I ordered online. Half and half protein of barbacoa and chicken and when I got my bowl it was like 1 of each, not 1/2. Food was really fresh, way different than all the other chipotle's I've been to that has dry chicken, barely any meat, and still cheap out on. This bowl was a heavy bowl, there wasn't even that much rice but a lottt of protein. The only downside is that the white rice was slightly more moist than it should be but probably just a mistake of putting too much water when cooking. I visited this Chipotle (86th Street between 3rd & 4th Ave) on December 28th at approximately 3:45 PM, and had a very disappointing experience. There was no line at all, and I was standing at the counter in the spot where you begin ordering your bowl. No one greeted me -- not even a simple "hello" or "I'll be right with you." Multiple staff members saw me and didn't acknowledge me. Then, two new customers walked in after me, and both of them were greeted immediately, while I continued to be ignored. I finally said, "Hey, hello, I'm waiting," and the employee responded, "He'll be with you in a minute." The person who was supposed to help me then continued doing whatever they were already doing without looking at me, acknowledging me, or giving any update. After that, I walked out. Basic acknowledgement matters. Guests shouldn't have to work for attention in an empty restaurant. I hope management addresses this, because experiences like this are discouraging and easily preventable. Haven't had Chipotle in a while.. tonight I had a craving for it. Their menu has changed quite a bit over the years. My go to in the past was the Burrito with rice, guacamole, black beans, line, white rice and a little sour cream. Today, I decided to try burrito fillings veggie style and ordered their Veggie Bowl. This was absolutely scrumptious: the guacamole was the creamiest and freshest, tomato salsa, fajita veggies, roasted chili corn salad, and black beans over white rice. Highly recommend this dish! While out and about on a relatively nice day in my Bay Ridge, Brooklyn neighborhood I decided to treat myself to lunch as opposed to fixing up something at home. Since it had been quite some time since I've gone into the Chipotle on 86th Street, I made that my option for this lunch. Now since I was super behind on numerous personal projects I would be taking my order home with me but on entry I found the place to be nice and clean with a couple of customers at the available tables enjoying their own eats. It seemed to be on the slow side when I walked in which was good because that meant in and right out. I was greeted immediately by one of the preparers and I decided on a steak burrito with most of the available items one can have added to a burrito. There was rice, tomatoes, lettuce, spicy sauce, corn, black beans, shredded cheese and sour cream. They had guacamole but that was for an additional price and I decided to leave this out of the already sizable burrito. It took less than five minutes to assemble and the process reminded me of college days when I did similar work at a local Blimpie's which used to stand not far from this Chipotle. Now I am unsure when the chips stopped being complimentary but I think that they used to be. They seem to run about $2 a bag which is nice if you must have chips with your order but as I mentioned I was taking mine to go and I did know that there were similar chips on hand in my domicile. Once home I was impressed with the overall size of the burrito. It ran me about $14 and it was so large that I cut it in half to have part now and the rest for tomorrow because we be filled up when you can do that instead. While I had a spicey sauce added to this I also use some of the sauces that I keep in my home. For this one I used my Jalapeno sauce from Yellow Bird. I like a number of this company's output and if you are curious they come with a solid recommendation from me. All in all, I was glad to have chosen Chipotle today. My neighborhood has had a whole crop of restaurants and smaller pop ups serving up this kind of fair and it might be fun to try some of them out provided the activity doesn't add to the waistline too much. I usually have a good experience at this Chipotle. Orders are made quickly and correctly, the portion sizes are good (including for the kids' meals), the staff is friendly, and there is ample seating (including an upstairs area, although it is annoying that the upstairs is not always open, especially during more busy lunch hours). I mostly order on the app, and I think there have only been two times over the years that the food wasn't ready before the estimated time in the app, which is pretty good. The app is convenient for ordering, and it's also worth it for the points, special offers, and free guacamole for your birthday. read more

The taste is fine, same as other Chipotles, but the portions are so clearly reduced (look at photos). Unfortunately, I haven't been able to go to other Chipotles in the past year to compare, but especially for the cauliflower rice which is an extra $2, I don't like how it feels like there's less than regular rice. Also the cauliflower rice always arrives soggy. I myself have made cauliflower rice, so I know how to make it less soggy, which Chipotle isn't putting in the effort to do. I honestly don't understand why I keep coming to this location, it is definitely the most unpleasant location, I ordered two bags of chips one large and one regular, she comes over with two regular sized bags and I tell her that one has to be large, she goes to "get" the larger option and I see her just put a sticker on the same bag she went to put back, as I correct her, yet again, she just tells me that that's how it comes. Was in the area and wanted Chipotle (first in a very long time) as it would be quick and fulfilling. Chipotle had advertise that now the tortilla would be charged on the side for .25cents. But not everyone heard so they were surprised by the extra charged-- I don't get it so I was okay. I always only get the burrito bowl (burrito & taco are too messy) so I don't need the tortilla. My husband and friend got the tortilla on the side and didn't know until they reached the cashier (by then, it would be rude to say no as it was already heated & wrapped in foil). I suggest they put a sign up by the front where the tortilla heater is and one by cashier. They had 2 different beef cuts when I came in 11/20. I was confuse as I didn't know what the taste and price difference is, the staff suggested half to try. I took his suggestion as it was delicious. It was steak and the limited special Carne Asada ($11 while steak is $10). I believe they charged me the $11 even though I got half. The food is dependable. The food service here is decent. When making multiple orders, I try to make the order the same. The ambiance is ok, there is plentiful seating space upstairs. However for some reason I was charged $50 for my 3 chicken bowls. I was almost home when I noticed the receipt. Thinking back the cashier did confirm the order with the person preparing the order and I also said "3 chicken bowls" I recall that cashier was the person packing the 3 orders and saying the total of $50 something, but I was distracted and did not check my receipt until later. I was upset, and it did not help that I also did not get an apology for the billing inaccuracy. I was refunded for one order. I asked for a bag of chips as a consolidation for the inconvenience and he did give me a bag of chips though. - Perhaps everyone has a bad day? Management is weak and the employees joke around in front of waiting guests - it's a human thing to do, but here noticeably more so than the [omfg] number of other locations I've been to. The seating areas are definitely not getting cleaned frequently enough, and the prices are slightly ahead of Manhattan prices, which perhaps is driven by logistics or traffic (?). I do admit it's tough with the staff turnover and recent issues the company has been having, and I've found the employees courteous as usual when on the assembly line, but the company needs to figure something out here. Never a long line given the location but sometimes a short one. This is the second time I've visited this Chiplote & it'll be the last! The first time the employees were rude no sense of hospitality. I've waited over 10 minutes for the rice to be cooked and it was extremely hard when I got it.
