be going to this establishment and many other Chipotle's. I recently walked in expecting to place an order after not going to the Closter Chipotle for so long, only to find they no longer allow you to order inside due to Covid. Well, I had no phone on me. I also do not have a smart phone, so could not place an order even if I wanted to. This Chipotle is the dirtiest chipotle I have ever seen. The tables were not clean. Food was all over the floor when we walked in. The serving counter was so dirty that I was hesitant to place an order but I did anyways and regretted. The serving team was so unprofessional that they were spilling food on the counter and my tortilla was scooping it as they dragged it. When I complained, the manager defiantly told me that " yes, we are dirty". We placed $50+ order which took a little bit of time and the serving team started showing us the irritating look that "oh! I was never impressed with the speed and quality of the food, the staff is rude, and it appears this place is run by untrained people, most trying to do their best but management is completely absent! Reason I am posting a review is because I went there to get a meal for my family and experience was just miserable and management was rude. The person trying to wrap our burrito was new and he literally had no idea how to do it. Not his fault, but poor training. The manager (I assume it was a manager) tried to do it, he wrapped it but had a big hole in the center with everything spilling out. I asked them to re-do it and so he tried another attempt. Unfortunately in his 2nd attempt he messed up again and half of the stuff was spilling out, and to make it worse he tried to just wrap it up in the foil and pass it on!! I asked them to please re-do and then he started arguing with me how I asked for too much stuff. There is nothing extra I asked for other than what goes inside regular burrito. It's a Mexican grill so I would think they know how to do a proper job. He then just threw out my burrito and walked away!!! Absolute joke. Another lady came in, did the job and we were very happy, except she forgot the chips!! This is actually very suspicious because this location forgot our chips few other times before. When I pointed it out to one of the ladies that serve they said to the other lady who put the chicken in my Bowl "to just take out the raw pieces" am I going mad? Because she was dead serious! I turned around and walked right out. I wouldn't be surprised if numerous people in Closter get sick from this establishment. I mean seriously raw chicken??? No wonder this place is empty stay the heck away unless you want to become one of the many statistics of people who got sick by this chain. Remember their listeria outbreak not too long ago? Well somethings never change clearly. This place lacks direction, management is clearly not present, employees are most certainly not trained well or at all which is frightening on so many levels! The workers in here run around like chickens with their heads cut off. The food is all prepared and in front of them, how hard is it to pour it into its respective vessel and move on? This location is in the brand new Closter mall area. This Chipotle is not busy at all and there is never a line, but the workers are already lazy and dead inside. The large woman who puts the condiments on the food has a scary dead look in her eyes, and I'm not sure if she has a hearing problem because she never hears me when I say "less sour cream" or "more cheese". She will pour so much hot sauce and sour cream into your food that you won't be sure if you're eating Chipotle or pink vomit. It's incredible how I can stand only 2 feet away from her head, yet she won't hear a single word I'm saying in a mostly empty store. This bitch needs to be scolded by a manager. I know that since it's Chipotle, I'm not paying for the service and shouldn't be surprised at the poor work ethic of fast food chain employees. But they are located in our town of Closter, in a location that is notorious for businesses closing down.
